There's honestly a readme file in the download for a walkthrough. But it only coveres the first 3 chapters. Mostly because i didn't really like the early format of the game so i moved away from the repetition of it and just focused more on story. So after that initial walkthrough guide, you prob wont need a walkthrough--it's pretty linear
More than a month ago that last version was posted. Someone knows when the next one would be available?
It's in the works. It's been a lot slower of a start this time. I sorta got down and lost some motivation after somebody pirated it following the last update. Plus, I forgot hadn't really taken a real break from it. Was just burnt out. The next chapter was one I was really intimidated by to begin with and I just got psyched out. If you want full information, check the patreon site. I have several public posts detailing where things are at and why they're delayed.
However, the project is still in the works and I'm writing again actively. There's more additions and im trying out some more new things in the next update but that also slows things down. I just got rocked at about the worst possible time and it fucked me up for a bit if im being honest.

Your honesty is one of your best qualities though. You have always been pretty transparent about what's happening on the development side. Also, the Discord is a good way of getting updates.
I try and be, bro. We're all strangers on the intenet and I'm not going to win people to my cause by being something I'm not. I'll be authentic and, to me, that means showing my faults as well as any strengths I manage to squeeze out. Part of following this project from the beginning is seeing how it's made and if people are a fan of the game, that's a pretty cool experience. Plus, i'm not superhuman and I'm not professional so I've always tried to portray what it's like to be an average dude with zero experience trying to make a game from scratch.

I wouldn't say that people are getting bored with stories, rather that the update consistency can be a bit "off" that can make attention go up and down.
NOTE: That's not to say anything should be rushed. You're quality is far too good to rush. But rather that the rate at which updates happen has varied so much without warning that I can see how rentention isn't staying.
Example:
I started following this back in Nov 2017 (I think it was .2 back then). For most of 2018, there was generally an update (of some form) each month. That meant that each month I would come here, refesh and BAM, new update. If not (like the last time I commented here) you gave a definite week of when it would be out that month (I actually remember franticvally refreshing the page on the day like "pls notice us sempai")
But for the past 2 months, nothing. I checked a month later in May and found nothing. Checked Pateron (public) and found nothing. And honestly, about a week ago I thought this project was semi-abandoned and honestly forgot about it until I was searching through the Gay tag and say it and found you were still commenting here.
I NEED TO STRESS: None of this is a complaint on updates. Quality takes time. It's more of a case that while you are incredibly trasparent, my advice would be that if you can't make a monthly update (for 100s of many good reasons) legit just make a public Pateron post and set a new "anticipation date" which is incredibly flexible but means that we then at least know not to lose interest because some date is set in our head.
I like the idea of anticipation dates as opposed to due dates because if we don't get an update in terms of the game, we can at least get an update on you (perf in a public Pat Post since that is what a lot of people check when checking progress) of "Don't worry, haven't forgotten about you all, everyone still be interested"
That's my two cents on the matter. I think a lot of ups and downs of interest here aren't about honesty or story or progress, but rather how this is being conveyed.

So thanks for the response but maybe I was misunderstood. My comment about people leaving a review was more of an aside. People leave some pretty flattering comments in the forums here but I just thought it would be cool if they did that in the reviews. However, I haven't noticed a decline in support or anything, in fact support has been insane and growing faster than ever! Much higher than I ever expected. But, activity over here on F95zone has declined mostly because i think most people either jumped on the Patreon or are on the Discord and just hit us up directly. I think most of the people that chime in over here are newer folks just finding the game for the first time.
That being said, I'm not sure where you were looking at on the Patreon site for the updates on the game progress because it's pretty much everywhere. I do Devlogs about once every week or two. Those are actually for patreons though. The actual update progress is listed in the Overview tab and is updated pretty regular. I'll also point out that earlier updates came out once a month with around 40 pictures. Updates now are usually around every 2 months and have pushed over 200. We're also attempting to make custom sets now. So basically we're still experimenting and trying to improve overall quality. I've never gotten faster at updates because I keep trying to raise the bar each time and learn something new. Also, updates are dependent on real life, too. I literally had 2 full time jobs, grad school, an internship, and 3 significant family deaths during that time. I also did a very public patron post on there about really struggling with motivation a few months ago after somebody posted the game on a torrent site, that's what's really pushed this update back so i'm still running about a month behind schedule. The project is very much still alive and the patreon page has a significat amount of information on it if you check it out. a lot of questions can be answered from the public posts...i'm not really sure why they aren't showing up for you. We literally have posts on there like every 3 days right now.
My anticipated due dates are usually every month or two but it really depends on the actual update. Some dates are longer than others. The problem with due dates in the beginning is that I actually dropped parts of the story just to meet the deadline. An entire segment that actually included Braden's girlfriend was eiminated just because i still needed to make the deadline. The more I did that, the less i liked it so i scrapped the due dates completely. When I get close, I'll post it but it usually goes on the patreon just to keep everything central

Let them be, they are still young... I believe that at certain age comes the realization that flirting for us comes down to: "Are we doing this or not, I've got things to do and places to be". XD
I am bumping this thread a bit early, as the next update isn't available to the public yet. If you don't support Aaryn on Patreon and want the early access (it's only a weeks difference or so) just support Aaryn on Patreon. I am sure Aaryn himself will update the OP when the public update is available.
That said, I do like "Straight" enough to be a Patreon donor for Aaryn, and he is in fact the only person on Patreon I support at the moment. After playing the latest Patreon update I really wanted to complain about some story elements that are driving me nuts, so I am going to put my issues below in spoiler tags. Aaryn, if you read my complaints, please don't take them personally and I know many people have no issues whatsoever with the storytelling aspect so take my opinions and ignore them or do whatever with them. People love you and your VN, and I am just one man. I fully intend to continue supporting "Straight."

I don't think the "I'm not gay but I'm only attracted you" thing is so out of place.It shows that he's still figuring things out for himself (Keep in mind, he's still young and what he says and what he thinks is the truth doesn't necessarily mean...it's the truth), like he said like a few lines before he said that, You don't see what's going on here...maybe I don't either (paraphrasing here). Also, there are guys in real life, a gay guy I know, who is only attracted to one woman his entire life. It's more about the emotional connection for them that pretty much triggers the sexual attraction. Other than that and the typos, there were a lot of missed opportunities for choices either in conversation or choosing to stay with him in the shower (For an interactive fiction story, I shouldn't want to yell at the main character so much to make the choice I want to make in a critical situation.) I'd recommend the author read what Chris Crawford wrote about Interactive Fiction. I know it'd greatly improve this series. However, I do think some of the animations are really well done. I loved the early chapters with the repetition because it was more like an interactive game than just a linear story and I got to figure out certain things I can do to make stuff happen and choose what I wanted to do with Braden. Hope you go back to that format eventually.
