There was no sexy content at all in the first 3 updates. The closest thing we had was walking in on Mia while she was changing, and the one or two renders of Bree locked in the bathroom where it is hinted that she's gonna use her comb to... caress herself.I could agree with you, but of the 4 chapters this game has, the first 3 of were small chapters and they were HIGHLY praised by the players, besides the complaints they were small. Devs didn't feel forced to rush a sex scene in any of them, we DO had progress with the girls and i can't remember no one complaint the flow of story by the time they were making small updates. And if anyone play the game rigth now, with those 3 small chapters together, the flow of the story keep working out. So anyone who skipped these updates, when finally played it with the 3 chapters together won't feel any problems with the flow and will have played more content in a row.
So no, i don't see any of these supposed issues with small updates that you're pointing out in the small updates that SH devs made. Just like i also don't picture these issues arising if they'd kept the bi-monthly releases. In fact, they proved with the first 3 chapters they are able to provide very quality updates in regular time. The only downside is they were small, something easyly solved if people followed the advice they are given now to whom complaint about the long time this current update is taken: be patient, wait for the devs release some more content and then played it all together in a row. But instead, they overhelmed devs with complaints about the updates sizes in the surveys they made after every update (Correction to your wrong information: there was never a poll to decide about the updates, you can even check their patreon to see that) until they finally decide changer their original vision and thanks to that, here we are. Good riddance.
Those were the very first hours in the house, so of course no dev in their right mind would think about rushing a sex scene there. If the tiny updates had gone on, I'm convinced something along those lines would have happened sooner or later, probably before they hit the 1-year mark: every tiny update with its own sex scene, whether or not it was warranted.
And the same regarding plot progression. What happens in those 3 updates put together? Plotwise, barely nothing, and they were the result of X months of development for the first release plus the 4/5 months of the next two. That would not have been sustainable in the short run. IMHO, it's barely sustainable now, when the first day is going to end after over 1.5 years of development.
About the poll, I stand corrected. I thought I had read here back in the day that they eventually posted a poll after receiving a number of complaints or suggestions. OK, so the people who didn't vote but said that bigger updates would be better were positively not thinking that the game would move from 1 update every other month to 1 update every year.
The most important point I want to make here is that people who argued for bigger updates were not that retarded, and people who wanted to stick to shorter updates were not such geniuses. It feels like some people always come here to ridicule those people who weren't happy with the tiny updates with a good ole "I told ya!"
I'm not happy about the outrageously long time myself, and if I need to be brutally honest I think it's been a total blunder from the devs. That being said, the devs have acknowledged their mistake multiple times and expressed their determination to change their approach to something more reasonable. I will wait for the update, play it, assess if it was worth the time invested in it and then hope the dev's will indeed stick to a new more sensible planning.
The second chapter of Race Of Life was just released after A WHOLE YEAR. It has over 4,000 renders, a crazy number of animations, a bunch of sex scenes, and everyone who's already played it is saying it's the bomb. If it had been released as two different updates they'd still have been massive and satisfying, and the dev's already said that they'd be doing things differently from now on. I'm expecting something similar with SH.
