Sorry I was running out the door to go somewhere, but tried to do a dot point summary - I'll do better and slower next time :)

We actually don't know if there is any NTR in the canon. If it can be turned off, I'd assume that means it's all optional NTR for those that are okay with it. THe thing is that it is a darker and more intense story in regards to relationships. In SG, you get to build new relationships, in WiaB you have to mend broken ones. I'd suggest trying it anyway, as it can be turned off.

WiaB is still set in the past - Ocean is developing them concurrently, but they are still separate times. The protagonist generation in WiaB are older in SG (and we don't know much about them directly as yet). I would highly recommend trying WiaB as it is now with the NTR turned off, as you'll still get all of the actual plot. Even with it turned on, there is currently next to no content that would trigger anyone, so you're safe to at least understand more of the story. NTR isn't my thing either, I'm just going to play making the best kind of choices for the kind of person I am. If I get NTR'd by an AVN, I guess that tells me a bit about my own choices and I need to make better choices :sneaky:

Regarding the length of development - I want it all now of course. Maybe tomorrow at the latest. But I'd rather know it's going to be developed the right way rather than rushed. The overall depth of detail is what makes this game stand out - there are stories playing out in the background of scenes, and there is so much to absorb. The upside is that Ocean is pedantic enough to persist making this. Think of it like a comic - there's always a new episode. Readers of Marvel comics still don't know how it all turns out. I doubt it will be that level of endless, but Ocean has big plans, I can sit and wait and do other things in the mean time, and get excited for each update.
NTR is not canon in WiAB. The canon ending is the good ending which leads into SG.

I guess that means I have my safe space :sneaky: I'll still personally play with NTR on, because actual consequences will probably make the decisions harder to make.
I play all routes and if Ocean as he said, is not changing the story in any considerable way....the number of NTR routes old WiAB had was mind boggling (and didn;t care as hated Miru...new Miru...gahh...so much more improved heh.

Anyway...getting off Sg so back on topic.

Katie FTW (even if she not an LI in this lmao).

I assumed you meant NTR rather than NFT when I read your original post. Others might not have, though. I don't think there's anything like an NTR "Canon"in WIAB. Ocean's two games are very malleable in terms of what can happen, depending on choices made. If you turn off NTR in WIAB, then that IS THE CANON for your playthrough.

Maviarab is right though. WIAB is still set 20-odd years before SG. It would be hard not to be, considering the 18-19 year-old offspring of WIAB characters who are characters in SG. I'm not sure where you got the impression it was concurrent with SG.
Dude, I'm really sorry, my mind was somewhere else, I used the wrong abbreviation. Actually I meant NTR. I'm so embarrassed right now

Ocean has mentioned that Nika 'manwhore' Cyrus will encounter many problems, so trying to play each path simultaneously is only advised if you like all the LI thinking you're an untrustworthy POS.
This is great for someone like me who had already crossed off 90% of LI's in the first 2 chapters. As long as the Nami-MC-Bella throuple is a possibility, my playthrough will be mostly romance drama free. I'll make a second save for Sasha if she remains an LI as Ocean intended. Outside those 3 I only care about Maja, Robin and Ayua who are unlikely to become future LI's. Just give me all the lewd scenes with 'em.

Same with WiAB. Negative interest in anyone outside of Miru and Katie.

So what used to be a major concern for me, the enormous size of the cast, has quickly become a non-issue because, with the reworks, Ocean did a masterful job at making so many characters I used to like, really unappealling, really fast. It's also unlikely that other characters, introduced farther into the story, will have a chance to catch up to those who have been introduced in the earlier seasons/chapters.

Just curious but what do you dislike this much about Zara or Sasha that you wouldnt even consider a playthrough for them?

Wait, no I love Sasha. She's in my top 3. I'd make a save for her specifically.

Zara though is in my botttom 2 with Nia. I've gone on about this in depth dozens of times but it's mostly her personality. I just can't deal with anyone who is that fragile yet toxically competitive all the time about everything. Nia's demeanor is also repellent to me. And I don't find either of them subjectively attractive.

