Have the Dev made any renders of Ines with longer hair? I was thinking about how this VN has a lot of girls with short hair (nothing wrong with, btw) and I was imagining some of the models with longer hair. Ines with really long, straight, jet-black hair with bangs would make most players fall to their knees and she would actually put up a fight with Els in popularity

Ines had longer hair before the story started, when she was still in school. Dialogue at the start of the game mentions this.

Hard no, friend. Absolutely not. The short look she has now is absolutely perfect. It's also so new to her as a style that I believe she said even her parents don't know about it yet, which very strongly suggests she was encouraged/required to keep her hair long for a long time. I hope that pixie shag doesn't go anywhere.

I'm pretty sure that if some ex-army sniper started shooting from the roof of some shopping center "occupational deformation" wouldn't save him from jail.
I'm not saying what she does is the nicest thing at all, however I find her reasoning is quite valid. She says she can't stand back while someone close to her heart is struggling. She's done that once, and she lost a sister in arms.
