Both. They only have a few differences.

No, the story takes a different direction in every game. Two different games, with almost the same content in the beginning, but since Ep 3 you can't compare the two any longer storywise. There will always be shared content but different arcs and chars. Nothing you can combine with a simple patch as some users thought before here.

I support the dev on SS. He's working on Ep 4 now. He doesn't give dates really. He gives video updates that tell us where he is in his process for a release. Based on an update he gave us yesterday, he is currently working on rendering the release.
