In general humans like what they want and dislike what they don't want.
It is more tolerant and logical to "leave them be" but a majority of humans are not really logical.
That is why in reality gambling, scams and frauds are even possible as a concept.
And btw. if you'd want the dev to include a full femdom route for you and your compatriots you essentially are asking/demanding that s/he builds another AVN on top for a small fraction of the playerbase as with branching early on the "main story" makes no sense anymore.
In this case it would mean that MC would not search for ways to escape his contract in the first place.
Please keep in mind that this is a "fledgling dev" that more or less just started out and this is the first bigger and/or public project. Overextension is one of the reasons why the games from those devs have a high likelyhood of becoming abandoned. They simply "bite off more than they can chew" to please the majority of the players - including the fetish players - and the game they develop suffers as a whole.
In general, for more games goes abandoned by developers not fully grasping that making a game in general takes time, likely cost money if you're going to delegate some work and this can be without multiple paths. Sure some do get abandoned due to making the games too large, but many developer intentionally make the game too large, to get a an income from the game for a very long time, sure they would love to finish their game (is what they say), but when a real job and life takes priority, then the game will be dropped.
They can just get tired of the game or lose the spark for, due to many reasons.
Just as you can scale up, you can as easily scale down or put some of the paths hold.
Having several path and IF scenarios, can create a large userbase for future games and get the attention of more sponsors, which allow for a more stable income, along with interesting paths for the developers too.
So more paths, allows for a more interesting development, especially if one path gets you bored or if you get stuck, then you can focus on another path.
Some developers, do get tired of their games or possible lose their ability to write an interesting story for the rest of the game and then starts to create an entire new game. Often, some are so interested in their new ideas, which require a new game, that they dump the current one.
A good example of a developer over extending itself is for the game "A new life in submission", mainly a femdom game (two routes exist, possible three), but many of us said it would be hard to develop such a large game as you would re-use the same fetish and similar scenes too much, it would be better to create 12 games, about one per character, possible one later which combines a second year in school, otherwise you would have to limit content for most characters and limit the game, due to that you need some parts to be unique for several characters. But the developer wanted to develop the game like this and he abandoned it, saying that he wanted to come back to it, but it was to hard on his own.
I play more than femdom games, I play NTR, rape/maledom, I love tentacle games too (which would fit well in this game with some yuri content or rape, possible through familiars), horror-themed and many other genres too, but can ignore the general vanilla games, If I see the femdom tag, I'll likely try every route, even the one for vanilla content.
I talk somewhat openly here, however I bet that the majority always stays silent.
So the ones, especially on this forum, who're into different genres in their personal preference, are likely far larger than you imagine and likely larger than the default vanilla genre, if you combine the different genres, then the vanilla section is likely easily outdone. The difference is, that the majority don't talk (most users likely aren't going to go into details of their kinks or argument about it) and many starts to move out from vanilla after that have played a lot of games from it.
You aren't here to get one game, you get a buckload of games and over-play until you more or less gets used to the games and starts to look for more unique ones.
So introducing different genres, can increase the player base by a lot.
A fault many developers do, is that they don't take feedback, shield themselves from the outside and limit themselves to sort of a cult, which tends to cut possible sponsors, get you people who complain as soon that you create something which isn't in their taste (this is a small minority who makes themselves heard, a lot, like a fans who would ruin the game for their own taste) (I suggest more genres, I never complain on extra genres that others request or that the developer suggest). Imagine being a developer and running out of ideas, then asking your cult about what they would want more in the game and they're all saying: "Just continue what you're doing, limit yourself to this genre and don't step outside of it". Imagine yourself, this is often were you drop the game, slowly walking away from it. The same can go for a cult in the femdom genre, so it's always important to avoid the formation of cults.
In general, more players will stay than those who'll leave, when different or very different content are introduced and in general you will of course get more players and sponsors. Of course you don't need the most extreme parts of a certain genre. Different genres can naturally blend in with each other and often lifts each other up, when you combine them and create the possibility for a far better story.
At the same time, it could be said that with your words, you limit the potential of the developer and the game, as it sounds like you're into the maledom or vanilla genre and want this. From what I can see, the developer seems to plan to include femdom scenes, it feels very clear from what I can see and it it's a perfect genre to combine in that game.
I play maledom games too, but with small developer and sandbox or VN games like this, they tend to become horrible in my view (it's like the same sentences and scenes are reused too much). When a large developer makes games like Night shift nurses or the Kizaru seriers, then it is better, but they have a much better red-thread in their movies (I have mainly only seen the movies and played one game believe) and can be a bit more shorter.
When small developers makes very long maledom or vanilla games and don't include a lot of other tags, then you tend to get bored and drop the game. Creating a red-thread game which is on-spot all the time, is very hard and shouldn't be attempted at ones first game. So I believe that more genres and a few routes can be useful for developers working on their first games, then they can ask sponsors, what kind of content should be made into a priority and shift what they focus on, to keep more sponsors staying and own motivations up. Remember, what're you going to include, when you have overused a genre, scenes and text and just can't create anything new in the game?
But we'll see what the developer do with this game.
But remember just as asking for more genres is bad in your eyes, it's equal as bad to suggest or request that the developer limits themselves. I have seen developers who don't take feedback, those who listen to a cult, where 2-3 people starts whining as soon that the developer suggest new ideas (these people are rarely the majority), this is where a developer needs to request that they begin to sponsor more and help out to come up with ideas, which often are already over-used. Unless the game gets axed, which tend to piss people off.
Nothing wrong with your opinion, but I believe it's far better to include more genres and possibilities, where you can just chose skip when you don't want to see the scene or make a choice where it's avoided.
Femdom, don't have to be blind submission, it all depends on the writer.
Same goes for maledom, which I feel is often scenes with the same text and being to overused.
And a again, a good game often mix different genres, femdom, maledom and ntr aren't the only genres out there.
Also, when you have played a lot of game, like one do after stumbling on this forum, then I believe that the majority, gets tired of Vanilla, because we always expect more. So to catch the attention of players who played a lot of games, it's easier to create unique situations, with many genres.
I love some CG from some vanilla games, but I just don't get myself to play them even if I want to and I'll spend time working or looking for other games instead.
I have likely repeated myself, due to that I'm up on overtime.
Nothing ill against you, I just tend to write lengthy posts when I write and I can be very analytical.
Porn is about my primary hobby/addiction, it's a very important subject for me, which means a lot of text.
