Status Update #42


Hello everyone!

This week we've been focusing on coding, SFX and music. We have a couple of scenes that require new music and we've been searching for the right fit for a while. Originally we wanted to make a short cinematic clip for 0.7 but the scene plays out fine with just renders too. But what if, the voice whispers... Well, maybe another time.

We also worked on a couple of earlier scenes and changed some renders around for better visual flow. A couple of mistakes were also found along the way, and some gaps that could use better transitions for that smooth body language. Moments in general that could benefit from a little extra touch.

For 0.7 we've also adjusted our screenplay style a little bit. Some moments are more sparse than others, mostly to move things along a little bit quicker. We're hoping to hear your thoughts on this approach in the post-update survey as well. How it feels, is it an improvement or a downgrade, etc. It's not too different from what it is now, but thoughts are always welcome and appreciated.

We also finished a big scene this week, and that will get animations next.

This weekend we'll continue the work on Bree's scene as well as some dialogue fixes.

You just forget to mention the last upadate was way shorter but it wasn’t released any faster. In fact, it took the same amount of time than the bigger 0.5 update. So no, they didn’t fullfil their promise of shorter but faster updates, not even once.

True, the guy that posted that comment about how the last update was short forgot to mention that it took them a year to release it.
