She likes work. Here is my save, if it helps...
I think I wasnt clear enough then, as I am not digging through that

You expect an answer to a specific problem without actually providing enough structured info.

You say she likes work but that was just a single EXAMPLE. For f.... sake make a screenshot of the entire char, instead of throwing crumps all the time. The more info you provide, the higher the chance someone will spot the issue. But if you just throw out bits and pieces every time, this becomes a choir and nobody likes those.

Hold your horses cowboy, i`m sorry, i thought if i give you my save you could load it and look at all her aspects directly from an ingame perspective without me having to post ANY other info or screenshots anymore and thus save time, i did not expect you to manualy look for the problem in the .txt file... I did not check her other opinions yet, it was not a priority, more of a curiosity and anomaly. She also likes service work and the job i offered her was waitress, so clearly there was no block there.

Later edit: On 27 December, after almost a year, she finally agreed to a job interview as a waitress!! Wooohooo!!
Later later edit: I`m extremely disappointed, mostly negative stats all over the board, she`s not even good as a janitor :ROFLMAO:

Seems there is a hole in the random bathroom sex scenario. It doesn't parse out people who are committed, against cheating, and ... well, my GF was giving a BJ. And it wasn't me. :)
In keeping with my theory that this is just a gap in the script, it doesn't go down as part of her sex rep.

Here's a problem/bug the commission have finally passed 3 laws for clubs to open all evenings, all nights and weekend late nights. All is well except, my club is the only one that opens for these hours and it's been that way for a few months now, is this happening to anyone else? I mean it's great for business but not great for gameplay.

There seems to be a bug with anal sex, in so far as, if you are engaging in anal sex with your partner and they are receiving, and your partner asks if you will change to having normal sex, and you refuse, then the game will revert back to anal sex, but will somehow believe that you were the one receiving anal sex, not your partner.

That may be what's happening, I complained about women suddenly fucking me and thought it was because they liked anal, I got ignored the second time I complained

I believe this part requires a general overhaul, since it doesnt acknowledge having both vaginal and anal sex in one session either. Meaning it will add 'had anal sex' if you choose to change to it but doesnt register a prior vaginal cream-pie for example. It also ignores a prior de-flouring of a virgin in the same session.

I tell you, it`s a revenge move because you dared to refuse her! "Oh, you don`t want to do what i say? Here, let me show you how it is to get fucked in the ass!"

NYB image pack #5: models Liz Jordan, Julie Kay, Vienna Black, Cory Chase, Sybil

headshots5.png

If you use all of the NYB and LFM sets, you may end up with some "separated at birth" twins since a few models appear in both (e.g. Cory Chase and Sybil).

I would like to suggest that you guys open up a separate thread for image packs (like it is done for Venus Club for example). Get a link into the OP and publish those packs in the new thread. Should make packaging and discussion easier and also avoids confusion with the 'base' stuff.

Yeah, that would be neat, i`ve been meaning to ask if someone has a link or a list or something with all the image packs...

Corrupted Academy has an online spreadsheet with all the mods, installation notes, last time updated, download llinks, etc. It would be very good and useful if you modders would also create such a spreadsheet, share it amongst yourselves and link it on the front page.

Take a look, use it as an example/template, see if it would be useful to have something like this for SCW as well.

1b. The dating was just an example, the actual point is that the help section seriously lacks info about the opinions. There are more than a few that are not that obvious and most of them for a new player are guesstimates at best. And i`m not talking about writing "X means that they like to do X", i`m talking about writing a little more info about how they work, HOW and WHEN those opinions apply and WHAT THEIR EFFECTS ARE. I open here a parenthesis just to give again a few example of questions that can arise ( not to change focus of the topic, but to make you understand my point from above of what kind of info you should write there): Does drinking coffee only makes them visit the coffee shop or do they actually drink coffee and get more energy from this? Does it affect their health, and if yes in what way? Do they spend money on this? Are there any other effects than negatively affecting their health from vegan diet, using drugs and alcoholic beverages? Does working out, swimming, yoga make them only visit their respective locations or do they actually do those activities and gain something from those activities? What do they gain? Do they lose energy doing this activities? Does their endurance, strength, fitness lvl or health increase? What does helping others do? What does taking risks do? Does shopping, luxurious clothes, living comfortably affect their happiness if they have a low salary? Do they spend money on stuff? If yes, does it show somewhere, like their luxury score? How does cold weather opinion affect them during winter? What do animals, exploring, joking around, new things do? When do hoarding food and supplies, sharing what you have, being on your own apply? What are the effects of voyeurism, homosexual sex and bestiality? And the list could go on, but i think i made my point already. Bottom line is, ANY info (even if you spend 3 hours only writing fairly obvious "X means that they like to do X") would be better than nothing at all, especially for new players, not to mention it would save you a lot of time in the future answering the same old questions again. As i said, you don`t have to write entire stories for them, just short descriptions about how and when they apply and what their effects are.

