Its a bit ironic you put those two comments together. Because you essentially explained why there isn't an abundance of sex in the story...because there's an actual game to play.Subverse is basically the same as the "complete puzzles to unlock h-cg kind of game", which is utterly disappointing.
They could've integrated sex into the story, like most Japanese h-games out there. Heck, even something as simple as hole-dweller can integrate sex into its "story". Subverse would've been better as a series of animated shorts or movies instead of this crappy game we have now.
Most japanese H-games don't really have gameplay, and when they do its often something incredibly simple. Whereas this is a full on game with an legit plot, cinematics, and gameplay that actually takes time and effort. Ergo why the smut that matters is in the story, while the rest acts as a reward on the side you can access whenever.
