Status Update #63

Hello everyone!

This week we've been focusing on animations.

Animations are one of those things we try to improve on with each cycle because they're so requested. Back in the day when we had no animations, we kept hearing that we need them, and lots of them! We didn't really have any scenes to put them in then, but now we do. In fact, we're starting to reach the kind of content where we can make a whole bunch of them, especially for the main girls.

We also have our animation rig up, and the next step is waiting for graphic cards to open up the path to anything we can think of. We luckily managed to avoid the crazy spike in RAM prices, but Fs in the chat for those who were planning to build new setups now or in the future.

We still have a couple of animations we'd like to add, as well as new renders. We also tried a multi-animation test for a scene where the animation doesn't loop, but transitions between angles like in a video. It's a bit odd for now, but we'll continue working on it and see if it's worth keeping. This is one of our goals for some of the longer scenes, so we'd like to get it right the first time.

Android also got plenty of attention this week, and we've been considering if we should release it after the PC version. It works as intended, mostly. However, the in-game phone and laptop content don't really agree with that small screen. Unless you're rocking some heavy prescription lenses at least.

Most of the bugs should now be cleared, at least from what we've managed to comb through. Dialogue is also starting to feel clean. We have a few scenes left to edit properly on our end, and then it's time to get some fresh eyes on the update to see what we've missed.

What we've done this week, basically:

A lot of DUG stuff (Dress-Up-Game)

New backups and NAS change coming

Android scaling and edits

Android phone/laptop edits

Pokethroughs

Script edit

Dialogue edit

Coding and changes

Animation tests

New Animations

SFX work

The monthly special poll is also running, and currently it's a pretty even split between Sophie and Eve, with Ms. Hill in third place.

There are two reasons for the delay of the update:
  1. Either the developer’s PC have burned out, since the game requires a super-powerful GPU and an extremely powerful PC to produce renders classified among the best renders ever.
  2. Or the developer has already finished the update but is stalling as much as possible to squeeze the last drop of money from his supporters on Patreon.
And I tend to believe the second reason.

Or maybe a third one, where they still working on it trying to finish and deliver a great update?

Its #2. They just posted about some new 4090s like a few weeks ago. They could do this on a moderate power pc. Most of the quality is done in photoshop anyway

Who the hell would play this game on a phone with those perfect renders?!

Stop wasting time on Android and focus on PC to get the update ready.

Has he been working on a single update for a year and a half—and possibly up to two years?

Crazy that they estimated they were 90-95% done back in August and 4 months later they are still talking about having to add multiple animations.

After 0.6, this is the second update in a row where they declare having reached ~90% completion only to seemingly slow their progress to a crawl for months afterwards. They're either comically bad at estimations or just not being very honest to their subscribers

Yes, why would they lie? what's to gain in the long term to lie to their patreons?
This status update was really informative actually, most of you just didn't like what you read, I would prefer to get an update date myself too, but it is what it is.

They could make more money by putting the game on Steam. I know the dev is reading this theard.

Maybe because he would hoping to milk more and more until his supporters losing their temper?

He said back in Aug the update is 95% ready, why then the update didn't finished yet if it's just 5% left?

Then why didn't he put his game on steam and patreon both?
