Atm there are very little to no mods, illgames have some anti modding stuff going on so people are having a hard time making mods for it.
There's no anti modding going on whatsoever, there's a different reason for the lack of mods, read below.
Worse.
The 12GB file extracts to 52GB on your drive.
Optimization has never been Illusion's strong point, but that's beyond ridiculous.
Not really. My KK folder takes up nearly 100GB, now that's ridiculous. But I agree, they should have optimized their shit much more, considering the amount of content, this game should really fit in 4G worst case, including all the mods and assets.
holy fuck dude and on dlsite it says it only weighs 1.2GB
Yeah, without the mods and content. That's why I say this game should fit in 4G including all mods and assets (there's really not much content atm if you think about it).
How come it smooth like butter when playing this 50GB load but playing AA2U make you look like you playing with goddamn bomb that can just go off anytime, it is 2GB for damn sake + mods.
The reason is, old Illusion/Ilgames used Mono (an interpreted bytecode, which is easy to make mods for, as you can hack the interpreter to inject code), while their previous game HoneyCome and this Summer Vacation uses IL2CPP (compiled to native code, much harder to mod properly as it needs patching machine code to hook in the plugins). The performance boost you're experiencing comes solely from this, interpreted bytecode vs. native machine code.
BTW, if anyone needs ripping characards from scene files, I've already uploaded a minimal
scenextract tool in the HoneyCome topic (works with Summer Vacation too), and
GAME RIPPER can extract characards from almost every Illusion/Illgames scenes too.
