Here, DC hired a team, grew the team, and kept making more money. He claims he worked in gaming before this. He clearly knows what he is doing.

I kind of feel we aren't talking about the same thing. I mean, he partly seems to have left the industry because he didn't like the whole middle management thing and wanted to do his own thing on a small scale. It totally makes sense to not replicate that business environment again and grow above a certain level, if he hates to work like that. That's probably all I can answer to your post, because we fundamentally seem to disagree on this very, very basic princinple. You want to force him to grow, just because he happens to earn X amount of money. I respect his decision as long as he's willing to live with the consequences.

He also directly interacted with an impossible to please group of people. No one should be surprised he developed anger issues. I saw a post on reddit saying this game needs more gay content....nothing pleases game players, ever.

Hm? Anger issues? I'm listening to quite a few streams and I can't see any of that. He's doing his thing, people can send him good suggestions, if he likes them, he'll consider it, if not, then not. Next to that, people will always complain, no matter what one does, it just comes wit the numbers.

Edit: Sorry, I didn't realize this was about Dogeek. Well, he's always been a very free spirit, who quite often, even before he left, did things DC didn't really seem to approve. Given their interactions at times, I was actually surprised it didn't happen earlier. At least I wouldn't have have put up with some of those things...

Did anyone ask for a near complete overhaul of the art he spent months doing?

First of all, all those (in some areas, like south east asia more than 50%) who play on mobile required the rig-system for the game to stay as small as it is and second of all, the game has finally won some consistency, which greatly improve the overall quality.

Seeing as how it has been more than 2 years? Yeah not much. And if my memory serves correctly the teachers update was roughly around 16 lewd scenes? Not sex just lewd whereas his single updates used to contain 6 scenes. So yeah 50k a month for 4 lewd scenes. Man tough job indeed.

Na, the next update will have 5 sex scenes and an unkown amount of lewd stuff. Those were never announced before the update dropped.

Haha, I don't think you understood my point. Even if the next update has 5 sex scenes and (i am going to be generous and say) 20 lewd (stuff) scenes, that still puts it at 5 overall scenes a month. So yeah 50k for 5 scenes a month. If the patrons are happy with this math, then good for them.

If you want to focus on sex scenes, this game isn't for you anyway. It has always been weak on those and since the started caring about proper quests design and basically doubled the quality of the scenes, the number stayed small. Having said that, the game as a game/product did improve massively. I've recently looked into 0.14.5 (the last true incest version) and one really tends to forget how bad it actually was back then.

The progress of this game stands at its pace, despite everything, for one simple reason - he's creating a bottleneck on purpose. He knows how this shit is done and he keeps saying how he can't find someone to match his style. People make careers off of mimicking other artist style. There are websites devoted to hiring people who can draw. No one else on the planet making 50k a month seems to have an issue finding someone simply to make background art to speed up a job. Last time I check, DC remains, not a unicorn. Hence, I feel this is a being done on milk an audience. Did anyone ask for a near complete overhaul of the art he spent months doing?

You don't need to look that far. Just take a peek at the fan art thread or some mod (I forgot which one) that has extra content indistinguishable from DC's work. He only needs to make assets. Facial expressions and body proportions. The rest can be worked on by any decent artist. Of course I don't blame him. He has no need to push out updates faster. There is no added reward. He is getting paid irrespective of his pace so it makes complete sense that he continues at the current pace and prolongs this project as long as possible. He made the right decision from a business perspective.

The eagle eyed among the audience would notice the content seems massive but the story scenes use the same assets. Same character drawings with different background (not unique art) and new texts. So yeah, you only need to stop and look objectively at each update and the lack of content becomes abundantly clear. The size of new content is not proportional to the playtime, never is.

I think what I am trying to say is clear. I don't want to prolong this discussion and turn it into me vs everyone who absolutely loves the dev. But I stand by the dev's choice of limiting update size because that is the right move from a business perspective. Why deliver more when audience is happy with what they have? The game is good, always has been. I hope you guys do enjoy it.