4. Her answer is: B. F. considered your suggestion but says she`s happy in her current situation and doesn`s feel the need to interview with you at this time. Same answer, no matter how many times i tried. She likes working. Elections in her district are coming up soon, i`ll try to see if she`s interested to become a commissioner. Just to refresh your memory, this is the one with the job of "unemployed" with a salary of 0$ and not grouped with the rest of the unemployed.

New suggestions:
1. Is it possible to add previous/next links or buttons on the character screen when you open them from the contact list? So you could click next and the next npc in the contact list would be displayed, instead of manually closing the window and opening the next one.
2. A cancel button on the new game - introduction window to bring you back to the main menu, it happened many times to me when i was tired or in a hurry to missclick new game instead of load game and had to close and reopen the game because of this.
All those questions you ask are things you need to figure out as you play the game. Let me explain how the likes work in general. There's a bunch of them 130 or so. The only thing those affect is to determine how an NPC behaves - either what they do or how they respond to you (or another NPC's request). When I write the code to make one such decision, I add a list of likes and how they affect the decision. For example, when a character deciding where to go, if they like coffee, then the coffee shop may get 1 extra point, while if they hate coffee it may get 2 less points. Those that like working out will prefer going to the gym. Does that mean that someone that hates coffee will never go to the coffee shop or someone that hates working out will never go the gym? No, because nothing is absolute and there's tons of other variables involved.

The point of these opinions is to create complex individuals that behave the same way every day and add some depth to their daily lives.

There's thousands of such decisions in the game. In general what matters should be fairly straight forward. Some appear a lot (like following orders for example) and others never or almost never (like animals or exploring). Some places may not take into account obvious opinions because I forgot about them when I was writing them.

Let me put out differently... when you are in date in a park and a stranger approaches you and asks to use your phone. You can say yes or no and the response will have a positive or negative opinion on your date. What do you think determines your date's response? It's helping others. If she likes to help others, she will like it when you do it. If she doesn't, then she won't. Every scenario works like. When you get to a scene when you and your date find a hidden cave and you ask to go inside to check out, then exploring will probably be a factor (Note: this scene doesn't exist so again, no need to worry about the exploring opinion yet).

That scene gets the characters drunk so they are more likely to do things they would ordinarily wouldn't do.

Need help TotalFluke

Can not load contacts screen. Save in attachment.
Did you try to delete any characters from the game by editing the save file? There's a missing character 64261. Do you have an older save? If so you may want to find the like that begins Person*64261* (the * refers to the field separator) and copy that line from that save file and add it to this one. If you don't not sure there's a way to fix it.

I'll look into it changing the giver/receiver there and the creampie stuff could be affected by that. I could see that not working right and may explain some complaints. However, not sure about the part about losing virginity. That happens as soon as the vag sex happens and don't see how the anal stuff that may come after could lose it. So if you have more details on this, let me know.

I give up. You are clearly beating around the bush and while only answering with vagueties and generalities, you carefully avoid answering the important questions. Yes, i already figured out that they`ll do stuff even if they hate it. Yes i already figured out they will VISIT the coffee shop, beach, gym, etc if they like coffee, working out, swimming, etc. Yes, i already figured out there are dialogue reactions and opinion changes. Yes i already figured out the obvious reaction to helping the stranger asking to use my phone and even some more answers for the questions i previously asked. I asked those questions for 2 reasons, 1. was because i genuenly didn`t know, or was not sure of the answer, but mainly 2. because i meant them as examples of what kind of info you should write in the help section for the opinions, which was and continues to remain my main point.

