The content is pretty balanced where each of the 3 routes have roughly the same amount of stuff. There are a few unique scenes only available on one path, but it's not extreme.
Part of why updates are slow/non-existent is one of Atem's principals for the game is three full-featured routes for each girl. Picking romance or slave doesn't just turn off a bunch of content the way it does in other 'choice' games. Building that many variations of scenes and stories is very slow and seems to be too much for a single developer.
Since development is either stuck or done I'd recommend playing all the routes. There is a lot of choices in the game already and if you only take one path you're missing a done of already completed content. Make a save when you first arrive at Stormside; nearly all branching happens after that.
To add to this, if Development continues, there will be different scenes when having girls on different routes. The branching this game will have is insane.
Only way I can see development continuing is cutting down the branching or atem hiring a team. The first one is far more probable.
I mean, having 3 routes for each girl is fine, but I would not go the way and make different routes for girls on different routes. Sure, realistically it makes sense that the game is different if you put everyone on the Slave-Path except for Riley or something like that, but with the possible combinations, it is not really worth it. It is way too late in my country to make the correct math, but having that many LIs and all of the main LIs with 3 potential routes... This is a lot of combinations.
The branching complexity would increase exponentially. There are technically 4 routes as a no route was also possible. There are also multiple ways to get into a route. Also there also seems to be sub routes in a route like hatred/forgiveness path of akemi. Also take the fact girls will also interact differently with the other girls and mc depending on the route. He was basically making multiple games at once. Unless he makes clones of himself it literally is impossible to do this game alone.
Even ignoring the routes. Every single render has to have like 10! variations depending on who is wearing a collar at the time. Would have been a better idea just to hand the collars to everyone at the same time.
So sad to hear the dev went radio silence. I was checking for updates pretty regularly up until a couple months ago and was sad to see the abandoned tag. From what it looks like in the discord server, the dev's last message makes it sound like the many branches were too much for him. As cool as the feature was, I am not at all surprised he burned out solo deving this game. It would be nice if someone else was capable of picking up where he left off.

That's... not actually borne out by the content of those messages. It's a common speculation here, but nothing Atem has ever said supports it. None of his last messages in Discord, either in his own server or in DMs with people that I know of, indicates anything about him feeling like the game's structure was too much for him in any way. I specifically mentioned that, during my last conversation with him in Discord in October, he was actively working on the game while we chatted. His Patreon post in December didn't show any indication of it, either.

I am going to spread a rumor.
I legit think he is in prison for a few months.
I have no evidence to support this claim at all.
It just fits with the decreased activity throughout 2024 and then the sudden stop of communication. He didn't know if he would be convicted. Hoped not. Kept his private life private. Hoped he could release a update in time. Then bam. Shit hit the fan bad.
Since its not for years and years, he just keeps the game abandoned for a few months and then continues.
If he is dead it would be more sudden. And in most other circumstances just posting a quick announcement in his discord takes like 5 Minutes.
Heck, even pretending to keep the project running doesn't take a lot of effort. Just some messages.
There are only so many circumstances where you can't post on discord and the activity decreases with still full intend to release an update.

Well, nevertheless, this is a strong statement, you can say something about why and why. And still provide at least some evidence. And if that's true, then are you probably his friend or acquaintance? Actually, it all sounds strange.

But I legit think he was called back home from his away mission on Earth.
The decline of activity since 2024 is a clear indicator that he received orders from high fleet command that his station on the observation station on Earth would come to an end and that he was spending more time preparing for redeployment. He didnt know when, and because he was an observer from off planet, he kept his private life private. He hoped to release the next update in time, but then *Bam* teleported to the transport in orbit for redeployment.
Since he still tries to get his chill post on Earth observational #7 back, he lets the game on abandoned. Thats also why he went radio silent, because he is off planet.
But, and that is a great BUT, if we make enough noise, his superiors in high fleet command will have to send him back to earth to not blow their covered operations.

Nope. I have no relation to Atemsiel at all.
Its all pure deduction. There are only so many things that can keep you from communicating entirely. Neither form of death, sudden or slow really fit the pattern.
The only thing I could come up with is legal issues. I. e. Prison.
Second place is lost interest. But even then complete radio silence after a post that said the intention to release next month isn't really fitting either imo.
Again, the bar is pretty high. There are only a limited amount of things that make you unable entirely to communicate over discord or whatsapp.
And with the pattern of reduced communication beforehand it limits the possibility even more.
There are hundreds to a thousand of reasons why a AVN Project might stop development. But only so many that make it impossible to communicate that.
Again. Its all tinfoil hat speculation. But its based on logical deduction.

I am normally reluctant to post DMs, but there has been so much baseless speculation here that I'm going to do so. This should establish that I'm not talking out of my ass, and refute at least some of the assumptions.

Not much point in posting those chats since his own actions are the complete opposite of what he said he would do. He supposedly hates misleading people, but repeatedly hyped an update that never released while simultaneously ghosting his team and then going completely awol. Seems pretty misleading to me. And you defended him until very recently even though he's been ghosting you for six months and he specifically said not to defend him in that case.
It's fun to speculate about all the crazy things that might have happened like long-term amnesia or getting abducted by aliens, but the simplest explanation is usually correct. Meaning like 1000s of other devs, he dropped the game without telling anyone and conveniently forgot to shut down monetization (which he also swore he would do if development ceased). No matter how convincingly sincere he might have seemed, that's just straight-up sleazy behaviour.
