The rework of the family situation in WiaB is done clearly because of Ocean bowing to Patreon to keep SG save. And it is a horrible decision storywise. Making Willi and Leia adopted (in addition to other changes) the story already starts to unravel at the seams, since the convoluted family situation is/was a major factor in the game. Many things do not make any sense anymore with how the rework of the background is going. In some cases there is suddenly a "why at all?" question how it happened.
Wiab is now quickly turning into a story with the stupid landlord/tennant situation thanks to Patreon. How long until Leia is not a LI anymore?
As said before, the secrets, mysteries and the convoluted family situation of the Zanes, Reveras and Petrovas were a major pull factor of WiaB.

See, the question I have is what exactly is unravelling? Ocean has said old WiaB is not a guide for the new one since Ch1 rework appeared. What about the family situation is unravelled? We don't know the full story of why William left in current WiaB, we don't know much about the family relations other than Katie's allegations about William and Leia (which are still in play unless Ocean removes Leia as a LI). We've had one sentence about the change, and no actual info of how the Zane household is in Ch4, so it's crazy to say it's unravelled without actually seeing what direction Ocean's taking it. The only thing that has unravelled is people expectations based on the first version of WiaB. We have to see what Ch4 brings to the table to see if it has damaged more than expectations. I'm not denying the flow of the story will be different, but we can't judge it until we've played it.

Dana is the only landlord we know of. We don't know the household situation of the Zane's yet.

Regardless of what happens with the Zanes, the Reveras and Petrovas had no convoluted family issues. Elena was only introduced in Ch6 and had a cameo, with a cinematic at the end, there was no romance with her yet. Donna was the only Revera unless William got her pregnant, and we haven't gotten that far into the story of the rework to know if that's going to happen or not. So those secrets of how William and Leia allied with Elena and Donna are still as mysterious as before the rework, because there's no reveals yet.

Miru agrees to teach them fight, I don't remember if is explicit stayed that is her family style, she speaks about showing a little, same as Auya, but I can be wrong. I don't know about Miru adopting William's bastards, given how fixed she is in have babys of her own I don't think she will gladly accept those of other woman, less if is one she did not consented to William sleep with. Too many variables and as always to little information to have a clear answer.

I am leaning more that Sasha knows "normal" fighting styles, with some insights of Miru techniques, as is Leia and Katie and only William and her directs descents knows the full style.

We know by the earning that Leia, and maybe to some extend the Zanes, as a interest in Nami and Sasha. Sasha already comes from a influential family and is friends with Auya. In my mind the question is what Sasha and Nami has in common, if anything, to both have Leia's earrings ? And what exactly it entails, can not be only protection, Sasha's family can provide protection it has to be a meaning beyond simply association.



In the Old WiaB Miru in did had a sister, now we don't know she might or might not. Now I don't know, I don't think Miru would accept William's bastards but I don't think it would mean that Sasha and Auya could not be friends. A lot of this depends in what happened in Where it all Began and what is the canon end, and that we don't know, is not that I think my version in more likely than yours, I am just saying the reasons that makes be disagree with you in this topic.



While I fully agree, and I have said it other times, a mystery is while as good as it reveals and Ocean has many in both os his stories. Not all of them needs to be reveled now or ever, but a story does not survives of only mystery, at some points he needs to start answer questions, I hope he can do it.



That is not true, granted I don't think any AVN will earn a Nobel or something like that, to say that all are low grading write is unfair... even if is true in 98.5% of the time. Summer's Gone is a good exemple, while is not extraordinary Ocean does knows how to write character and character interactions very well, is not perfect, but it is well written. I would not put it as the same generic " Fuck your family in their sleep 561651" game that exist.

Not sure about Dwight being Sasha's bodyguard. Also, would be strange for Ayua to be wanting dick pics if she was in a commited relationship with someone with as much of a resting bitch face as Sasha has (love it by the way, so serious). Dwight being Ayua's bf? Then why again is she into Nika's dick pics, and why does Dwight send randoms dick pics? Most likely Dwight is simply Sasha's brother. It'd be weird that he let Ayua get all drunk horny and talking about marriage with Nika otherwise.

Regarding the martial arts, it's simply that we don't know why knows the super special hadouken of Ayua's style. But Ayua can teach, and Miru can teach, that's why they have a studio, to teach. So it's almost irrelevant whether Sasha knows the secret technique, she's learning MMA of some sort, and she's good. Ayua will train Nika, in some form she knows, because that's what she does for a job. Again the secret technique is not needing to be a consideration. Miru teaching Leia to fight shows that Miru is willing to accept people close to William, even if she isn't certain about them yet, it's more showing that she's willing to accept people purely because William accepts them in some cases, which ties in with the idea that (potentially) Miru might accept the need to look out for William's wider wild oat crop. She might do that purely to keep WIlliam close.

Also, we don't know that Ayua's not being a silly drunk and pretending to be epic.

