Yeah, I'm not really convinced, either. Maybe if they do a really great job on the rework.
Ironically itsnt is also reworking his own game after releasing only one half of a chapter.
I think I see a pattern forming here

Honestly, though, I doubt they are going to stick with this.
They only got 14 new members since release, bringing their total to a whopping 89. So the game only earns them 550 bucks a month. Itsnt game is faring even worse at 13 members.
So I'm expecting at least one of them to cut and run at some point.
If they don't, I'll readily admit that this is an actual passion project for them and not some soulless cashgrab.
They would have to drastically increase quality, though.

Well, I'm glad they have taken all the feedback to heart and are going to rework the chapter. I hope it fixes the issues we've all presented and brings the game back to some semblance of its past glory. Good luck to the devs. I'm still going to hold off on committing any money to the patreon until progress has been made but, to the devs if you're reading this, please reach out if you decide you need beta testers to avoid this kind of public backlash in the future.

how about "you two been bonded"? it means you and her get under skin to each other in a good way.

That would've made sense if they had grown closer together first but there were no scenes at all prior to that. For every LI, there have always been some sort of a touching scene where they either share a secret with eachother or go through an event together that brings them closer emotionally.

Nothing of that nature happened here, so seeing that sort of emotional outburst from the MC regarding an almost complete stranger just because of some "bond" placed upon them is completely unjustified.

Nothing of that nature happened here, so seeing that sort of emotional outburst from the MC regarding an almost complete stranger just because of some "bond" placed upon them is completely unjustified.

And hell, of his sudden protectiveness towards her and her sudden horniness towards him were both driven by the bond, I could understand that. It's a bit of a cheap story mechanic, but it's porn logic, so whatever.

Trouble is, we never see that being established! The only thing we ever see that is directly implied to be caused by the bond is Zycris thinking Illya is beautiful and her blushing, when they hold hands during the bonding ritual. That's it. If the game wanted to imply that the bond spell created a much deeper emotional attachment between them, despite being strangers, then it needed to take some time to show that. Have the group explore the city a little bit, or settle into the castle and get to know each other, or spend time planning Illya's royal visits to the surrounding villages. And during these scenes, establish the two of them getting closer, thinking about each other, maybe finishing each other's sentences or some other little cues to demonstrate that the bond spell is bringing them together. That way, when he erupts in anger over her being injured(even if it's only in a combat tournament) it makes sense!

Or, if you want to minimize the new renders and dialogues you have to add, simply show the mark on his hand glowing when it happens. That would feel a lot cheaper and lazier, but at least establish that it was because of the bond spell.

Honestly, I wonder if it would be worth reaching out to the devs to see if they want some assistance with the rewrite?

I know that probably sounds a bit insulting, but it's not an assumption of incompetence; rather, as someone else had pointed out, they previously were reluctant to rework the chapter because they were worried it would make the rest of the game take longer. If that's the case, having someone to storyboard and rewrite this update more fully would give the actual writer on the team more ability to focus on future updates. I wish I could make similar offers on the subject of rendering, for the same reason, but unfortunately I know fuck all about making scenes in HS2.

I'm using URM and I'm extremely attracted to Helena but I assume she isn't a character that the MC can have a relationship with? Helena is considered a side character rather than a primary love interest. However, there have been several recent suggestions that she will get dedicated lewd scenes, notably even featuring in a lewd from the recent update, bathing with the player and some other characters, playing a spicy card game, stripping nude and making out with the player before letting him massage her tits.

magically altered to look exactly the same!!!!! (yes, even the freckles) I mean, cmon. The concept of identical Twins ain´t that hard to understand xD
I´m just gonna sit back and enjoy the "fan fiction". Won´t call it anything else for now. Just replacing the model might be a step in the right direction, but without adding a shitton of additional scenes in even less time it´s sadly going to stay the mess it currently is.

The real challenge is going to be the point when they first have to write their own stuff. (So the first release after the rework iirc) And if it´s going to be anything like the last release, it´s gonna end pretty bad.

Much better! While the lack of freckles is sad(I really like freckles on a girl, they're cute!) it's a visual distinction to help easily tell them apart, and importantly it's a distinction with an explainable cause: freckles are caused by exposure to sunlight. It's entirely believable that Centoria, a ninja in training who leads an active lifestyle, would spend more time outdoors and in direct sunlight than the princess does.

My one real critique is that Illya's eyelashes look a bit too dark/thick, making it hard to see her eyes - hopefully that's just an issue with this specific render, and is less of a problem from different angles or with different expressions. Already we're moving in a positive direction.
