For a game they expect to have a box price of $40 when complete, yeah it's a problem that at it's current quality level it wasn't even worth downloading when it was only wasting 17 gigs of your bandwidth, much less 26, at the price of free. For FOW mainly, seeing as this build didn't put them any closer to narratively finishing the game they aren't making any fresh money on.

How quickly you switched from "Heh, you'll all see when the update drops" to "Well what did you expect, for it to be entertaining? Next you'll want it to be engaging to play! Such entitlement!" the second it saw the light of day.

Would it be better if I mentioned Demonion, Dohna Dohna, or any of the other hundreds of hentai games with tons of real gameplay systems behind them? In a game where gameplay is primary focus and whatever lewd shit (porn), because some secondary, reward for milestones/achievement in the game. Yeah, it become a game with porn it it, not just a porn game. Such games is awful for people who just want lewd shit quick and dirty. There is games/vn (whatever to call it), on this site that just serve up one pussy after the other assembly line style... There is people that gobble this up, but for people that want an actual game that is poor shit. If I play games such as Mystwood Manor, MIST, or whatever. I don't play those games because they give a urge to start rub the helmet..

nothing of "porn ME" they bragged about: They never called it that, that is from plenty of articles who called it that. The Mass Effect of smut, the XCOM of smut, and that built false expectations. If you watched any interviews the devs did during the campaign, you'd have seen and heard what you were getting.

porn in games need plot: yes, sure, but not all of it. Take Treasure of Nadia for instance, there are sex scenes involved in the story, but there's also a booty call feature that just brings the girl of your choice to your room, and can then view a few scenes you unlocked throughout the game. That is essentially what Pandora is already.

The story of Subverse is rebelling against a puritanical empire using sexy women, and that isn't a plot?

Boring side quests, repetitive jokes and thats all: That is subjective, and your opinion. I don't know every character or meme they referenced or make fun of in the side quests or mention in the planet descriptions, but the ones I do, I enjoyed.

Mass effect exploration - yeah and that clearly ended up being the traveling between galaxies part. Less you were also expecting Mako driving levels, I don't think that was subject to exaggeration.

Also mantics were always going to have scenes, the milestone added additional ones.

This implies these games only treat the porn as a secondary reward and not one of the main things your meant to strive towards unlocking/farming. Subverse tots the fact that everyone wants to fuck throughout the story, as some sex scenes you can encounter in the game, has chars mention who they fucked and what they want to fuck, as has sex during cinematic cutscenes. It is a porn game that simply handles its porn implementation badly.

It sounds like you simply don't have much experience with hentai games that do have gameplay. There are lots of gameplay filled hentai games that are primarily focused around their porn content, yet people who primarily play them for porn are still able to enjoy the gameplay aspects of the game. Rance's sometimes awards you a sex scene (through the story) from finishing a battle/quest, while also allowing you to engage them through dialogue and side conversations. The same applies to Demonion. In fact, none of the sex is locked behind quests or awards. You recruit girls the same exact way you do in Subverse. You just have the option to do side content with them until they want to fuck you, then you can have different kind of sex scenes with them, or have them fuck other people/monsters. Demonion is actually very close to Subverse's format, except it doesn't use a weird Pandora-like system.

What point are you trying to make here? Didn't we already establish through the hundreds of pages in the thread that plenty of people came to Subverse for the porn that was advertised? For the 50th time, Studio Fow only shied away from porn being random encounters in the game's story a whole year after they originally advertised it as something we'd see. It's not his fault for buying the game under those pretenses and then finding out they scrapped those ideas.

Hell, people are already only comparing it to other VNs and kinetic novels narratively. And other arcade gameloop "games with porn" that did more with less. How many more handicaps do you want? It isn't even in the same conversation as a real "AAA Porn game" like Wildlife, despite being the same target demo with the same funding range.

You don't seem to appreciate how little people really expected out of Subverse for this new build. Expectations were so low most probably assumed it couldn't get any bleaker. Almost anything remotely positive would have sufficed. Anything, even just one of the myriad of known problems, actually addressed. Everyone here but Jushua and Vincent know that these games were heavily advertised as porn games and that's where it's hype and funding came from.
