Totally with you. Couldn't agree with you more. In most adult VNs and games (and pornography generally) the story's sole purpose is to introduce the characters and then link one sex scene with another, gratuitously, whereas in OceanLab VNs sex is integral with, although subordinate to, a truly epic story rather than the main thing (or even the only thing) that the story is about. The visual art, static and animated, is exceptionally fine and lovely to view but without the high drama, dialogue, mystery, suspense and cast of engaging, flawed, multifaceted characters, all interacting with each other in messy, touching, complicated and very human ways, OceanLab creations wouldn't be as emotionally engaging or fabulously entertaining as they are.I absolutely agree with you. There are many games that have great art and a shit story. I don't play those longer than it takes to find out how bad the story is. This game is amazing because of it's great story and art. The art helps sell the story.
Hand on heart: IMHO OceanLab has set a new high-water mark insofar as the visual novel is concerned.
I'm a critical and demanding person, not easy to please, but as far as these VNs are concerned I'm all the way!
(And 100% #teamVictoria, by the way, despite the Nami and Katie sigs.)
