I assume because it sounds like shortened version of Veronica
It's a guy name too (not Veronica, Nika)

Nika is a powerful and honorable name. ... for a girl.
It's for both

"Nika is a female or male having multiple origins in different languages and countries. In countries the name comes from the goddess of victory " "(some personalities coming from Slavic countries are listed below).

Nika is a female name in Persian, language meaning "very good" and "pure crystal water", it derives from "Nik" meaning "Good", "True" and "Chosen". Nika is also the name of a river in north of Iran. , the ancient Iranian religion believes in the motto "Pendar Nik" (Good Thoughts), "Goftar Nik" (Good Words), and "Kerdar Nik" (Good Deeds).

In the language, Nika is a male given name meaning "grandfather". In Nika means "little" and used to be a popular nickname for the youngest boy in the family.

In Slovenia and Croatia, Nika is used as a feminine form of or . In the , Nika may be a diminutive of the male given names like , , , , , or of the female given name Agafonika, as well as a form of female name . In Igbo culture, Nika, shortened version of female Ginika or Ginikanwa. Nika is a very popular man's name in Georgia"

So, it's a guy and girl name (just like others)

Absolute bullshit except this part
a form of female name
So I wouldn't trust the rest of the article

There are several explanations to the origin/meaning depending on place on earth and/or religion.

Russian, greek, georgian, persian, japanese, indonesian, kenyan..................

Seems it's most common in Russia and the U.S. and it's unisex
Definitely not Russian or Japanese male name (at least not ordinary one). Quick look at wiki shows that it's used as male name in Georgia, Slovenia or Croatia. Not sure about the rest

What the nonsense dude!
Russia: Nikita (Никита), Nikolay (Николай).
There is no such name as Nika especially unisex! Nika can be used as a shortening of the female Veronika.
Even Niko from GTA was Nik"O" and not Nik"A"!

Nikolai/Mykola (Nicholas)
  • Basic diminutive is "Kolya". "Nikolasha" is a more intimate form. "Nika" is a babyish version of this name. "Kolyan" is a slang form used by male friends.
No? I mean a baby diminutive does fit Nika quite well, as he's not grown up in the way that matters to most people here... :sneaky:

Oh for the love of Christ people...had I known this debate was gonna start again, I would have just censored the MC's name on my screenshot...

Play with whatever name you like or think fits better. I usually go with default names too unless I REALLY dislike them. Which is the case here. I have no issue with the protagonist's name on the other game and always refer to him as Wili/William. In this one I always call him "MC" because I dislike it.

Just be happy!

Nickname for Nikita its Nik not Nika!

Nika (Greek Νίκη - “victory”) is a female name of Greek origin. This is the name of the ancient Greek goddess of victory. Also, the name Nika is a shortened form of some female (Veronica, Evnika, Monika, Dominica, Shushanika) and male names (Dominic, Nikolai, Nikita, Nikodim, Nikifor).

This name does not exist in Russia! These are either shortened or nicknames!

Yes, I understood the babyish version to be a nickname, nicknames are fine. Or should I say Nikanames? :sneaky:

Another troll/Alt (or a main) account. Came back with the heavy hitter (reaction whore)

It's just trolls/kids being trolls/kids (and using Alt accounts to continue it) they have nothing better to do. And to keep their bait posts flowing, they'll post one thing that has to do with the game while continuing to Troll around it.

Anyways, just ignore their pointless baiting rants. We're too mature for that nonsense.

Amber, hopefully the MC will see more of you in good detail, in Season 2 :sneaky:
You corrected my messages and wrote a "bad word" - oh my, catch the report! :ROFLMAO:
