Everything looks so much better now: The atmosphere in Nika's bedroom, Jeff looks even more gorgeous, Nami's facial expressions look more natural now, Nojiko looks even more beautiful, meth Bella is goone! In short, the poses and facial expressions make them look more human.
Can't wait to play that new scene.

I thought that too, but you can still see the renders of the old version in the latest update, and Vic's lips used to be thinner (with the corners of the lips naturally pointing up), and the tip of her nose looked more upturned.
Not gonna shit on Ocean's job, he still make the reworked renders and some model changes look stunning as fuck, but some models like old Vic and old Mila looked so different they made them stand out from the other girls, but that's just my opinion ofc.

So, the first Dev Log after the initial Beta release.
I suspect that I will need two Dev Logs to finish the first half of the Chapter 2 rework that comes with Chapter 4.5 full.
I estimate says around 700-800 renders for the first half of Chapter 2.
Current stand: 350/800 renders.
You can find some comparisons down below.

But first, there's quite a bit of stuff to talk about.

1. Changes to the Season counting.
I always said that SG will have three seasons with around 10 Chapters.
But from now on Chapter 1 to Chapter 5 will be Season 1.
This way SG will have around 5-6 Seasons a 5 Chapters.
Nothing changes besides the counting. (It helps with releasing the game on different platforms.)

2. Steam and Gog.
Talking about different platforms...
I'm currently waiting for Steam to finish their review of my shop page for Summer's Gone.
Soon you can wishlist SG Season 1 on Steam, which would be a big help!

While I was preparing my Steam page, I got contacted by an employee from Gog. They asked me if I want to put my games on their website. (I verified that he's an actual Gog employee.)
So, SG at least will be released on two big platforms in the near future. (Steam with Chapter 5. Gog might be sooner.)

3. Music Deal
I'm currently in contact with a big music site... And I'm not sure if it's actually going to work out. At first, it looked like it, but now I'm not so sure anymore.
It would cost me 8000€ annually and I would gain access to the entire library. (Up to 21000 songs.)
I'll keep you guys updated on that.
I'm actually thinking about hiring someone after my move to Berlin, who contacts artists, etc. for me to secure their licenses.
I find it really annoying to deal with.

Chapter 1 was finished with Chapter 4's full release.

The Nami/MC room scene has changed quite a bit. In the old Ch2, MC said a lot of out-of-character stuff.

This was it with the first bunch of comparisons.
The big changes will occur in the college section. It's quite different now and has two intro routes. (Depends if you did go with Jeff to the gym.)

The first half of the rework ends after Bella's breakdown when Amber drives you back to your place.

People who have sent me a private message and are still waiting on their answer: I'm trying as hard as I can to get through all the messages. I won't copy & paste answers, so it takes time!
But I will get back to you!

I was diging through old dev logs, there and on Discord was stated that Blender only comes into service when Season 1 is finished. That means from the todays devlog view, we can expect Blender in the first update after SG was dropped on Steam/GoG.

I'm no artist, and have no fucking clue about the differences when it comes to work with Blender compared to Daz3D but I assume there are many things done diffrent that must be learned. Let's hope this don't has a to huge impact on the developement times.

As I said, I'm no artist this is all the same for me. Blender, Daz3D as long as there are coming good quality renders out of it and I'm well entertained it makes no diffrence to me.

It is. I tried to learn Blender a couple of years or so ago for reasons not related to games/vns. I never could get good at it at all. I decided to try Daz this past spring. I will be releasing a game in January or February. As steep as the Daz learning curve is it is no where near as steep as Blender. Blender is WAY more versatile and powerful, there have been entire films make completely in Blender, but it is harder (to me). There's a reason most of the 3DCG games on here are Daz or HS2 etc and not Blender.

30 chapters total, so currently Oceans about 1/6 of the way to having the story completed. Even if Ocean takes 3 months per chapter (and that's being generous), that's 75 months; over 6 years until the story is complete.

It's crazy to see vns like WVM (Braindrop), Milfy City (ICSTOR), or Lust Theory (Inceton) having such a large amount of financial support compared to this masterpiece.


Ocean tells a fantastic story with exceptional renders, yet only has a fraction of the support compared to these larger devs (and imo produces SG and WiAB at a much higher quality than those VNs). I hope the Steam launch goes well and Ocean can hire some people to help him accelerate dev time per update. Could just be my impatience, but 6+ years until SG is finished is a looong time
