I don't think he or even us need a rework of his old game, his skill is definitely getting better but it doesn't mean he should rework his old game, he will benefit more if he continuing his new contents, finishing it, planned and create much better planned new game, etc.

Well, this is when Perfectionism is in the way of an Dev. Many times they'll look back to see what can be even more improved when they learn much new stuff.

I noticed, since a restart was required, that the young version of Summer vaguely resembles the adult Leah in the dev’s other game WIAB. So, I wonder if that is who Summer will look like if/when she reappears later.

However, who is the lady in black with the veil and cigarette holder who appears in background while at the bakery early in the game? Near as I can tell, she doesn’t resemble Leah…..

There are definite connections to Where it all began, as for how they are connected I am not sure yet.

Contrary to many people, I really enjoyed the chapter. I understand it took a long time to be released but the quality was really good and the amount of content was not bad for an update. But yeah, it can be a bit too short if you take into account how long has it been since last update.
But I enjoy the story a lot and also the characters. Renders are really good too.
I'm sure Ocean is improving in many things, and I'm also sure that from now on, updates will take less time to be released.
I just wanted to write this comment to thank Ocean for his work (maybe he won't ever read this but whatever).

it has been 8 months since the last update and he releases a beta version. Then imagine he is reworking a chapter of a rework version of game. I wonder how can we support some devs if all they do is rework the rework and never move forward. 8 months for a beta version is a little funny. And someone said they changed the design of my favorite character...

Consider that A Wife and Mother (The dev is probably one of the best artists around just a total douche at production or communication) just had a 140 render update that meant nothing to the story and it took 40+days, about 3.5 renders a day.

I am not too concerned if there is actual work and improvement being done. I do think that reworking should be held until after everything is complete. I appreciate the work of CheekyGimp and his team that their plan with Where the Heart Is focuses on post completion for the fixes/improvements (for the most part).

There is no such thing. This is capitalism. You get what the market thinks you should get.

And it's a fact that Patreon growth is related to development pace. If by the time of your next update, a good chunk of your target audience has forgotten your game even existed, how can you expect a healthy growth? It's not quantum mechanics.

It was. Felt randomly placed in the middle of story too. Don't know if it was a cheap way to extend content even more by stalling progression, or just a dev wanting to play with new toys (daz assets). Probably both.

Another popular game did something similar once but at the time it already had 4x the content this has. Certainly not something fitting for a game having 3 updates in 3-4 years....

Doubt it was cheap a way to extend content. And I think Ocean really enjoyed this considering the work he put into it.

However for regular people like myself it is simply too long. It could have been shorter or not in the game and the update would have been better in my opinion.

In the other popular game you are referring to, it works because it's silly and most of the content in that game is silly and fun. And was much more complex than here.

For me personally, it feels like it's not in line with the tone of Ocean's game, at least not yet.

So. now I played this update and I can talk about it.

it was most about the dinner and the rpg. I didnt feel like the story progressed. We got to know zara and her sister a lot better. But we didn't get to know anyone else better. There were so many characters added at the start and we didnt even seen or interacted with them in this update. So it makes me feel like, most of the storyline before was about Bella, in this update was about Zara and Vanessa. The next will be about someone else?
If we go in this pace, where every 8 months update MC will only interact with one or 2 characters it will take long to progress with the story of the game.
I didnt even see my lady in this whole update. Ayua had no line, other than ask if Bella has MC's nudes. I didnt like her design changes as well.

It was still good because these animations are amazing. But story wise it lacked a bit.

Sonya, that has been the face of this game since the beginning, we know nothing about her.

What are your opinions?

Again I have to praise the devs for a job well done. This chapter is truly well done too, the characters are getting more and more interesting as their stories unfold; especially loved the subtle introduction of the earrings mystery, seamless and smooth, very clear and memorable and yet not overdone in a way that would disrupt the plot or feel gratuitous and out of place (it's so easy to slip when introducing a totally new element so suddenly, without laying the ground first).
I was slightly surprised by Zara, I wasn't expecting the knockout blow to come so suddenly for her, I thought she would play bitchy and resentful for a bit longer; then again it works very well and doesn't feel rushed, because the reason behind her competitiveness is so absolutely crystal clear: huge inferiority complex. With a sister like Vanessa who can really blame her... holy cow! That woman is the devil isn't she? Forget about Bella playing the part of the bad girl, she looks like an amateur in comparison. I especially like the comparison between her kind of "bad", driven by anger and trauma, and Vanessa's which is entirely due to a manipulative and narcissistic nature (and therefore 10 times more dangerous).
Also Nami just keeps getting sweeter and sweeter; come on how is a man supposed to resist such genuine, sincere and warm passion? It becomes hard to get myself to pick any other girl just to see their content lol.
I have only 1 criticism: I feel the table game interlude is way too long and adds very little to the plot for the time it takes up; I would consider cutting it short a bit and instead flesh out the 1 on 1 time with Nadia more. That is unless of course the plan is to make this a game long full fledged side plot with some sort of relevance by the end. As things stand I found it a bit redundant and distracting.

All in all amazing job once again!