Yes, i have already figured out how the likes work in general, what i`d like to know is how they work in particular, each and every one of them! To give examples of what i mean by "particular", i repeat myself: In the specific cases of coffee and physical activities (working out, swimming, yoga, running, etc) do they actually do those activities, or do those opinions just move the npc`s around the map and that`s it!? If they indeed do those activities, do they gain/lose something from them (energy, health, abilities, skills, money, happyness etc)? In the case of an npc`s happyness, what(and how) are all the opinions that affect it? Does an npc that loves/hates cold/hot weather actually gain/loses happyines during cold/hot seasons, do they have any other effects, on their clothing for example? Does shopping/luxurious clothes/living comfortably have any effect vs. the npc`s income? What are the general situations in which each individual opinion applies and has an effect(and what is that effect)?

Again, please don`t focus on just this questions, they are just examples of particularities(IF they exist!) that are what i would like to see in a "help section" when i`m actually looking for help about how they work and their effects. If it has no effect whatsoever, it`s better to see "Not implemented" instead of wasting time changing it and then again wasting time hoping to see any results.

I could write questions about such particularities for each and every one of the opinions if you still don`t get my point, but i`ll repeat it just to be sure: Every game as complex as SCW is(and kudos for this, i really love it!) has a help section to explain and inform the new players about details and particularities of the various game elements, which at a certain point of complexity becomes a NECESSITY! And every game has it`s own elements, like this opinions in SCW. They are a basic element that influence the results of various actions or interactions, correct? Even the most simple ones, like working out, might have a different meaning for me if this is my first time playing SCW and i`m accustomed to a different meaning or result for "working out" from other games. So, my first step would be to check the help section and familiarize myself with all the basic elements of any complex game, to understand their meaning in this particular game, what their effects are, how to correctly use those elements to achieve my goals. That is why it`s called a "Help section" and not a "List section" like SCW has right now for the opinions...

Uff - please man. You really need to use your enter key more often. I am old and love walls of text but you put that phrase really to the test.

While I am partially agreeing to a point or two you make, you also have to step aside and reflect on what Fluke answered already earlier. Structure is half of any point and when you list occurrences, without stating they are just examples, it is possible to misunderstand your intent. I got acquainted with that with your B.F.France problem, as you stated it like a real problem, while in the end you claimed just curiosity.

Part of complex games is actually to figure out the mechanics. It is part of the gameplay. Only if it is impossible to figure anything out by observation one can make generalized claims of your kind. For real strategy games a player requires more insight into mechanics than in a casual game but finding the basics is usually still part of the gameplay. The player doesnt need to know exact percentages or modifiers unless you reach the point of min-maxing your game. That comes after one has mastered the basics though, which i dare say you have not yet.

Could the help be better? Sure. Is it clunky and not very user-friendly in it's current implementation? Absolutely. But there is at least some help in-game, unlike many other games that send you off to some out of game wiki, that is badly maintained if at all.

So the short of it is: dont mix an actual problem with a wish or a suggestion, as it is hard for any reader of your posts to see what the main objective really is at times. Try to solve a problem with methods and tools you have available and make a structured suggestion based on that experience how to improve the same in-game. But keep that stuff spearate from problems or actual errors.

Yeah, sorry about that, usually when writing longer texts i tend to write fast so i won`t lose my ideas and then later edit it with corrections/additions, i`ll work on this in my future posts. Also, english is not my native language, sometimes the thoughts, sentences, the order, the words, etc make more sense in my head in my language and then i just translate simultaneously while writing.

If you go back 3 or 4 pages to my original post, you`ll see that i was pretty clear in what i said and how it was structured. It all just snowballed from there.

Regarding the B.F. France problem, from my point of view it WAS a minor problem(that is why i reported it afterall, sorry if my process of doing so was not up to the standards, i`ll try to improve this as well in the future) but as it was not game breaking i didn`t sweat much over it and treated it just as a curiosity or minor inconvenience. But from a dev point of view, it should be a major problem if half of the npc`s generated were like B.F.France, no? For a dev a bug is a bug no matter how i treat it, right?

Part of complex games is actually to figure out the mechanics. It is part of the gameplay. Only if it is impossible to figure anything out by observation one can make generalized claims of your kind. For real strategy games a player requires more insight into mechanics than in a casual game but finding the basics is usually still part of the gameplay.
I`m pretty old myself and i have a pretty extensive experience with all kinds of games and also i`m a pretty smart and intuitive guy (not to brag, just so you understand you are not talking to a 15 year old kid). So my point is, yeah, i love playing games, especially complex strategy games, yeah, i love discovering how the mechanics work, no, i`m not a whiny little bitch that constantly complains when i don`t get it my way, yeah, i like trying to help devs improve their game (in my own way, through feedback, suggestions and talking about different problems and aspects)... but sometimes... sometimes... the frustration gets too high, you know? Trying to figure out some of those opinions is like showing a dog swimming to a person that doesn`t know how to swim and then pushing him into deep water and telling him "figure it out, i already showed you how to do it, use your common sense!". :ROFLMAO:

The player doesnt need to know exact percentages or modifiers unless you reach the point of min-maxing your game. That comes after one has mastered the basics though, which i dare say you have not yet.
I never asked for exact percentages or modifiers, just basic stuff, like in which situations those opinions apply and what are their effects.

