this game its a wasted opportunity. just make the gameplay like summertime saga but in 3D and deep story or like last hope, its way better than space combat with boomer joke.

The fact that this game amassed such funding, yet they hire interns to work full time as a project for their resume should tell you all you need to know about where this game is headed.

These guys are known mainly for rape monster porn, are you really surprised they are scummy outside of their weird tastes?
They got millions $ of funding, this game could be just completely outsourced. Instead they just spend all money and did this sht.

Well, after V.0.4 removed half the space and ground missions from the game, (All Tier 2 missions + all plans for future Tier 2 and 3 missions) I was concerned about the games direction under the new manager. (rip Tibold.) The new dev diary sounds particularly concerning.

They intend to have fewer missions in upcoming updates - "Subverse is not a mobile game"
Fewer sex scenes during the story "Sex for the sake of sex is just going to exacerbate the problem".
Cancelled plans for future interactive sex scenes - "Considering the amount of effort required".
Are removing the ability to replay story missions, because you "Cant replay Virmire in Mass Effect or Ostagar in dragon age".
They're also developing a New Vegas-styled reputation system for enemy factions, a year into early access, for some reason.

Between feature-creep and content-removal, the new manager seems less competent than the prior one, which says something.

Half is a bit much, there were a few tier 2 missions added to Dragon.

Well reading it now...yeah pretty much looks like they heard everything.

Now to guess what the next complaint will be...something like 'they're trying to do too much?'

Definitely a mixed bag. Some stuff was good; as an example I actually am glad they are reducing the number of missions as there were way too many, and they were definitely repetitive and tedious, particularly the grid missions (sure wish they'd get the Captain into the grid missions to be a badass and earn some affection). Also glad they are taking at least part of our suggestions regarding the generation of more lead-in for the sex scenes with narrative tie-in.

On the downside, I think it's a bit silly that they keep harping on romance / dating, etc. They've set the tone for this game that it's casual sex, or is the ship in one big polyamorous relationship? (lol) This one definitely falls under the category of a potential conflict and it hurts the game overall due to conflicting items like this. It's either casual sex or romance and I think it's a tough sell to say you're trying to make a romance game when you've got the girls running around on the ship talking about fucking monsters, lol...I would have bought the game if it had been angled more at a romance game, but we'll see what they do - I don't see how they're going to pull this off convincingly without putting an option system into the game to de-canonize the monster stuff, but I'll wait and see. Another negative is removing replayable missions - this was a heavily requested feature. Not a good move to take that away. They're clearly trying to save money / dev time on this one.

That is part of what can happen in early access of a game. There is plenty of games out ther that never went into early access that had content re-written, ripped out, and mechanics redone several times over. If people now end up complain they try to hard to do better, well that is a new one..

My feelings are mostly good on this blog. A few issues I have are:
  • Removing replayable story missions feels unnessacary. I doubt I'd use it myself, so I'm not that fussed, but if it's not negatively impacting another part of development, I see no good reason to remove it.
  • What's the deal with the interactive Talon scene? Was it good? What did involve? I haven't reached that far, so I don't know what it means that we're not getting more, but it sounds bad that we aren't?
  • I actually really like that they're willing to slow down the sex when the plot calls for it as this thing is tonally all over the place and makes it hard to care when the story wants me too. The problem I have is that, there's no actually stopping that until the characters get more practical resigns. Whoever is charge of art direction doesn't seem to realise that a character doesn't need to be practically naked to be sexy. The Captain and Blythe just kill any sense of tension whenever they're on screen. I'd at least like the option to have a normal, non-panty mask for The Captain. Then you have Blythe with her armour that shapes itself to let her missile tits hang out. She looks hilariously stupid, and the scene acts like she's supposed be intimidating. Maybe it's just me, but I can't give a shit about the plot that FOW seems to want me to care about while everyone looks like the cast of a porno accidently arrived on the set of Star Trek, and just filmed it anyway.
Anyway, those are my opinions that I'm sure you all totally care about.

They didn't say they were removing all the replayable, just story critical ones. Which so far I'd say are the tutorial stuff and the boss fights. And the main reason people wanted replayable missions is cuz they either wanted to play more, or wanted to get gold. But as they stated, they wanna retool the system to be more than just earning shiny ranks.

As for romance...you can't be silly and fall in love at the same time? Sounds pretty unimaginative.

When you say "our suggestions", I assume you mean the ones that gave feedback on steam... If loud enough masses there ended up ask for pink unicorns... there would be pink unicorns :ROFLMAO: What people complain about in this thread means nill end of the day, unless they put forward the feedback where it counts.

We are actively developing DEMI and Lily’s devotion quests at the moment and as soon as one of them is ready, we will make an announcement about the release dates.
Looks like there will be a small update to play while waiting for a major update :v

I know. Still as rocky as this path has been, I think its for the better. I can only imagine the shitstorm has they stuck to their original plan and completed the entire game as it was with not as much feedback.

Well the devotion quests are purpoted to be as long as chapters themselves. And it makes sense for those two to be first as they're the first ones we acquire. I know DEMI's gonna tug at the heartstrings, what with her identity crisis.
