maybe that's the reason why SG(avn) and WIAB(avn) are so slow to update !.

Of course that the Ch5 full is a update and Bob already a pretty good point regarding what is new about it, I have nothing to add in this regard.
People complain about a number of things, there was not any censorship, censorship is a really heavy word to apply here. There was no promisses and no uncessored versions, both patreon and steam are the same.

Sorry, but there was one that I played where even Vic's pussy appeared, the jacuzzi scene with Zara and Vanessa, in Nami's route it was spicier and showed Nika's dick. There were other scenes that were removed, I remembered Nojiko who showed her panties, there really was no censorship, in Brazil what do we call that then?
Yes, but from what a friend of mine who has always supported Ocean on Patreon had mentioned, there would be two different versions. Since you think censorship is a strong word, I'll use the term "spicy". I remember he mentioned that the Steam version would be gourmet to fit in other countries and the Patreon version would be spicy. Regarding the rework, there were some scenes that are clearly from the old version, but I'm not here to point out mistakes in S1, I'm just mentioning what I've read and reread in various places and also a little of my opinion.
If I, who am new, was already upset after playing the previous versions, I don't even want to imagine who was from the beginning. I'm going to stop talking about this because I believe everyone is tired of walking on eggshells.

The original version had a render that included MC and Jeff exiting the showers after working out with full frontal nudity revealing Jeff having a ripped physique and a cock that was 3-4 times bigger as compared to skinny MC that I can only surmise was meant to cause jealousy and setup future Jeff/Nami NTR that had been mentioned as a possibility in early versions. Fun times.

One of the big things I miss from old SG was the music. It introduced me to a lot of bands and songs I didn't know. I can take or leave the lewd stuff (rip laying in bed with Nami) but the music is something that stuck with me.
nah it was the moments combined with the music that stuck out to me. the moment with Summer in the cabin and the song and animation comes on, then also coming home and drinking with Nami after Bella date and some song came on can't remember, but that moment and song really stuck to me. There were some others too.

The song that used to play right after the fight with Sai where Nami confronts Bella (State of Dystopia).
The song that played during one of the basketball games (Dancing Through the Stars) though really anything from Wellmess is good.
There's other songs if I really go looking into it. Ocean put a lot of effort into music.
Edit- Always Been a Dreamer was the initial Summer song, I think.

Be aware that if you do, there is a chance your save won't work with Season 2. Most mods have a habit of breaking saves when used with an unmodded version. There is no guarantee that the modder will do any mod for compatibility for Season 2.
All you will get is a fan-made mod that:
- changes the relationships for the people who don't believe in roommates (but there's no real lewds anyway)
- adds back some flaccid dick pics
- adds one vagina reveal that was removed
- adds one assjob scene that doesn't even finish
- replaces some dialogue, extends some scenes that were trimmed
- restores the (non lewd) cinematics that had to be removed because the music people wouldn't renew the licenses.
It's honestly not worth it if you haven't played it, you won't know what you missed to complain you missed it. You will still have blue balls, but you'll have to play from the start again unmodded if your save doesn't transfer to season 2 because of an unofficial mod.
Instead, play the game, download the mod, and look at the cinematics and renders in the folder to get an idea of what you missed after, knowing that OCean is redoing a better assjob scene for the next update (by the look of it).
Ocean did do a patreon version of Season 1, he restored Nami topless at the lake and a few other things. That is what got updated on steam, once Ocean realised he couldn't get it under the 16 age rating. So your friend is telling the truth, but everyone has the patreon version now. There was no promise that the jacuzzi scene would be restored, because Ocean's doing a better one in the next update. Your friend hasn't understood what Ocean said about the versions, but getting it on Steam is another long drama. At least that is done, from here both games are 18+ moving forward.
As far as censorship goes, Ocean removed some racially oriented slurs, some brand names/logos, turned down the percentage of swearing, cut some scenes short (most notable are Nami's: the bed scene - with Nika's nipples, the assjob scene with Nika's semi chub, Maja's toybox scene with Nami's bigger involvement) removed all penises etc.
The thing is these changes were done by him trying to get it below 18+ so it could be sold anywhere. That's not censorship, that's his choice. I can disagree with his choice, but it's not censorship. He can still choose to add the missing things to steam if he wanted, because they care less than patreon. Again, he is just being overly cautious since what happened with WiaB, it's not just the lewds, just the scripts or certain innocent scenes can be enough. Yes things were cut, no it's not censorship if the dev does it for their own reasons.
Well, keep those dreams alive for the MMF throuple. But who knows, maybe you'll get Sai instead

There actually was censorship. Literal textbook censorship. Multiple renders of genitals were either removed or edited out.
Keep in mind you still have the Music Restoration Mod in the OP which contains most of the songs that were used at some point in the game. And it works like a playlist. Even if the song you wanted no longer triggers in a specific scene, you can do so manually.

He didn't secure it. This is a bigger topic, but I believe in order to secure an official rating, it has to go through a government ratings board, which the movie/book/game/thing charges the applicant. That is why there are USK 18+ games that can be seen without signing in to steam: if the advertising doesn't show any 18+ content, and it has the age that it can be sold to displayed, there is no problem with it being on the shelf - if it gets an approved rating. They can still refuse give the game a rating, which means it can't be displayed to anyone under 18 regardless. Games without an official rating are the ones you can't see unless signed in, or games that have 18+ content on the storepage. SG can't be seen unless signed in (although the DLC can, which is clever). In effect, after all that backwards and forwards, Ocean just left it as the too hard (and expensive) basket, and moved on to season 2. Hindsight's a wonderful thing.Small correction. Sorry but I am wotb Bob on this one. Ocean made a business decision to go for a 16 rating and adjusted his products accordingly. It is not censorship. Maybe with WiaB could be made a argument but not here. Not saying that I like it, I miss much of these scenes and think that the lack of them hurts the story. After playing it i would list it under my "had potential but going nowhere" list.
I am totally not bothered by censorship in this game, not every game needs to have harems and sex after sex scene. There are many.
The game starts really strong for first couple of chapters but then kind of losses focus. There seems to be no solid direction it is going, no significant story reveals are anything. Just tidbit's of events like the bookclub event in final chapter but no major character development or events which were revealed in chapter 1.
From chapter 1 to 5 in-game story has hardly moved 1 month which would be fine BUT when you see that the game originally came out in 2019 it has been over 5 years to reach where?
* MC hasn't joined any basketball team
* Bella neighbours event had 0 development
* No major path for any of the girls
Which again would have been fine if the game didn't come out freakin 6 years ago.

I think that is a extreme fair criticism of the game, SG needs to pick up the pace. But I also think is well to remember that it is a ambitious project, with over 60 chapters. I always say that most AVNs are like a mini series, each episose is crucial and has to deliver in mutiple front, lewd, story characters. SG works more like a book, you don't discover who did it in chapter 5, and this is the point we are now.
