Spoilery content that may or may not be true: It's implied Nami sent the officer after Nika and Summer when they went to the cabin, and that she might have had a hand in sabotaging their relationship. Noji has secrets, I don't think Nami is on on the big secrets that involve her and Nika - Noji knows Nami can't be trusted to stay silent. The current theories are that Noji is purposefully hiding Nika and Nami's parentage from them, and it's no accident that Noji is looking after them. Current theories about their parentage require playin Ocean's other game WiaB and trying to second guess Ocean's plots. The main thing is that there will be some connection with the Zane family, even if it is something like the Zane family in some way caused Nika and Nami to be orphans, if not being their blood relatives. Nami and Sasha's earring belong to a character from WiaB. Sasha is a Petrova, the earrings belong to Ayua's aunt - both Ayua's aunt and Sasha's mum (who owns the tennis club) are the Z and P in ZPR of the college. Nothing is known about why the earrings are given to them. We have no details of Nika and Nami's parents accident, but there are also the Frohns who had a car accident. There is a chance that there might be some criminal war going on and the parents were collateral damage, or everyone has lied to Nika and Nami to hide their parent's identity. The person in a coma is Bella's sister, the one that NIka triggers her by asking about earlier.

Regarding continuation/released, the full chapter 5 release should be soon, and that will add a bit more detail regarding the heist scene and the Holgersons. THe game has an anticipated 30 chapters or so, so we're a sixth of the way in. It will be a slow process, fingers crossed it speeds up, no date has been set, just the length of the game.

If you want more Ocean, check out his other game Where It All Began. It is set before this and you see some of the same characters when they we young - it happens in the same story universe. Ocean's developing both games simultaneously, so it's hard to say exactly which theories are true, but keep checking the thread, we tend to gossip over theories, because it's a pretty grand story.

WiAB is set 20 years or so before SG. Nothing has changed in that regard. Was always like that and still is. The rework has not significantly changed the story or it's time setting.

I assumed you meant NTR rather than NFT when I read your original post. Others might not have, though. I don't think there's anything like an NTR "Canon"in WIAB. Ocean's two games are very malleable in terms of what can happen, depending on choices made. If you turn off NTR in WIAB, then that IS THE CANON for your playthrough.

Maviarab is right though. WIAB is still set 20-odd years before SG. It would be hard not to be, considering the 18-19 year-old offspring of WIAB characters who are characters in SG. I'm not sure where you got the impression it was concurrent with SG.

We actually don't know if there is any NTR in the canon. If it can be turned off, I'd assume that means it's all optional NTR for those that are okay with it. THe thing is that it is a darker and more intense story in regards to relationships. In SG, you get to build new relationships, in WiaB you have to mend broken ones. I'd suggest trying it anyway, as it can be turned off.

WiaB is still set in the past - Ocean is developing them concurrently, but they are still separate times. The protagonist generation in WiaB are older in SG (and we don't know much about them directly as yet). I would highly recommend trying WiaB as it is now with the NTR turned off, as you'll still get all of the actual plot. Even with it turned on, there is currently next to no content that would trigger anyone, so you're safe to at least understand more of the story. NTR isn't my thing either, I'm just going to play making the best kind of choices for the kind of person I am. If I get NTR'd by an AVN, I guess that tells me a bit about my own choices and I need to make better choices

Regarding the length of development - I want it all now of course. Maybe tomorrow at the latest. But I'd rather know it's going to be developed the right way rather than rushed. The overall depth of detail is what makes this game stand out - there are stories playing out in the background of scenes, and there is so much to absorb. The upside is that Ocean is pedantic enough to persist making this. Think of it like a comic - there's always a new episode. Readers of Marvel comics still don't know how it all turns out. I doubt it will be that level of endless, but Ocean has big plans, I can sit and wait and do other things in the mean time, and get excited for each update.

I play all routes and if Ocean as he said, is not changing the story in any considerable way....the number of NTR routes old WiAB had was mind boggling (and didn;t care as hated Miru...new Miru...gahh...so much more improved heh.

Ocean has mentioned that Nika 'manwhore' Cyrus will encounter many problems, so trying to play each path simultaneously is only advised if you like all the LI thinking you're an untrustworthy POS.

This is great for someone like me who had already crossed off 90% of LI's in the first 2 chapters. As long as the Nami-MC-Bella throuple is a possibility, my playthrough will be mostly romance drama free. I'll make a second save for Sasha if she remains an LI as Ocean intended. Outside those 3 I only care about Maja, Robin and Ayua who are unlikely to become future LI's. Just give me all the lewd scenes with 'em.

Same with WiAB. Negative interest in anyone outside of Miru and Katie.

Zara though is in my botttom 2 with Nia. I've gone on about this in depth dozens of times but it's mostly her personality. I just can't deal with anyone who is that fragile yet toxically competitive all the time about everything. Nia's demeanor is also repellent to me. And I don't find either of them subjectively attractive.

Finally getting around to playing the latest update and it's just confirmed my impressions from earlier in the game that Nia is a terrible character; not in terms of either who she is or what she is, but the way Oceanlab tries to reconcile the two aspects of her and the implications. She was a sensitive and lonely child, but who obviously had a loving mother, who eventually dealt with that loneliness in the worst possible way, torching her relationship with her family in the process. And trying to explain it away as "I have a high sex drive"... it makes my head hurt. There is no happy endings for this type of girl, if she exists, IRL. And I don't play these games to get fucking depressed. If want that I'll just listen to Gut's Theme and re-read Berserk Vol.13.

NTR aside, I always got the impression the original WIAB had an option for William Zane to ditch/break up with Miru and pursue other LI(s).

SG blows that option being canon out of the water. Ayua Zane in SG - (a) who has Katie Zane (William's sister) as an auntie, (b) is of Asian descent, (c) and is a fighter who knows Miru's secret family fighting style - points to William and Miru reconciling any drama and likely marrying.

The only outlier scenarios I can think of where William/Miru don't marry are:

(a) Katie Zane is an auntie and Ayua carries the Zane family name through either adoption from an estranged/deceased Miru or see (b) below.

(b) Ayua is of Asian descent and although Miru is the likeliest mother, Ocean revives an original WIAB plot where Miru's Japanese crime family discover Miru's location, travels from Japan to Wollust to confront her, and William gets it on with some sister of Miru (!!??).

(c) Ayua knows and practices Miru's secret family fighting style and the only scenarios where Miru didn't teach her are either Miru teaching Leia and William enough of the secret style for the Zane family to steal it or see (b) above.
