After almost 500 pages of messages there's bound to be people complaining, a lot.
I think people should cut StudioFOW some slack, though not too much.
Sure, the game's lacking in certain areas and scenes, gameplay is somewhat boring and often repetitive and the story might drag on, at least before we see the full release, but consider that it's the first giant project they do; they've never created a fully fledged out game, only animations, and even with all the funding in the world they wouldn't instantly create masterpieces.
It's kind of like Friday Night Funkin', where the devs created something for a gamejam if I recall correctly, and then saw the support to make a full game out of it. Obviously, things are difficult and slow because it's abnormal to expect everything to work smoothly from the get-go.
Subverse already puts a lot of effort in a lot of places other porn games don't, and it definitely erects a new standard, I think they'll address most of the issues either in the full release or after.

One thing I genuinely don't get though is why people complain about the dialogue. You saw it's a "Deadpool" styled dialogue game with shitty jokes and self-awareness, what else did you think you were signing up for?
Reminds me of Breathedge, it's Subnautica in space with this exact type of humor, and people who play it, knowing this,
still find ways to make it bad. Dude, that's what you downloaded.

Sure, but every single person in the world would agree on the fact that a porn game should be updated with new porn scenes. It's been more than a full year since the last addiction, it's understandable if people might be upset. At the end of the day only a minority is here for the "plot", most people play porn games to masturbate.
A few reused scenes with different characters once in a while would have sufficed, they're low effort and keep the playerbase engaged.
Also while some scenes are decently hardcore (not hardcore, just passable), StudioFOW is knows for their really hardcore CGI, the ones in the game are in most cases extremely bland. Now I get that being a mainstream project that's also on Steam the risk of putting some scenes where consent might "gray" might be too much, but still it's what I expect from StudioFOW. The Fortune with dripping mascara scene that was shown in the trailer still isn't in the game and at this point it probably never will be.

I agree that some people think the game should basically combine honey select freedom with HD and high quality CGI with no compenetrating textures and perfect body physics, but at the same time StudioFOW really is dragging this for far too long. It shows that they lack vision, they didn't properly plan the game ahead of time and just went "with the flow", which is the worst decision you can make in a videogame.

So when 1.0 hits and all the remaining scenes are added, there's tooootally gonna be an about face from every person that spoke about scene count, right?

Also dragging it out is a reach when they're on the verge of finishing a game of this size within 5 years. Whereas numerous other games on this site (which also have Patreon revenue, FOW doesn't), have been in development for far more time.

Their aim was to make an actual game, that contained lewd content. Not porn that included a game, you're playing the wrong game if that's your expectation. They gave lots of focus to the plot, gameplay, and all other non lewd content for this reason. Just because the game is on here does not mean it's trying to fall in line with the rest. So the plot is very much important, they would not waste time on VA's if it wasn't the case. They could just add text like other "porn games", but VA's along with dialogue animations allow for a better story telling experience which enriches the lore, that is what they want. They also balance, bugfix, and introduce new games modes because they actually want you to play it.

They did plan it, you are just not the target audience. You just mentioned Honey Select which is a sex sim, that one is meant for you, go touch urself to that one. This is meant to be a funny RPG/SHUMP not a sex sim, not top of all that it's still in early access, meaningly this is not even the final product. The purpose of early access is to let players help test the game before its actual release, this is why some dialogue scenes don't have a background yet, this does not mean it will stay this way on release. They put together the core components first and polish it up after, no point in having it fully polished now when bigger parts of the puzzle are missing. Same way you don't put your shoes on before your clothes, you put the main outfit on first and then the shoes that best fit with it, followed by any accessories. So unless its stated by them, anything that is left out won't be for long, many things will be added on release. Which they already announced would be in Q4, so around October.
