So not just this game but also Evenicle now on GOG? I wonder what changed for them to now be fine selling games with explicit sexual content in them? But it's about time I'd say.

I want to leave a review for this game but can't seem to do so?

It's a difficult one. I do think people are overly harsh on this title because of the hype it generated. It was never going to be a fully fledged epic with adult scenes. I think most people expected the next mass effect, but a game like that has a team 10 times the size of studioFOW and they just inflated their hopes too high. It almost fashionable to bash this game currently.

For what it's worth, I utterly adore this game. Yes the gameplay is a bit repetitive, but the grind is enjoyable in a sort of "collectathon" way. I enjoy raising up the devotion to access PP to buy more scenes. Would I have liked the scenes to have been implemented into the story and gameplay better? Sure! Do I want longer scenes? Sure! But I will say that the scenes that are there are incredibly high quality and poles apart from some of the higher rated titles on this website. I love things like Our Red String, Summertime Saga, What a Legend, you know, the usual! But I still hold Subverse above all of them from the scenes alone. They're absolutely excellent! Much better than the usual still scenes and Daz3D models (or even worse, Honey Select or Koikatsu) and the team clearly put a lot of time into creating wonderful unique characters.

It's still early access. There's still time master this product. And in all honesty we should be supporting and protecting a project like this, because if it kicks off properly it proves that adult content in games is a profitable avenue for companies to pursue. I backed this on kickstarter and will continue to back and support this game throughout its development.
If it's bad it's bad, they got quite a bit of investment and a lot of support for it, so people can criticize it however they want.

GOG never taken a hard stance against games with adult content afaik. That platform always been about have DRM free games and cater to old/retro games as well.

It’s established that the mantics are essentially directionless minions, requiring someone to wear the dominus collar to command them.

so when it comes to Pandora, either the captain off screen or the ladies themselves are directing the action.
NICE. So if the captain or the girls control the mantic/xenos with that collar, means that those things are nothing more than oversized dildos lol
Then I can look past them.

But does the game have others screwing the girls tho ?
Since the xenos/mantics are mindless dildos controlled by the captain or the girls, I dont see that as NTR. So Im fine with it.
But are there other people or creatures that fuck the girls ?

unclear. We see there’s these non-descriptive green looking dudes during some of the crew scenes and cinematics. Dunno if they’re considered Mantics or not, they could just be filler for the multi-person scenes.

Of course, everyone's allowed their opinion. I just think the hate it gets is way more than it should be.
If this game was being made by a standard patreon adult game account it'd be rated one of the highest rated games on here. But because it's a well known company with a large backing people seem to be jumping down their throats unnecessarily. Honestly the quality of game subverse is leaps and bounds above even some of the best games uploaded on this website.

They are called drudge and are described as the lowest form of mantic on the ship and little more than glorified janitors.

Not really, as a game maybe, but as a porn game hell no.

Well guess what if ppl can't rub one out to a porn game then its a shit porn game, and thats the sentiment I have with subverse.
And then we gone the full circle again. It's a game with porn, not a porn game. It's kinda funny though, people that bought the game on steam seems to accept the game for what it is and not what they want it to be, meanwhile those that pirate it for free have far more complaints about it's not what they want it to be.

You never hear people who refund it like me, and a lot of people pirate it before buying it. Kinda funny isn't it.

"a lot of people who pirate before bying", is a truth with modifications. Piracy these days is not what it used to be in the glory days of the likes of piratebay. But still if you look at sites such as svscomics and the download count on typical patreon games you also find on this site. That there is people who will support and back something after trying, sure, but majority will just keep download for free, that is the nature of piracy.

When I was younger and economy wasn't all that, I pirated more because I had less spare funds to use on what I wanted. As I grew older and ended up with more spending money, I stopped pirate just about anything I could get my hands on as well. As for these adult games, sure, I download and pirate just as anyone else for most parts but I try to support games I find worth the while too. Some games I never supported, but ended up buy when they did appear on steam.

But to get back on track. You don't really see the shit show about the game on the steam forums as you done in this thread. And in general it seems like the feedback from people in this thread who bought the game seems far more positive than those who didn't.

I have the same point of view.

Thing is that if the 0.1 version of Subverse was released as a demo for advertising a new Patreon from an unknown studio, everybody here would have gone crazy and the game maker would probably reach a 100 K / month income over time.

There would still have a lot of critics of the Pandora System, but far less negative review.

But it didn't. Instead 0.1 version of Subverse was released almost TWO YEARS since it's Kickstarter ended raising over 2 million dollars. Now, even after two and a half year the game is fundamentally broken in one aspect (and it's selling point), with one of the worst implementations of sex scenes in a video games ever.

Shills in this thread are calling it "a video game with porn". First - no one gave a fuck about space and ground combat when it was on Kickstarter. People saw Studio FOW and donated money to get a porn parody of Mass Effect world. Second, after all that developement time it's a piss poor videogame that treats it's porn like it's ashamed of it. Porn in Subverse is a ginger bastard child hidden in a closet called "captain's quarters".

Current developement speed indicates the game maybe getting finished in 3-5 years, we'll see if it can reach all-round mediocrity by then.

Dropping my 0.3 save here. (Put it in ...\AppData\Local\Subverse\Saved\SaveGames)
- Main quests completed
- Spaceship (F3NIX) upgraded
- All Mantics unlocked
- All Pandora scenes unlocked

Haven't done many sidequests, Haven't done any gifting things, and gallery things.

Adeptus Steve with Wild Life, raised over 2.5 million USD over 2 years on Patreon... Where is the shit storm there? Give creators such as him a pass because.. oh just another patreon dev? The "they raised 2 mill" narrative, is just beating a old drum by now. In regard of production value and monetizing when looking at some of the top earners on patreon when it come to adult games. Subverse come out far better in regard of how much funds been put into the project by far.

Re-visit their kickstarter page... the things you don't care about.. displayed there.... The early beta some had access too was also about the things you don't care about, but hey. If people bought into the kickstarter to get a porn parody of mass effect.. frankly they would be some marbles and screws short...

Exactly. Sure the lack of a free camera is a shame, but you compare the animations to that of something like The Twist and like... how can you even complain? That game has such wooden animations and a really uninteresting plot but people praise it.

The attention to detail in ALL of the Pandora scenes is honestly astonishing. Nothing looks out of place, nothing looks wooden, the sound design and the lighting is all so wonderfully crafted. I just can't see what people hate about it. Back that up with interesting gameplay and a really tongue-in-cheek, entertaining and raunchy story and you've got one of the best quality adult games out there.

It's fascinating because this sort of game should be being praised by this community but everyone's tearing it apart... Like this game is literally designed for this sort of community. I suppose it's like a state of the art sports car getting flack from car enthusiasts for not being fast enough...

Well guess what if ppl can't rub one out to a porn game then its a shit porn game, and thats the sentiment I have with subverse.
I'm amazed that you can't. Honestly, the animations in this game have done something to me and I literally can't stop watching them. But again, that's your opinion.
