the agruement is about, "value."

been going on for a few years now. Most of the people here would make terrible salespeople, judging from their lack of understanding of other peoples' value-systems. It is pretty entertaining.
There's a certain irony of talking about that on a porn pirating board, wouldn't you agree?

This picture seems to represent the average Patreon member since DC hasn't put out but Wallpapers in 14 months and has been working on the tech update for years, yet his Patreon numbers are going up. It's legitimately mind-blowing.
I think people seriously undererstimate the number of patrons who subscribe/unsubscribe. Given the fluctuation each month, it technically takes like ~6 months or so to replace every single patron DC has with someone new. SS simply has a massive reach via all kinds of (social) media and as such there seem to be more than enough people who discover the game, like it and spend a few dollars.

It would be interesting to know whether patreon actually provides devs with information about, for example, the time an average patron has been subscribed or so.

If they don't release an update in the next 4 months you will get your wish and the game will be tagged as abandoned until they release something.
And until then we'll read the same stuff over and over again. Like the whole GTA 6 joke that's been repeated about a dozen times now.

the "progress" bar on the main site has been on 78% for so long...
5 days... over the christmas holiday weekend and the few days since then 74,226. Most likely will be that way until a week or so after the New Year holiday weekend, too. Strange how people want to enjoy family time and celebrate the season's holidays with friends, isn't it?

So many people crying about the game, and specially about the dev.

This is how you measure the dev sucess, and a good game, PLUS the quantity of jealous people concerning about the devs revenue/money, is insane lol.
Most of these people are not patreons of the game, and have it freely, but they keep complaining anyway... : D
Pure clown world.

EDIT: For those who are giving me Facepalms on this post, I wanted to remind you that a Facepalm counts as a like in the end, so thank you to everyone who gave me Facepalms, and therefore, gave me likes in the overall count on my profile.

You seems to have thought this through pretty alright. Crunching numbers and all. :)

Correction though: the cost of an average AAA game from start to release averages around 60 million bucks. Someone from Sony actually bitched about that the other day. 3 million+ is maybe in the AA range, but games like Rogue City also make me think that doesn’t apply anymore.
