I feel Ocean has made a rod for his own back making the MC THAT broken and it came home to roost this episode. This episode the Bella route reached the point where them two should be sexual. Bella wants to fuck, the MC wants to fuck, they’re close now, they’re attracted to each other, share a goal, they’re similarly broken to the point of getting one another, they decided to have something casual with the potential for it to be serious plus it's the end of the first season. The build up there is done. This really feels like the point that made sense for it to happen.

Without mentioning it's simply not very satisfying to be playing an MC that outright can't fulfill his part of the dynamic it'd be like playing a FPS where the MC can't shoot guns due to PTSD there's a limit on how long that can work. The real reason I feel is the whole “no sex” made Ocean feel he couldn’t give one route sex as it removes justifications for why it isn’t there on any other route. It feels like no sex and broken MC have become more like principals to follow rather than something that adds to the story.

Basically I feel Ocean shat the bed with this episode. It also ain't a great sign that it looks like routes will basically spin their wheels until all the routes are at the point sex makes sense. It feels a bit absurd.

Frustration, misunderstanding, a feeling of helplessness due to the fact that he isn't able to change his state immediately. Just recall it, that the author constantly focuses our attention on this in the game, and we always brush it off with “yep, sure, broken emo, mental problems, okay, now cut the crap and give us a quality time with <waifu_name>."

Well, he has a perfect moment with Bella in chapter five and so what? And nothing. But isn't that what he was trying to explain to Nami after they left the bar at the end of Chapter 3 before his date with Bella? That it wouldn't work out even if Bella wanted to spend the night after the date with him. That this panic shit won't go away with the snap of a finger. That's why he's willing to take the therapy sessions with Amber seriously instead of just bullshitting to her and pranking the nosy Bella.

And these attacks hit him hard, he had a few exciting moments with the girls at Vic’s - he'll have to run to the bathroom to catch his breath and regain his composure. The same shit in the reading club, a panic attack out of the blue (not really, there are events that provoke this) He can’t cope with this yet. Do you think it would be a good idea for him to try to please Bella in this state in another way, even if he can't get a boner? If he panicked after a slight physical contact earlier.

The dude is still sick and taking the first steps towards recovery, but most of us don't pay much attention to it, as if it were some kind of background decoration or a strange outfit, a minor element of the story. But this is one of the main plot points so far, and many scenes in the game are affected by this.

I love the game to death but for a game that prides itself with how it handles mental health, that scene with the antidepressant was just a stretch like damn (then again it is a porn game but that besides the point)

If it was just one, or two mentions I would think that its just Ocean taking the piss about the usual 'trolls', but it happened too on the nose and multiple times in this update, it feels more like self deprecating humor at this point.

It makes sense, after all: the no sexual intercourse until now is totally for plot reasons. Since Amber's therapy won't solve Nika's issues overnight, it's crystal clear that we (and Bella) will have to wait for a while.

I don't recall any mention here of when in season 2 sex scenes would happen, just that they'd be in season 2.

I read all the DevLogs etc., but it's always possible I missed it, or it was stated on discord (which I'm not on). Otto would have to track down the source they're referring to.

Given the slow progress with MCs psychologically induced erectile dysfunction, I'd find it surprising if he were having intercourse in Ch6 from a story perspective.