The earring situation we'll keep second guessing and pondering for a while yet, that's going to be too valuable a secret for a little while yet. Vanessa knows it has meaning, Ayua and Sasha do, Nami does now, but didn't know when she got it. SOmething important is that Nami got the earring BEFORE the thing with Summer, so the earring is unrelated to Summer.

Mysteries of course can't multiply endlessly or we'll give up trying to understand. BUt some mysteries are more satisfying unsolved. Summer is one of those in my opinion. I like the idea of Nika uncovering more and more details, but never finding out the full story. At some point, reaching a decision to give up his LI or pursue the past, without any hint that he'll find Summer. Maybe it's foolish for me to hope for that narrative, but I like the idea.

Pardon me, but you are wrong on this! The texts and inferences in the first two and part of the third chapters of Wiab make it very clear that it is 80-90% the story of old Wiab resequenced, polished, some aspects changed and several bugs weeded out.

I'm not saying that there won't need to be changes, but I think it won't actually require such a huge amount, as the story is barely established. Literally only the finger to the knuckle, we don't have an arm or a leg to go out on. People playing it who are new to chapter 4 won't know the difference. Yes, things will be lost, but that is one big danger of playing a work in progress - things change. I personally find that part fascinating, how things evolve. But I really should talk about that in WiaB's thread.

For me the changes in SG - particularly Nami, made her for the first time a character I could relate to. Some of these things are personal taste, so I can understand that a change (like Mila from slim to large) will make people feel like they've been baited and switched. But if you look now, there's barely any evidence that Mila was slim. People playing for the first time, well, it's their first impression. What we risk by playing early in the WIP stage is developing impressions of things that will be cut from development.

Oh I can see it the same problems as you with the theory, that is why I said I was unsure about its likelihood. Still... in a vacum I like the ideia that Sasha and Auya are a thing, maybe not a formal thing but a fooling around thing. Also Helen and Dylan had a open relationship at some point ( Helen taught William to not have jealous after all ) so does Miru and William, how far fetched it is that Auya may like the idea as well ? That said I agree, the most likely is that Dwigth is Sasha brother. Now is he full brother or half brother ?

Oh I absolutely agree, I don't think it is all that important, was just indulging the ideia that the other member brought forward. About Miru and Leia, I partly agree, accept the family of the man you want to marry, even if you are unsure about them, is not at all the same as accept the bastard child of said man. Miru never wanted the open relationship, William (the player) has to press her on it, I am not saying that she would never accept William's - potentially - bastards child. I am saying that I don't think it would be to the extend that she would reveal her family secret to them. I don't think that was just drunk talk on Auya part but this is only personal interpretation. I don't know, Miru has made some remarks on the last chapter that hints to a more darker past to her that we don't know yet, if I was to make a bet I think we will get something similar to OG WIAB but you are right it might not be a thing anymore.

I absolutely agree. I don't think that we need to know what happens to Summer exactly and I really like your idea, it fits really well with the themes. Sadly I don't think this is the direction Ocean is going but I really like the idea. But I was talking more of the other like the earring, where are all the father, what is up with the Holgersons, why is Nojiko lying, why was Katie in the bookclub and some others, this are the ones that do need a explanation.

I can certainly agree to those questions being important - the SUmmer thing becomes a trap to answer completely - most people will feel it is too weak a reason for Nika to have lost his horny ability over if she just got taken by her parents to a new school. I can imagine Emilio researching and coming up with a cold trail, things that hint but don't explain quite enough. Meanwhile we'll be busy finding out what kind of persons the Holgersons are, what happened to Bella's sister, what is in Nami's past that makes Nika need to tell Amber, what Nika's charge was for, the violent incident, Katie's interest, the earring. Those are all things that will fit like a jugsaw puzzle.

Regarding Ayua teaching techniques, we only hear about the secret technique while she's drinking, what if she is joking? Flirting? In WiaB, Miru doesn't mention secret techniquesjust her techniques. If she has secret skills she doesn't share, well, they're secret because she's not telling. I think the new Miru will have a more realistic past, definitely still violent, because of the knife throwing etc. I think she'll just be very good at beating people up, less of a cartoon ninja. But we will see, those are small mysteries that will probably start being explained sooner.

Every LI has something to overcome, we had some glimpses of Sasha in chapter 5 with he medication and the harassment that she has suffered, the bodyguard but not quite enough to have a clear picture of it.

I mean given that the university is shared between the three families I expect that they all know each other, even if they are not all friends. SG characters and their relationship could use a appendices like those of ASOIAF, it would make easier to track who is who and their relationship with each other.

Or he is Sasha's bodyguard, and actually Ayua is Sasha's girlfriend.

Vic being desperate - reject her every single time and see what she's like. She won't take no well. Although she seems open to sharing, I suspect she's rationalising to accomodate her fears of being alone. It's like when you leave after Maja gets you to come around, Vic is in tears because she is afraid she didn't make the connection with Nika, or something. She has also put him on a pedestal, fixated on him, maybe because he was there in the moment and she thinks he prevented her from being killed? She sees him as something extraordinary, and he's a link to how she was before the accident? Something is there.

