I wont pretend that I understand devlopment, but he has not already previewed how the new menus and the like will be ? I don't know how hard it is to code it into the game but I felt like this was something that was not ready but thought out.
Oh he does. He showed the new GUI some days after Steam release. It was already done. Coding a GUI doesn't take much. Maybe he took a week for it and tried several things until he was pleased, but that would be already slow. We shouldn't forget we talk about Ren'Py. It's not that hard.

It's not that hard, but don't forget that he released WIAB with an empty gallery on the Steam release
Well, we're talking about Ocean here. There's a big bug in Gallery of Summer's Gone and also a major bug with one variable he didn't fixed until today. Like I said, Ren'Py isn't hard. If you ask me, Ocean just making excuses. I don't think he's lazy. Don't get me wrong. I just think he's not able to work straight and focused. I think we all can give him he's a very great artist when it comes to rendering. Even his haters can't deny it. But personally I think he lacks in the discipline to just work on the current part until it's done before switching to another part. At least that's the impression I got after reading numerous of his devlogs.

I think there were some additional details about the new UI somewhere (phone apps concept and such), but I'm too lazy to look for them.

Yeah, that was what I was talking about. Provided that he knows how it will look like, things should go a bit faster. I don't really understand code só I can't say for that but at least the design side of things is done

Phone apps will definitely take time to code. Especially the new ones like Venus and Aurora.

Yeah, but he got a coder for this ones, or not ? I remember something along those lines. I am here long enough to know that Ocean hates coding and also is not great at it

He certainly has a guy who does the ui, but I don't know if that guy helps him with the coding too. And yeah, he hates writing code himself, but he hates irresponsible "experts" who have screwed him several times even more. :HideThePain:
