VN Ren'Py Summer Heat [v0.6.1] [Naughty Fox Games]

I'm against criticizing/rating/opinioning a game just because it "has potential". But I'm not against saying it has potential. And, this game does.

-The renders are wonderful.
-The girls are incredibly beautiful. Personality wise not much has been shown of them, just a small glimpse of what could be. For example, Mia is a sweet and nice girl. Eve will be the typical difficult girl to get to know because she is 'unsociable' and Bree is curious and outgoing. Sophie seems to be more measured, but not introverted. Helen will be a 'headache', perhaps. The Milf in the car is pretty flirty, but she looks like she'll be a secondary character. And MS Hill... We haven't seen anything about her, but she seems nice.

-The MC. I like him a lot. He doesn't have a very defined personality, which I really like. He's not the typical shy guy, nor is he a pervy creep guy. Like I said, he's pretty nice. It's very much appreciated to have a 'normal' MC, instead of an alpha male attempt or a stalker pervert who only thinks with his dick.

-Mike seems like a good friend. I like him. And it's clear that Mr. Miller is a man of mystery. I'm sure he's involved with whatever the VN mystery to be solved is going to be. Maybe Ms. Hill is involved, too. But I hope she's not that involved. I want her to be a good person. lol

-This is one of those games where I'm "disappointed" that it won't be harem. To have so many beauties together and for it not to be.... Anyway. Likewise, it's one of those games where I'll definitely have a playthrough for every romanceable girl. I just hope that, at the very least, we get a chance to 'test the waters' with all the girls and have intimate moments with all (or most) of them before we can decide who we'll keep. Let the Dating Sim part be noted.

Anyway, that said, I think I have absolutely nothing bad to say. Genuinely loved it despite it being a short version. I'm intrigued for the horror tag and excited for the romance one. I really have a lot of hype to see the development of the game, the main story and most of all, the romances with the girls. I predict that this game/VN will be very successful and I wish it to be so!

There's no default name, but there is a small selection of names to cycle through in the start!

Summer Heat has no Mac support, unfortunately.

I am in no way suggesting you should ever feel obligated to do so, but FYI there is a tutorial here on F95 for how the same code you already have can be used to work with a Mac. But I can see reasons for not supporting Mac as well, so this is just an informational post.

Yeah but, usually writers do have a name thought out for the MC while they write the story, like if its in America lands or the sorts, I doubt most would name their MC xXx_PussyDestroyer_xXx for example so please do share whatever the actual default name is please, because I cant came up with one that feels right

Well, when I first started, the randomly generated name was "Elliot" so for each successive playthrough I did, I just manually entered the same name. You could always take Melville's cue and "Call him Ishmael".

Literally not enough to decide if the story is good so far. Renders are good, and Translations/text have no issues so far. The in game Ember app has an issue though (Won't let me click interested in women). And I don't know if it is because of the horror tag or not, but I already am feeling creeped out and literally nothing has happened yet lmfao. I mean, EVERYONE stares at you. THINK about it...This about to be some murderer shit. And if so, I am all onboard, if not, then I guess we shall see where this goes.

A good start, though it could just as easily turn out to be bad. I hope not, and it turns out great though.

I just hope certain tags I avoid never show up in this.

No, that's not an issue. It's actually programmed that way, I assume as a joke. It's not possible right now to choose interest in women on Ember.

Just thought that somebody else running Windows on a Mac could help with my specific problem.

nice customisation choice at the begining of the game, it's very rare to see devs do that. Will surely come back in 2 or 3 years to see what game it became.

By default, I name 90% of my MCs "Pervy."

I call him Hardy! Just love all the "You're so hard, Hardy!" My humor isn't exactly sofisticated!

From an older post from me " I get this error when I try to start the game: " Now I don'y get any error. It happened when I did unren the program. Stangely it has never happened to me before and also strange that Dev can unren it without any problem. That's life! Edit: Forgot to mention that I did like it and will come back for upgrades. Not to take anything away from the fine work Naughty Fox Games has done, but I personally can think several other games with at least as high quality renders as this game. However, I'm not going to list them here. Firstly, I don't want to violate rules against cross-promotion. But far more importantly IMO, I don't want to be rude to Summer Heat's development team. I think they've done a great job and support their choices and efforts. I would definitely say that their render quality is very good.

AWAM comes to mind. but still these are very good renders and models. I just hope the animations are as good as the renders XD
