The last writing task is sadly <censored> so we don't know what it is. It may just as well be proofreading or something that's related to the release.

1. Hiring manager doesn't make sense in such a project. There is a good joke about project managers. They are people who think that 9 women will give birth in one month. As a freelancer I would not hire a person who only tells me what to do and set unrealistic deadlines - this I could do by myself.

Another thing is about those "realistic dates". 2 weeks ago, after a week stuck at 97%, DC posted "almost finished" and that we wait for last 2 animations. At that point, bug testing should start. I can't imagine that now, after 2 weeks, we have 200 bugs with those 2 animations that were finally delivered. That is, in fact, bad project management.

0.17 was released 6 months ago - If this update doesn't end up having lots of content then I see no point in further supporting it.
Project managers are people who make you work and by your message I don't think you like that as a freelancer. I work with freelancers daily and most of them aren't even competent. Wonder why...probably attitude.

Can't even recall how many times I had to correct something that freelancers botched. A daily occurence and disease.

Since the tracker's total percent doesn't account for the bugs, I'm wondering if maybe the last few tasks might actually be done, but they're leaving them unchecked to avoid saying the game is 100% complete when there are actually a whole pile of bugs to fix. That was always a big problem in the past, before they had bugs on the tracker in the first place. Lot of confused people wondering about the holdup.

Obviously I can't prove if that's the case, but if it is, I don't think it's working all that well. A frozen 98% is barely different than a frozen 100%.

Well, that's not the case with SS. The game is and has always been free and everybody will get it on the same day.

So why advertise that if you pay, you get early access? When in fact, that's not the case.

Well, patreons get the game first. How else would you call that? The way DC handels it is, by the way, the most sensible thing to do. Having a two week delay while the game will be all over the internet 1h after it's been released, is beyond pointless.

PS: It's pretty odd to discuss this here. Those stupid "weeks of early access" are one of the reasons why F95zone exists in the first place.

We're past the point of five full months and are entering the sixth month. Is it likely to hit six full months? No, but you can't fault people for being impatient. Especially when the last two updates were shit, and this next one is going to be a reworking of an old update. At the rate DC and company work, and having worked in game development I know how slow things can be so I'm not faulting them for it, it'll have been around a year without any truly new content by the time the update after this one hits.
Why are you even bothering with this game if you somehow think the Roxxy update was shit?

If DC ran an actual company, he would've gone bankrupt ages ago.
Kompa Productions is a *real* company.

The Roxxy update was great, the teachers update too, imo only the last one was meh, since we already had Diane scenes before and the few new ones didn't make up for it.

no bug fixing happening anymore, maybe they stopped testing for today. have no hope this releases today, maybe tomorrow. its really crazy that implementing two animations and testing the whole thing is taking days. especially because there are multiple people working on it.

I mean, of course you're vehemently defending DC, I wouldn't expect any less. But "Kompas Productions", my dear mentally ill friend, is not an actual company. It doesn't generate any revenue. It runs solely on donations. If that's an actual company to you, I don't know.. Anyway, nice attempt at a decent argument.
Don't have to generate revenue to be a company and they are still taxed as one through the patreon. Please try again.

Considering it's now in the implementation stage, that's where the programming work has to be done; and when it comes to programming, errors can pile up quickly - not just that, but there's only 1 person doing the actual coding, namely Dogeek. I can only imagine it being a total nightmare, considering it's python, on which the syntax and spacing rules I absolutely hate.

Roxxy update was the best so far, teacher update was kinda boring to me at least because it was too many teachers and the sex scenes were kinda boring compared to roxxy where its mostly focused on 1 character. Diane was also pretty good aside from the no preggo sex :(

Tbh bug fixing could already happen as soon as the writing is done, if art is missing you could use placeholders to be efficient, I guess most bugs happen because of the mini games and unique stuff that they use that renpy doesn't make possible in easy ways but honestly does anyone really like the mini games I always skipped them if I could after trying them once lol

Yeah.. by definition actually. Whether you see them as a business or a group of people working collectively to achieve something. A COMPANY!

Hey man, I know something about QA testing as well. In my opinion, there aren't even that many bugs - it's just a visual novel after all and there aren't any new minigames coming so it is as you say. They just check bugs every morning and reopen them in the google sheet as not fixed or wherever they have them listed. And then it goes full circle...

For example this day today, there was an influx of 20 new bugs, they have been testing this visual novel for over a month now? And suddenly 20 issues popped up? By progress bar they haven't even added anything new. Therefore it is obvious that there is a number of bugs that they're trying to deal with but so far they cannot. It's not like coder is a pro, if he was he'd be working at a real company and wouldn't waste time doing commissions for porn game :p
Summerside Saga is not a visual novel, more of the sandbox style type of game. Most VNs are pretty linear, with the variable affecting downstream processes. SS has multiple linear streams that can affect each other, so I would imagine the code is far more bug prone. Plus they still have the Eric "module" throwing a wrench in the works.

Hasn't this happened every time they added a new mechanic to the game? IIRC the introduction of the perganancy mechanic in the Diane update delayed it a lot.

Mm, I like it when you get rough with me. Bruh, take it down a notch with the tough guy act. We're 2 guys arguing over a fucking porn game, can't get more pathetic than that. Also, thank you for proving my point, that Kompas is *not* a real company. Cheers, my guy.
corrected my post. Kompas Productions is a collection of individuals working collectively to achieve a goal. A company. Prove me wrong. There is no argument. I made a fair point and you apparently just got raped by your uncle.
