If an old Patreon wants to call him a scammer for what he did with the rework i´m okay with that, i don´t see it that way but i can understand the feeling, but at this point of the story is just bullshit imo.

to be fair, I downloaded that game for the spicy renders, ended my absolute favourite VN for the peronality and interactions of the characters.
I wouldn't even be mad if there were no sex scenes at all . I just want to know where the story goes (with Bella hehe).

in 6 years on this site I never reacted or posted anywhere. turns out I liked the game so much that I just want to prolong the experience by talking about it. and Yes I bought the damn thing on steam. crazy. who says "black sail" stuff is detrimental to creators....

I remember I played it in 2022 or 2021. it was barely a proof of concept storywise. the difference in content with today is gargantuan.

On Patreon, everything works a little differently. There are 5 points that you can't do, and if you violate them, you will immediately get the brand of a milker or a scammer.

1. Reworks. Previously, many dishonest developers used reworks to get money for years without making new content.
2. Frequent excuses. Again, dishonest developers came up with different reasons not to make the game and get money for free. For example, the developer constantly moves and uses this as an excuse. Or there were developers who were constantly sick and even asked for money for treatment in their logs. But in fact, it turned out that they were not sick, they were just collecting money from fans, etc.
3. Slowing down the development of the game. The developer stops working on the plot of the game and its development. This happens mainly due to the lack of imagination of the developer and he simply does not know what to do next. Therefore, he makes an update that does not make sense, just to get money. Previously, such people were called milkers, now fans simply consider the game dead and leave.
4. Promises. Previously, and even now, dishonest developers make all sorts of promises just to collect more money from fans. Therefore, normal developers try not to make any promises at all. A promise is the first sign of a scammer, but if you make a promise, you must definitely fulfill it.
5. Begging for money. I think there is no need to explain anything here.

You're in the right to criticize aspects you don't like about the game or things you think that could improve, I also do that and I don't always agree with Ocean and some of his artistic choices. But just accusing him and only him of something that many devs with good quality work do as well? You can't be serious.

There are a lot of haters here who don't think much of Ocean's work, but there's no denying that the themed renders are absolute awesomeness.
Without a doubt, my favourite is the first render.

Not only because of Sasha herself but also her environment in this render is great.

I looks like the aftermath on an incantation that went horribly wrong.

Well, I can't put a finger on it but somehow reminds me that scene of a movie.

Im the opposite, im not a hater at all (bmw guy would call me a fanboy) but i couldnt give less of a fuck about wallpapers (or bonus side stories).

Imo thats all just entirely useless timewaste, every non-canon render is wasted time, the only good thing about is that ocean maybe gets new experiences/creativity due to it.

I really dont get the obsession with bonus renders or side stories, there are enough pretty pictures on the internet. The stories, characters and choices is what makes avn's special not pretty pictures.

AVN developement speed is already slow as fuck even considering the fastest devs, i dont get why most of the good devs additionally waste time with lots of stuff like that but it seems like the demand is kinda there even tho i really dont get it.

probably because AVNs devs are creative people, special renders are a form of channel their creativity when the process of making the game is too boring, at least is my take on it. Also is a way of keep the community alive between updates and offer a treat to patreons, it may be "wasted" time but I think is a shallow way of seing things.

You are totally right. I, for myself, can't stand any kind of Christmas-, Halloween-, Easterupdate for any game. As you said, no main story progress and wasted dev time. I was always glad that Ocean has never done similar shit like this.

On the other side, Ocean estimated 6k-7k renders for SG alone and we still have no render count for WIAB, or I'm wrong?
Let's be generous and assume only 5k -6k renders for WIAB. That makes roughly 11k-13k renders in total. If we count the 4(?) themed sets, that are roughly 40-50 renders.

That's 0.31 - 0.39% of both games.

To be honest, I have doubt that this makes a real difference for the games, 3 days more or less are not the end of the world.

And we have to consider that Ocean always suck with his release dates.

Wow, wow, you're being too generous! Let's shrink this fish a bit, he wrote in one of the recent WiAB dev logs, he estimates WiAB Ch4 as 3000-3500 renders.
