The drop in quality is a huge disappointment, I had really low expectations to start with, even then I was hugely disappointed.
It's a new dev so I know the quality will not be the same, visually the renders look good, but the characters lost their expressions, most of the time they basically have a monotone face and the renders sync with dialogues is messed up, characters when they speak rather than looking at each other or the character they are speaking to offscreen, they look elsewhere
The pacing is really bad, it's so sped up that each scene lasts at 6,7 renders
Is it a bug or are there no animations in sex scenes,(btw I'm fine with no animations in sex scenes since this is the dev's first update and they can improve later on), if there are no animations atleast they could have put in a few more renders to make them good, especially the second sex scene, it is done is a blink with absolutely no build up.
My biggest disappointment is the plot itself, I know they are using the old dev's plan, but I find it impossible to believe this was it, the old updates each chapter had a cohesive narrative, with beginning of a mission or event and its end, some updates had missions spilt in two but they had strong narrative midpoint or cliffhanger.
This update was just a bunch of random scenes stiched up together with bad dialogue and pacing so sped up it was just mess.
There were a few narrative reveals yes, which were good but that is it, the build up to next update is done in a few renders, the new characters introduced are just there, that's it no personality or anything, the highly anticipated princess intro is so rushed and let down, we fuck her after a few scenes of her intro Ig.
There is a fight tourney, which I suppose is the big event of this update. The fights were such a huge part of stray incubus, they were so good. But here the the tournament is done in 50 renders almost 5-6 rounds, the round starts and mc wins and next round starts and so on, the end. There is virtually no fight choreography, I was not excepting the quality and visuals of the old dev, but it could have been done atleast with a few more renders, the mc uses basically none of his iconic abilities.
And my biggest disappointment is what they did with Centoria, it was a total letdown, she was in my opinion the most beautiful and unique looking LI of SI, visually she looks like a total different character, her old hair was so good and those freckles and eyes were just perfect. Now she is just generic looking, but that's fine new dev, new style.
But atleast narratively this should have been her update, we were going to her town and basically she is given nothing, absolutely nothing. Her narrative should have been intresting, the build and the platform flynn left for her was perfect. The new update makes zero use of it.
Honestly, the focus before has been so much on how characters look, but if the next updates are going to be anything like this, it does not matter how the characters look, there is just no soul in this update, it's just a pale imitation.
I think the writing and pacing should improve by a lot for this to succeed.