The other relationship is the Benz's - we see Nadia and Zara get along, Zara talks with goth/pizza girl, but Zara seems quite separate from the others, but also fairly self sufficient. My guess is we'll start seeing more of the interactions through AUrora on the phone, and that will give us clearer indications of the way characters socialise. What would be great is if Ocean develops a bio that looks like a contact card in the phone, so we can keep track of the characters relations. Most games with large casts seem to do something similar.

I kinda feel that's pretty normal for her, it's not a raised eyebrows look, she appears to be staring straight ahead, slightly down at the bar in front of her not twisted left to look over at Nika and Ayua - look at her boddy in the following screens:

First shot we see, Robin has turned her body to greet them where they're standing at their table, Sasha's looking at the bar, this is before your screen shot. She doesn't appear to really move. We can clearly see Robin is turn to face them and Sasha isn't. In the screen shot you've posted, Sasha is looking straight.



She turns to Dwight on her left to get him to act as Ayua's on personal bouncer (because he's not paying any attention to Ayua making a mess of herself, even though Layla's worried from the bar), then looks back at where Ayua's making a mess of herself, we can see her turned to look.

I have noted the same thing, now this is because of her or because of her family that she has those connections ? I think reserved is more appropriate than shy, Sonya is shy, Sasha just is comfortable in her position, don't know if I could make myself clear here but in my mind they are not quite the same thing.

But I do have. I mean, nobody takes a no well. I think that Vic takes as well as she could, when knowing you and Bella are a thing she even wants make sure that you are still up to it, quite mature, but nobody likes to know that their feelings are not reciprocate. Now about the rest I completely agree, she seems to be a little obsessed with him and not on a normal, starstruck way but as a little bit creppy. Less now. Before the rework Vic gave me all kinds of icky feelings, but now I just think that there is too much in her head and she is trying to make it all work by pushing through and at some point she will just collapse. There is just so many ways that she could go, I really like Vic and think she is sub estimated to a fault.

When I was written about Auya and Sasha was thinking the same thing. Zara and the Benz's seems oddly detached, the only friends Zara seems to have is Nadya and is not like a best friends type. Vanessa is girlfriends with Mario but it seems is more of a experiment on her part and we don't hear of friends and the like. Nick is just a good guy, trying to live is life, no relations that we know off with the dirty side of Wollust, and when I think of it... feels wrong. I kinda want to believe but when I think about it I get the feeling that we don't know of something.

Someone suggest it in discord to him. I think he said he was already working on it but did not know when would be ready. I also am curious to see Aurora, so many opportunities to slide in information.

I did notice the pole dance, and I know the Zanes are fucked up and all but how much fucked up is to a college bar have a pole dance ? I mean, now I expect it to be used, I know is a sport of sorts and all that. I am just really curious to know how it came to be it, probably Leia remembered the young days when she was a pimp and thought, "fuck it!", I am gonna put a pole dance here.

We meet this artistic soul named Karen briefly in the 2nd chapter. What I find interesting about her is that I'm pretty sure I've seen somewhere before. I just don't know where to put her... Well, as for Karen, i wouldn't have problem where to put it

I did notice the pole dance, and I know the Zanes are fucked up and all but how much fucked up is to a college bar have a pole dance ? I mean, now I expect it to be used, I know is a sport of sorts and all that. I am just really curious to know how it came to be it, probably Leia remembered the young days when she was a pimp and thought, "fuck it!", I am gonna put a pole dance here.

I don't think there is anything strange about a college bar having a pole for dancing.

When I was in college, one of the bars had 3 poles on an elevated dance floor (about 1/4 of the total dance floor) and lady's nights, where the women got in without a cover.

The boldest women danced on the elevated section of the dance floor, using the pole for support if they were not too drunk (and sometimes when they were...) and the guys bought them drinks.

I know from friends who were bartenders that those nights were some of the best for profits for that bar.

Skin to win was often the theme for any 'dance' contests and it was a great time to cut loose.

I can imagine Ocean doing a cinematic with one of the first team women using the pole to show off her moves, all to a rocking soundtrack (maybe not as good as

I think the opening night for the bar could be a great scene, especially if there are different variations depending on the LI path the MC is on.

To be honest the idea of a college bar is an alien one to me. In my little corner of the world colleges has hospital, museum, sometimes theaters and show houses but never bar -or gym-. There are bar where colleges studants goes but those are not related to the college, as it seens is the case in SG.

Either is normal or not is secondary, it takes place in a fictic world anyway, but everyone has their own references what is normal. When Nika's decides that he will go for a walk late at night I think, this is a good way of get yourself killed, but I know that is a comom thing in Germany. Same way the pole dance in a college bar, for me is a foregin idea, a bit out of place and because of that, a funny one.