Finally getting around to playing the latest update and it's just confirmed my impressions from earlier in the game that Nia is a terrible character; not in terms of either who she is or what she is, but the way Oceanlab tries to reconcile the two aspects of her and the implications. She was a sensitive and lonely child, but who obviously had a loving mother, who eventually dealt with that loneliness in the worst possible way, torching her relationship with her family in the process. And trying to explain it away as "I have a high sex drive"... it makes my head hurt. There is no happy endings for this type of girl, if she exists, IRL. And I don't play these games to get fucking depressed. If want that I'll just listen to Gut's Theme and re-read Berserk Vol.13.

Edit: what in the name of fuck is the shit with Noji being besties with a pornstar?!! Jump the shark shit right their. As per Mr Burns, " I'm beginning to think Oceanlab was not the brilliant writer I thought he was."

NTR aside, I always got the impression the original WIAB had an option for William Zane to ditch/break up with Miru and pursue other LI(s).

SG blows that option being canon out of the water. Ayua Zane in SG - (a) who has Katie Zane (William's sister) as an auntie, (b) is of Asian descent, (c) and is a fighter who knows Miru's secret family fighting style - points to William and Miru reconciling any drama and likely marrying.

The only outlier scenarios I can think of where William/Miru don't marry are:

(a) Katie Zane is an auntie and Ayua carries the Zane family name through either adoption from an estranged/deceased Miru or see (b) below.

(b) Ayua is of Asian descent and although Miru is the likeliest mother, Ocean revives an original WIAB plot where Miru's Japanese crime family discover Miru's location, travels from Japan to Wollust to confront her, and William gets it on with some sister of Miru (!!??). :)

(c) Ayua knows and practices Miru's secret family fighting style and the only scenarios where Miru didn't teach her are either Miru teaching Leia and William enough of the secret style for the Zane family to steal it or see (b) above
. :)

Im pretty sure that no matter our choices (if ocean really manages to finish both avn's haha) there will be a more or less canon Wiab ending for SG.

And i dont think Ocean will involve NTR and even less NTR-Pregnancy in the canon ending as it would just upset too many people and would make the LI in case unlikeable for a huge amount of players.

And considering the way Wiab is set up so far i feel like everything leads towards William and Miru having an open relationship and Miru starts to like the idea of Willy putting babys in a lot of women at some point lol.

Miru and Willy just arrived and Miru is shown to be bonding A LOT with the other girls already, sometimes even siding with them against willy (which a lot of insecure bitch-.. uhm .. players already cry about) which is clearly to a) win them over to like Miru but b) Miru getting really close to them too.

I wouldnt be suprised if she discovers a cuckquean fetish or something adjacent to it, i cant see this happening (willy impregnating the whole town lol) without her support and encouragement.

I think as long shes sure that willy loves her and screws her often enough, Miru is up for a lot of stuff in the long run lol

That's the beauty of SG so far - different strokes for different folks. There's a bevy of LIs that have a wide range of different personalities and a player can accept or reject each one according to how they feel about them. For those that don't like her, Nia could potentially still eventually become the dirty girl, fuck-toy who is up for anything (with no strings attached).

Hell, for shits'n'giggles, I did a miserable playthrough where I rejected all the female LIs. Now I'm worried in that playthrough about telling Jeff I didn't care about males looking at my dong... :)[

a) and b) are plausible, I've had the same thought. c) doesn't mean anything in regards to Ayua's parentage, and Ayua mentions only people who marry her can learn, so she's making it more exclusive than Miru, who's willing to teach Leia. In c) we still don't have a reason for Ayua to be Asian, if it's only Willi and Leia. But Ayua invites Nika to train at the official dojo, so it can't be her trainging in secret - Miru would notice the stolen techniques slipping into Ayua's routines.

Option d) William has a side fling (Riri?) that he bought with poundy coupons, just to see a comparison so he knows whether or not Miru is the best of all Asians (yes, Willi in an open relationship is retarded enough to try that). Ayua gets left with Willi and Mirus raises her because Willi's a jerk even if she sticks with him.