Could the help be better? Sure. Is it clunky and not very user-friendly in it's current implementation? Absolutely. But there is at least some help in-game, unlike many other games that send you off to some out of game wiki, that is badly maintained if at all.

We are not bots to just report problems or errors in a log and then pause. The whole idea of a forum is that it is a place for discussions. And as an intelligent being i feel compelled while talking about a problem that i have to also offer solutions or suggestions, ask questions, offer examples... you know, have a conversation about it. From 100 people with bad suggestions maybe there comes the 101`st one with a brilliant one, who knows!? One thing is certain, nothing good will happen if we all just act as mindless automatons and never encourage discussions.

And my problem(same as many new players, i bet) was simple, i had too little info about those damn opinions. The solution - simple again - more info in the help section. And after all this talking, i still don`t know if they actually gain or lose something while "visiting" the locations (the coffee and physical activities question) or if those opinions just move the npc on the map and that`s all there is to it or if there are any OTHER effects (because i noticed they don`t gain strength or endurance on their own, only when i train them, so i tend to believe they don`t gain or lose anything while "visiting" locations, but then again, it`s better to ask and clarify than act on assumptions, no? There might be an effect that i didn`t even consider or thought about). I still don`t know what opinions influence an npc`s happiness. I still don`t know what opinions influence an npc`s health. Again, these are just a few examples of unknowns, the list could go on for the rest of the opinions as well. And while the strength and endurance gains would be relatively easy to spot and discover through playing, the happiness and health ones are much harder or nearly impossible to detect, not to mention energy changes. I open here a parenthesis to present another example/situation, about energy: I usually set all my girls with no opinion on coffee and love for working out, running, swimming and yoga(all 4 of them), believing this improves their health. But i also noticed they are also often very tired during late shifts. It it because i make them love/do too many physical activities(when one or two should suffice) and not let them drink coffee? They all are trained up to 100 endurance.

My questions were and still are only examples (as i said multiple times in my previous posts) of details and effects that IF they exist, should be in the help section, easy to be found, so that a new player that just started playing could make better and more informed decisions and have a better understanding of the game and have an easily accessible source of information about how the npc`s interact with the MC, between themselves and with their environment based on their opinions. But if those 130!!! opinions only move them around the map and change a few lines of dialogue and a few opinion points here and there... that`s just sad...

And while the strength and endurance gains would be relatively easy to spot and discover through playing, the happiness and health ones are much harder or nearly impossible to detect. My questions were and still are only examples (as i said multiple times in my previous posts) of details and effects that IF they exist, should be in the help section, easy to be found, so that a new player that just started playing could make better and more informed decisions and have a better understanding of the game. But if those 130!!! opinions only move them around the map and change a few lines of dialogue and a few opinion points here and there... that`s just sad...
My post was not about 'standards' but pointing out the lack of structure to make others understand what you actually want. If you are old as you say, then you might have kids too.

Kids just spill out large quantities of unstructured stuff and that is what one expects from them. But this is an adult site, so if you expect to be listened to and understood by others, then just spilling things out as they come up wont do you much good obviously, since you dont feel like your issues have been answered. I am not a native speaker myself and can apply some cultural filters to what others say but you made it very hard to follow any line of arguments.

That said: There is a save function and if you are so set to get the answer, why not simply save, do those actions and compare the outcome to the state before the save? This is a somewhat obvious thing everyone would do in cases where things are not obvious and one doesnt want to risk a progression.

Fluke is supposed to develop and it is nice that he interacts with the community, but he isnt supposed to be the interactive chat bot for everyone for every single issue either - otherwise nothing gets done. You claim to be interested in discussion but mark your post explicitly with 'this is for Fluke' to get answers directly from the dev only.Others would have answered you with their own observations or knowledge from digging through the files which you blocked right away with such marking.
