A: The patch changes existing text in the game to create a sibling relationship between two main characters who are simply roommates in the normal version of the game. There is no extra or hidden content enabled by the patch.

Huh? Last I heard, Oceans had said that Summer's Gone would be around 30 chapters. 15 chapters would be much more manageable(it's an easier goal to meet), but with all the content he spoke of, I don't know. The sports tournaments alone would take a lot more than 15 chapters to cover ~ especially since they're being covered along with many other subplots and the main storyline. There's a tennis tournament, a basketball tournament, a boxing tournament, etc. We're already at Chapter 5 with the coming update, and MC hasn't even joined the team yet. 15 chapters don't seem realistic with all of the content that we have to cover... unless each chapter's going to be multiple times larger than the updates we're currently getting. Like, even if more content is delivered via chapters being cut in half(3.5, 4.5, etc.), that's still not enough to cover everything. A week hasn't even passed yet in-game(not counting the prologue and some of chapter 1).
Lol it's actually kind of crazy how much story this game has. I haven't even gotten into the LI subplots and the main storyline. Unless he cuts out a lot of stuff, 15 chapters aren't enough. camube, this game is nowhere near 25% completeღ

Considering that the first season is not finished yet, approximately 15% (6 seasons are planned, or if you read the old faq about 30 chapters).

Yep with all the sports I've actually kinda wondered if he can fit it all in to 30 chapters...we're going into Ch5 and as you noted, he hasn't even made the team yet / the season hasn't even started for Basketball. Might have to implement time-skips in order to fit it in that time-frame.
And not that I'm complaining, so far I am really enjoying the game, I'm happy to see a game like this have a long-run with tons of relationship development (both romantic and other types) - needs room for lots of dialogue, situations, etc.

I think the characters from this game are my favourites, among probably about a hundred top rated games on this site that I've already seen, and I'd say it's quite a wide selection. It's not that the other games characters are bad written or something, but I can't point to a character from SG that I don't want to see and know more about. Well except maybe f'ckn aliens, but they are fictional even in the fictional world. Therefore, I see no reason for myself to anticipate a grand finale so soon. Okay, MC and Bella are married or turned into a Pumpkin and Honey Buney, "Any of you fuckin' pricks MOVE and I'll execute every last one of you motherfuckas!" The dark path, yeah? Nami runs away with Jeff out of desperation, credits roll. Would you like that? I definitely don't. I wan't to watch their adventures as long as the Dev has the inspiration to keep telling their stories.
Urghh, I must have confused SG with WIAB, since I thought WIAB was planned to be 30 chapters and SG three seasons of five chapters each.
But, dang, extrapolate the development time for five chapters of SG out to 30 chapters... The crazy thing is I am way less annoyed with waiting 30 chapters to doink Sasha than waiting 30 chapters to get resolution to the story.

SG was planned to be 3 seasons of 10 episodes each.
Recently Ocean lowered the number of episodes per season to 5, for a total of 6 seasons but the total number of chapters haven't changed.
Thanks for the clarification. My confusion came from OceanLab's post from 23 Jan 2020 and my interpreting five chapters to a season.

Besides, even if we don't ultimately get there, delight and reflect one day on the marvelous journey Ocean will have taken us on. Worrying about the conclusion to SG now is like worrying in 1995 about how old you'd be when the millennium comes around.
The change in the way Summers Gone is organized came about due to Ocean's decision to do a Steam release. All the CH 1 & 2 rework (plus the continuity rework in CHs 3 & 3.5 and the music removal) is in support of creating a Summers Gone season 1 that is a highly polished AVN and quite ready for Steam (and now GOG) release.
I think it is a great call by Ocean and will introduce SG to a Huge Steam audience where it will be very well received.
I know I will be gifting it to a number of friends who have no interest in/knowledge of F95 but who would Love a great story like SG.
On Steam, Summers Gone will be able to shine as an Adult story with adult relationships.
There are many adults who will embrace SG and enjoy Ocean's storytelling and the way he does both world-building and relationship-building.
Think about the other special treats that Ocean will be adding to SG: the phone as well as Nami's Photo Book.
Those are going to be Great adds to an already rich and entertaining story.
I also appreciate how Ocean keeps us up to date on progress with his dev-logs.
There are too many developers who don't bother to give timely updates to their supporters on Patreon and SS, let alone periodic visits and updates to those who only come to F95 for SG.
We have a few months to go before we will get the CH 5 Beta but those dev logs and the 'who wore it better' contest he is having his Patreon and SS supporters vote on will help to keep me fully invested in SG while waiting for the next release.

As long as he doesn't screw Nami up like he has some others, I don't care how long it is - he can keep releasing Nami content for the next 37 years as far as I'm concerned
so at best summers gone will end in 2048 lol...

One Piece is still ongoing, where is the problem
Ocean is telling a great story and this great story takes time.
We have Major world-building and many LI's, intricate back stories, mysteries and the Major origin story, Where It All Began, starting more than a generation ago (OceanVerse Time).
If you are going to complain that your free stuff is taking too long or you simply want to be critical of a creator who is unafraid of telling a grand story - no one is forcing you to stay on this thread.
Feel free to go elsewhere.
I, for one, will be here as long as Ocean want to tell great stories; I'll also be supporting him on SS and on Steam for just as long.

You sayin' that now. And maybe you got a point for yourself and many others, but people will start flocking to the game once the RPG participating LI's get tentacleraped by whatever lurkes in the dark space beyond.

So the 3.5 to 4.0 was like #15 dev logs and then released that is like 7,5 months