Option e) Willi and Miru have a massive falling out because Willi's chasing Helen which is too much even for Miru's high sex drive, so Miru marries the abandoned Dylan. No NTR if she's been ditched. Will still get way too much backlash.

Regarding secret techniques a further option: Ayua is playing with the western racism/fetishism trope assuming that all fit asians have secret fighting techniques, and are deadly weapons, rawr. Secretly, they're just going to box like regular people. But heck, the trope exists purely because all asian comics, tv shows, movies have protagonists with ultra mega secret fisting techniques. Nika better be careful, I don't want to see that lewd ...or maybe that'll be Ayua's gift to Bella, secret technique to get Nika's prostate functioning? Maybe that's why the secret technique isn't in season one? /s :sneaky:

The most obvious option you've put in the spoiler is the likeliest, and the one I prefer :)

Sasha's path is what I'm waiting to see. Robin, and Maya I'll keep hoping for lewds. I think Ocean might consider Robin as a LI because we've already got tension from Charlie. I can understand Maya being off limits for a full blown relationship, she can't bring Nika home when Vic's there etc.

There are plenty of people IRL that have no happy endings, and there are plenty of people that do make these kind of decisions. But they're not usually successful in the time Nia is. Just consider it - she makes enough money for that place, having built her career in the time that Nika took off from injury/recovery and Nami stayed back. Seems a pretty fast success. So if you want depressing, she's living in a dump, spending all her money trying to get stable internet, and dealing with 100% douches whenever she's online.

I think the important thing with all these characters is Ocean is exploring all the ways that broken people can help each other heal. Some of the dramas are bigger than others. I mean Nika's circle of friends is filled by highly dysfunctional people. Emotionally, it's like they're the X-Men - each has their unique trauma/origin story and each has a +10 roll in some area of life that makes them survive. I hear what you mean, but we people sometimes have the most stupid reasons for ruining our own lives.

Dyan's out 'cause Katie Zane would then be Ayua's half-sister and not her auntie (unless the Zane's are hiding her true parentage). If Miru had Ayua out of wedlock, was estranged from the Zane family, and raised Ayua, then surely Ayua would carry Miru's family name... :)

Agreed, which is why the simplest possibility is the likeliest one. It's no surprise you get multiple chances to impregnate Miru already, as Ayua is a necessity.

I'm imagining contingencies for Ayua's origin story will also be pretty straight forward, if that is one of the variables that carries over - ie Willi has one poundy with Miru = guaranteed Ayua, William denies Miru 100% = they still get married after WiaB and have a poundy. One line of dialogue change, simple. If Ocean makes it more complicated, the Zane's adopt Miru's out-of-wedlock child in sympathy for how much poundy Willi denied her, despite all the coupons.

I'm suspecting that with no NTR being canon to carry forward to SG (from comments made here by people who seem to know more), the simplest story for Ayua is the right one. As for hiding true parentage, Ocean's still hiding that everyone is WIlli's sproglings. Everyone, even Sai. Willi invented a time machine so he could gigachad the whole Willilust universe. That would almost be as 'good' a plot twist as From Dusk To Dawn :sneaky:

'have you considered Ayua's (likely violent) reaction if the MC fucks her auntie? Scratch that, any rational evaluation of the pros and cons leads to a conclusion that it'll be worth several broken bones and time in hospital. :sneaky:
Unless, of couse, she finds out Nika's her half brother and then she's conflicted as she'll probably be aware of Daddy and Aunt Leia...

You know people can have kids and not be together for numerous reasons right?

The story from old WiAB is not really changing...but for the record, in case you keep missing it, the NTR routes are not cannon. However, that does not neccessarily mean William and Miru will be together come the end of the story.

I laid out the clues pointing to why they would be together and scenarios where they're not together. Ayua has the Zane family name and not Miru's (German Federal Law, for example: A child whose parents are unmarried or in a civil union at the time of the child's birth will usually have the mother's surname as birth name).
