Status Update #18
Hello, everyone!
This week we've been focusing on coding and SFX. A fresh batch of renders was polished and post-processed, which meant they needed to be prepared for their final resting place. The cold, dark archives of Summer Heat.
Aside from coding and SFX, we've also been working on some script and dialogue enhancements. There were some areas where Finnish grammar has caused some proper destruction of the English language. Sometimes it's probably quite offensive to any grammar police out there, and those are the parts we try to shield your eyes from. We're not native speakers after all, but we try our best to make the dialogue flow as naturally as we can.
This weekend we'll continue working on a bigger scene. It's a bit messy, but we know how to make it work with repeating angles and renders. This approach doesn't have many downsides since the branches are separate, except that it might look a bit confusing in the folders. But that doesn't really matter since the renders are not meant to be viewed from there anyway.
Angles & thoughts
Back in 0.1 we started the game with all the renders in first person POV, and from there we have progressed into a mix of pretty much all angles. For 0.7 we've kept the hybrid approach with a little bit of everything. We've been switching the angles up when necessary or when focusing on something, like some totally necessary shots from behind.
