He doesn't, you can have your own opinion on him and can lean your beliefs as you see fit. At the end of the day you're free to do and think what you want, but when you start calling people cultists for not agreeing with your conclusions, and generally become obsessive about "the truth", people will call out how you're neither arguing in good faith or good logic.
I have played the release, its a dogshit update that's even more barren than I imagined worst case scenario would be. It killed all hope and good will for me. But I don't think that makes it shady, it just shows that the development is in a rougher state than I anticipated.
DC has said long before this release that patrons were getting angsty for tangible progress and that he was looking for a solution, he's been transparent about this, he gave the answer to your question before you even asked it. Maybe he equated the abandoned tag into his decision to release a partial update as well, but I personally doubt it was the main reason because DC already has a cashflow to please and F95zone is not part of that.
For the record, I don't even think you're necessarily wrong, you could be right for all I know. I personally don't hold a very positive opinion on DC as well, I've always had a problem with how he runs things, it feels to me that he wants his cake and eat it too. And while I have my reasonings for thinking that, it remains speculative. And let's be real here, it's just a porn game.
