If you a pirate you need to download the entire thing again.... but its free right?
Sure, but a lot of "free" stuff comes with a patch too. And a pirate always choose the easiest way (if there's any). But I forgot this is not a cracker type of forum. I owe ya me remorse, aye?

I'm of simple taste. I got it on steam, I do 2 clicks and it update when a update is there.. Also, it's not about this not being a "cracker type of forum". It's about how steam does updates. It's not always about just adding new files or replacing files, but about inject new code into already large files to save you from download them anew.

next time I want to check the thread I'll bring some popcorn. it's getting interesting

the doujinshi they released for subverse looked dark enough. but I guess they simply dropped things like those. to be fair, I highly doubt they go for heavier stuff in a game with such a premise.
For the game, yeah, but I'm sure they're totally cool getting to back into the daaaarkness when they make films again. Now in shinier UE4 :p

Is there any patch only update for 0.1.3? Downloading another 30gb is not worth it, man :(
No, some games have patches that are easy to deploy such as VNs, but this one you'll have to download the whole thing again. If you are bandwidth-limited, I'd say just wait for the final version. Or if you are considering buying the game, read through reviews and think carefully about it before buying it so you don't end up feeling like you wasted your money later - I'd also recommend using GOG if you decide to buy it as they have (unless it's changed) a 30 day return policy regardless of play-time (and no DRM) which is significantly better than Steam's lousy return policy.

If they keep add 5-8gb to the game size for every update... Buying the game will seem like the better option unless you want to hold off until it's done and download the entire thing then.

That's why I literally said this in the post you quoted: " If you are bandwidth-limited, I'd say just wait for the final version. "

And that's ultimately what I'd recommend for bandwidth limited gamers as the better option, but GOG is the best course if they want to buy it so they can refund it within 30 days if desired. I have massive internet bandwidth so it's not a concern for me to re-download the game every time especially since I don't consider it worth any money at this point in time.

Maybe you should mention it's not actual gif loops as well.

What you expect means nothing, you are not the one that employ the people and pay the wages.
Technically I paid part of their wages since I bought the game on Steam thus making me a customer with expectations. Also, given the studio's history I think everyone expected more than animated gif loops. They used to make 40 minutes porn videos so animating stuff doesn't seem to be a problem for them.

Buying the game is not the same as buy stocks in a company. Buying the game doesn't give you any power over development either. If you believe that then you no better than the Chinese mob that is review bombing it atm.

You didn't pay notice to animations outside of Pandora then? Doesn't matter how you see it though, it's not gif loops, its real time in the unreal engine. Also if you expected every scene in pandora to be 40 minute videos you not really grounded in reality.

So as a consumer I don't have the right to criticize a product I bought and can see very clear ways to improve upon it? It's called consumer feedback and many companies consider it valuable, especially to projects that are still unfinished.

And I couldn't care less for the animations outside pandora. We both know the ONLY reason people buy this game and it's not for the lore or moving 3d models in the story mode.

I would be 100% overjoyed if it was just still images during story sequences and full on interactive videos in pandora. You can polish the game after finishing it, what matters now and what the game lacks imo is more mature content.

Also you seem very emotionally invested in this, are you an employee or have any stocks in the studio? Unironically asking.

I dunno getting enough woke/angry people to cancel shit could really hurt development.

Of course you have the right to criticize something if you unhappy over it. But you have no right to demand direction of development. You saying you care nothing about the animations outside of Pandora, but so far this is where FOW excelled with their work. Story, VA's. There is nothing out there that rival this. which a a lot of reviews on steam applaud them for.

You are mad because the game is not what you want it to be, or expected it to be. They are not making a interactive movie, they are making a game. That been clear from the very start.

The Chinese mob been doing similar review bombing on other games on Steam. If I recall right the game Little Witch Noberta something, got review bombed because some big mayhem over VA's wasn't approved by the Chinese fans. Those bad reviews was later removed by Steam. I guess we might see the ones on Subverse get removed as well. Quite interesting though as many of these bad reviews is of people that played for a like half a hour etc. Like someone is organizing them to buy the game, write a bad review and then refund the game.

Oh and in the term of woke.....(which by the way is a word with origin in fight against social injustice). That doesn't fit these Chinese players at all.

The number of positive reviews in all of this that for most parts is giving the finger to the Chinese, show a lot of people care about the game and FOW though.

They could do way worse to the team. I wouldn’t be surprised if they get ransomware hacked and get locked out of all of their computers, have their sensitive HR information leaked to the public, etc.

Just wondering, how long does it usually take for Steam to take action against such review bombing?

No idea. For noberta it started early October, and checking now it's gone. So probably some time.
FOW is most likely a smaller company than Nobeta Devs and Subverse obviously has a much smaller reach than Nobeta since it's an adult game, so I hope the review bombing does not do any significant damage to the development of the game by the time Steam takes any action.

Noberta just a small indy dev afaik. Probably about same size or smaller than FOW.
