That could be true, I've just seen to many devs outside of nsfw doing scummy stuff so I'm not surprised if that stuff bled into nsfw games as well, hopefully after all the tech stuff is done that the updates start to come out in a timely fashion but we'll see.

I'm glad the mods applied it the same as they do all other games that go through this.
The hysteria from both sides did not affect it. I agree with other comments that we need a more descriptive tag like dev hell but for now this is what fits this game.

I feel like this is largely rose glasses and nostalgia speak. The game is a loose set of cliche characters and little vignettes that for the most part go nowhere, and which you'll find implemented in similar manner in the vast majority of these other games on offer. Maybe it was innovative in 2016, but 8 years later there's nothing of real note here. I think my first experience with this title was about a year ago, and tbh i grew bored of it and shelved it fairly quickly, because it was all "same old" with somewhat goofy art that didn't do it any favors.

I did not get that from the post you quoted. The tag really doesn't matter IMO, I just hope they don't remove it after the upcoming pre-tech update but they probably will.

Im pretty sure DC said in his streams this new update will have new content so yeah the tag should be gone.
Personally i dont care that much,i just found funny how people want new threads or new tags because of this game,like fuck off.

I feel like this is largely "didn't like the game" speak. Which is fine, you can dislike it, but implying something is obsolete because derivatives exist is just kinda dumb. Not a porn game, but think of CoD 4. There have been countless games copying the same formula. There have been numerous sequels/reboots as well. Does the existence of those games diminish CoD 4? Fuck no. That shit still slaps. A classic of its genre. Same with this game.
Also, if you "shelved it fairly quickly", how can you say for certain there is nothing of note? If you stick with it there is actually some pretty good shit in the game.

Good thing i haven't said the game is obsolete, then. What i actually said was that's there's nothing about it that sets it apart in positive manner. Which means that, between mediocre writing and art style which is acquired taste the claim how this is "a good game compared to others" doesn't have much leg to stand on -- it's not "good game compared to others" but "a game like many others". So this isn't really a good explanation for continuous, excessive level of funding it receives.
If i have to play 20-30 hours in order to find anything worthy of note then you aren't exactly selling me on this idea this is actually a good game.

There's really not that much else on offer. Sure, there are ton of japanese 2D VNs and RPGM-games (which many people grow tired of after some time) but next to these, there really aren't many 2D games which offer a similar overall quality. Sure, it's subjective, but even if you read through the last 1000 pages of shit talk, you'll really only find very, very few people who complain about the quality. That does say something.
So yeah, SS is indeed one of the best non-anime art 2D games on offer right now. I mean, if you can actually name a few which are way better, I'd be happy to get suggestions. I'd almost certainly play them sooner or later.
