RPGM Succubus Covenant Generation One: The Cursed Forest [Ch. 5] [Olympus]

To me this is just another classic case of a developer biting off more than they can chew. Warlock Saga is kinda meh and I don't really understand its desperate need for existence since Succubus Covenant is not finished and Eden Crest was uhhh...something that happened I guess..

I always assumed that if we were going to get multiple games, it would be a generation/era type of thing with the Succubus Covenant intro showing advanced humanity that it can basically tap into the past lives of people. So I thought we were going to get like games during like medieval, steampunk and modern era etc and not multiple side games in the same bronze age one.

I just don't understand why developers are so obsessed with making so many different games in as little time possible, ending up with unfinished or unsatisfying products and overall turning a fanbase on its creator for not properly working on the main product, we see this happen again and again on this forum.

I told myself that "I will wait for chapter 5 to review the game."
Man what a wait it has been..
By no means do I think Zion is a bad guy, but christ this developer trend is getting real old real fast.

Anyone following me on the main pages know that I'm constantly updating them on the development.
I already asked for a status rectification to avoid confusing people.

For the fans, I'm really thankful for your patience.
I developed EC too fast and it caused me to burn out. And when I returned to SC, it was to finish chapter 5 which has a lot of teasers (including a lot of art) that will link to SC2 and Warlock Saga, so I needed to be extra careful with that too to connect the story right. Plus all the stress of having to relearn the game after such a long while without developing it.

A new chapter is very close and I appreciate all the support through the years. After SC1, I'll go back to Warlock Saga, which all art is already done, and the art for chapter 1 will be updated as well with the new artist, so basically, 2 chapters in 1 art-wise.

Along with all the crap that I read about the ordeal in the discord in the others comments, taking you seriously is a joke. For clarity, Zion himself didnt insult but rather complained about the critics here. "Subhumans" was said by some of his discord members.

Ok so...lemme get this straight. Someone comes here to complain about recieving certain treatment, and makes accusations about a dev's character based on that. That's fine.

Someone comes on to point out that they've done the same thing, and hasn't recieved such treatment, and such accusations don't seem to hold merit...that person is a paid shill and should shut up because nobody cares the first guy's still totally right?

I can't believe that even after 4 years there are still people simps defending and supporting this guy. When I supported my first kickstarter and got my tabletop game after 2 years of excuses I said no more to crowdfunding garbage and this thing has 4 years and looks terrible, artist downgrade and the worst gameplay i ever seen. Unfortunately, the reality is that there's a sucker born every day so this creator will keep selling hopes and dreams and the simps will fall for it. Once their wallet starts hurting they immediately start acting, that's just the way these people operate.

At first when I discovered SC I was thinking about supporting Zion but the development was way too slow, and I was like "Nah, not gonna support him unless he speeds it up". The development only got slower since then lol

Also the art downgrade made me not want to even see the scenes with succubus, I was only focused on fighting, and because losing is hard in this game once you have decent gear I never saw 60% of scenes. I just played it like a normal RPG, and it's not a good RPG comparing it to RPGmaker standards even.

Christ on a bicycle, Zion have you learned NOTHING from the discourse going on in your own game thread for the past couple of years? people don't care about the sidegames, your crown jewel and your claim to fame has been and continues to be Succubus Covenant, hell the fact that its thread remained alive when it got no updates for the longest time ever should be a testament to just how much people like it in comparison to warlock saga or eden crest.

Take my advice, outsource your sidegame development since you already do that much with the art, and FOCUS on succubus covenant for crying out loud.

Then he'll do just that, if it was only ever about doing side projects for fun then his work ethic and progress wouldn't be so abysmal, hell even if it is what you say, then he should give SC some proper love to garner some much needed good will and get more people onboard and then he can turn his attention back to his side games.

Get more people on board? Have you missed how many people just disappear whenever they feel like doing that? It's a nightmare if you have multiple people around and they can run away or become special overnight. Quite the joy to manage a project if that happens more and more often.

That is a good idea with too much free time for artist he can do animations. But yeah I dont think so. Zion ideas is all about reducing works and prolong pateron.

Shouldn't you share that with the man himself? Since you know so much it surely would chance everything. Instead you share it with people who are not involved with the game in any relevant way.

I've been following this thread for years, I check it at least twice a week. if my intention was just to stir shit then you'd surely find dozens of inflammatory replies of mine in this thread, yet somehow that is not the case.

I never joined the discord, your assumption that I had gotten banned and that it must've been because I "messed up" is in very poor taste and does little to help your credibility that is already in shambles.