That's what they did before to bloat their content, like Jenny's "story" was bascailly nothing else but a permanent repeat of quests and even scenes. Now the stories are a lot more diverse/unique, while the assetmanagement via the rig-system got a lot better, so many things can be combined at will. Actually basically just as you suggested in the post before. Every character now has a torso, interchangeable arms and facial impressions.

Else it's fine that people stop pledging if they don't agree with his way of working. After all, that's what patreon is about.

If you are crunching numbers, please crunch them correctly. There are 4 sex events with teachers, right. But Ms. Bissette has two angels, and Ms. Okita has the VR flavor. So you could count that as five to six scenes easily. And they have more than seven frames per animation, which is more than doubling frames per animation as compared to older content. Newest animations have about ten frames or more. So the quality improved significantly.

If you'd rather have your old boring low quality three frames stuff, this game is not for you, fortunately.

Plus, this game has one of the best written stories I ever saw.

And please do not compare fan art with DC. The fan art I see is either worlds away from DC's style, or simply copy/paste work.

I feel like I am repeating the same thing over and over. Please read a post multiple times if you don't get it. I said the teachers update had "16" lewd scenes meaning unique scenes. The teachers update took four months meaning 4 (unique) scenes a month. "The plus other lewd stuff" you mentioned? I accounted for that! Please read. The frames in animations are not unique scenes! And DC already has animators for SS, AEHentai and another one to do his animations. He also has writer to write the story. His job is primarily art. And he gets 4-6 months time for that! And as for fan arts copying DC's work- "THAT IS THE ESSENCE OF USING ASSETS". Do you think DC draws every lewd or other scenes from scratch? No! He uses assets. That is the essence of every scene in most games. And seeing 60-75% of his income is for art.. but you know what? I am done with this.

Read the end of every post I wrote- If patrons are happy, good for them! My posts neither portrayed any hatred for the dev or complain. This was just to show the productivity with respect to investment in the game. But seeing people vehemently trying to justify the game's progress just reminds me why people are paying him so much in the first place.

You are not his Patreon. You're not one of his main supporters. You have no idea what kind of demands and relationship he has with the people that fund him, and what kind of priorities they want. You'd have a better one of you read what those patrons write instead of generalizing and writing them off based on the amount of sex scenes you counted. People have different priorities than yours. People want different things from you. Some people want depth instead of quantity, quality scenes that are better build up instead of hyperfocus on animation. That had always been the main appeal of SS for a lot of people.

Can you measures the emotional satisfaction from a well written story? Of a well developed romance? You are not vindicated in your complaints. You can dislike how the game is being made, you can dislike the speed at which it is being developed, you can whine, bitch, piss, moan, and cry about it all the live long day. However ultimately the people who pay into his patreon are fine with how the game is being made. DC has support and has consistently had that support for years. He rarely misses deadlines, he always updates with a lot of content per update, the work is always high quality, and the team is small. Your whining is not vindicated simply because development of the game is slow.

And no, he's not going to take longer because of the pandemic. He's going to take longer because he just had a kid. Life is more important than the lives you spill into your hand.

after playing 30min i can say this game is a fucking perfect ,, i hate his sister&Roxxy

You can chose the ones you want to play. There are basically no real connections at the moment, apart from some minor exceptions (like Debbie and Diane to get a special scene).

As of complete routes? The most complete ones are probably Eve, Roxxy (her story is really good, you should try it) and Jenny. Diane's is fine too but feels a bit rushed and needs a proper ending, while Debbie, Mrs. Johnson, the 4 teachers except the coach and Mia are somewhat complete for now but need further content/updates, to reach the quality of the ones mentioned before.

Edti: Keep in mind though that currently no route really has a "real ending", for that we'd need the dating system and the prom, which aren't in the game yet.
