This is so well written. The characters are deeper than Lake Baikal. The pacing is perfect. The Chapter 2 ending of the Amy arc was emotional and still unexpected despite the foreshadowing. As a writer, Gloomy Ghost is the real deal.

Who told you that? I know a few people there who subscribe through patreon without any fuss. Also if you know how to read, steam and itchio links are already attached on the thread's main page.

But there is no chapter 2 there yet. Go on read the comments , i also tried using paypal but it also doesnt work due to subscription based model. I have 5 International cards, none of them worked, i also linked them to paypal but it doesnt work. Just search on google patreon subscription issue India and you'll know what i am saying. Even on patreon it shows disclaimer that payments will have problem in india this is from their website. Also this is not a recent issue its been like this since 3 years . Sometimes a certain card might be accepted but it cancels the renewal.

Finished Chapter 2 - I liked the Becca storyline a lot more than the Amy storyline this time, so that was an interesting switch up. If I have one criticism it's that the Amy storyline doesn't do a lot different than episode 1, it felt like I was reliving chapter 1 in a different scenario, and when it did switch up, the conflict was dissipated a bit too quickly. There were not enough consequences for the MC's line of discussion. This is a feeling and opinion. I'm not saying it is wrong, just that it was how it made me feel.

The writing was, again, fantastic compared to peers in the space. The dialogue reads like things a person says, rather than things a person writes (my personal grievance with even the very best titles is that they do this, Eternum and BaD are really guilty of it, even though I love them overall), an element I adore. And the attention paid to subtext in the Becca storyline is really quite beautiful, and admirable - although this owes as much to the art as it does the writing.

And on that note, once again, the beautiful compositions, use of colour, and dramatic lighting really make the title stand out from others. The care that goes into this is extremely impressive. I really don't think there is another VN out there with presentation as polished. I'd say Summer's Gone is close, but as good as Ocean is at lighting, he doesn't have the same knack for colour use as I see in SoP.

I also really like that it's a romance AVN that has sexual content. I'm not a porn game guy, so this is the sort of thing I really enjoy. I want there to be a connection before there's anything lewd shown, and I want what is lewd to also be part of the storytelling. This chapter does that incredibly well because there is a strong conflict that goes into accepting the preconditions for the scene, and the scene itself has all sorts of unspoken worries for the future attached to it that make the story more compelling.

I'm really loving it, and I hope the hiccups in chapter 2's development aren't long term so we can get chapter 3 (and maybe 4) a little faster.

Warning: Sappy, long dev log coming in tomorrow. In the meantime...

Chapter 2: Lessons | Summary

Who do you trust the most? How much do you know about the people in your life? How much can you learn from strangers?

After a week talking to people at Tony’s bar, you start to realize… maybe he was onto something. The writing is flowing and the social anxiety is not as bad as it was on your first night. On top of your best friend, now you have your editor (not in the way he’d like, though) pushing you towards searching for what true connections feel like. Speaking of, both Amy and Becca seem to be struggling with the same thing, so when Tony decides to close the bar early, it’s up to you to choose how you’ll spend the rest of your day.

Changelog:

  • Over 1.700 renders
  • Over 26.000 words
Some notes:

  • This version includes some minor bug fixes, preview images from Chapter 3 as well as a little surprise that's been added at the end of Chapter 1. We strongly recommend you download this version, even if you have the previous ones already so you don't miss out on any content.
  • We've been trying to introduce a feature to skip any NSFW content, it will be included in a future update.
  • Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for your support throughout this time. We could go on and on about the stress, excitement, anxiety, LOVE, exhaustion, and all feelings related to this release, but we’d really like to focus on the gratitude we feel for the trust and support you have shown us in the past year. This is for you.

So, first my anti-virus is telling me the main exe isn't safe to use. I figured it was a false positive, I downloaded it from the patreon page. Then it detected the program trying to access a file that's in a windows folder, input.PNF. That normal?
