As disappointed as I am about the net result of all this, I can honestly say I'm surprised they made it this far. Patreon had been on the war path for awhile now, so no one should be surprised.
My hope is that with all the support for this project, DC pushes forward. The internet is a vast place and at the end of the day, this hurdle isn't anything a little investment or ingenuity can't solve.
Personally, if I were him I would have been working on plan B months ago during the first round of reviews. And as a Dev, our team is already considering our alternatives even though we aren't currently running afoul of Patreon's policies.
But we're waiting for the day they shut down all adult devs, in which case, we hope to have some kind of seamless transition in place before that day comes.
I'm not religious in any fashion, but you gotta build the ark before the storm.
DC should make a Patreon friendly sister's update and all the rest, with the possibility of incest being restored by a pesky third party patch, just like other devs have done.
Spies, spies everywhere. The problem is that if Patreon starts to suspect he's embedding incest content with the unexpressed intent of having a third party unlock it, they will shut him down all the same.
Patreon is like dealing with a Casino, they hold all the cards and the odds are in their favor. And at any time they dislike the way you are even looking at the dealer, they can throw you out on the strip.
