haven't felt like commenting on any AVN on here since the first episode of SoP because frankly most updates leave me wanting, but SoP honestly deserves more attention. The 15 month wait time for this episode was definitely bad, there is no way around that, there isn't any real reason to stay invested in the story with 15 months in between and seeing I think 2 spelling errors and some usually choppy DAZ clipping in some render felt especially bad with that perspective thinking there should have been enough time to fix that stuff, but especially because this game is by far the best looking that I have played, simply because of grogus cinematic understanding of how to frame and light and post edit these render. Makes noticing the little errors kinda worse for me for some reason, but I'm known to nitpick on stuff so it's whatever I guess. (thinking about stuff like eris dress or the one girl at the counter clipping her finger through her hips). this isn't really something many will care about though.
after playing chapter 2 I definitely look at this game like a romance visual novel with modest lewding and
gloomy atmosphere, but this definitely shouldn't be compared to the abundance of goofy porn games on here. I also like how much time you actually get with the girls! and sure, that's because there are only two but that really doesn't matter, I don't even like both to be honest, but the fact that the girl I like has basically half the episode dedicated to her gets me all the content I'd want and I don't need to fear to get a 10 minute throwaway scene like in those 30+ character games. it also helps that the writing is pretty good!
I don't know if it was intentional and I don't know if the devs actually read these types of comments but it felt kinda weird to start chapter 2 with the option to call both, despite not actually having both numbers (because of the crossroad choice in 1) and the MC talking in the bar as if he knew all the things from both... made it feel kinda non committal. I really hope chapter 3 will actually take into account what we did before, with just these two routes this really shouldn't be too complicated I think. The interface also still feels kinda floaty, not just because of the camera movement in the main menu but the feedback on what is selected is barely there and jumping back in scenes feels kinda complicated with the hovering, clicking, hovering again, menu selection on the side.
but yea, lengthy text to say: great update! please be faster next time
