So I looked into it, the Irish speak IRISH, not english.
which is actually a different language.
Google translate example:
English: My son is attending middle school
Irish: Tá mo mhac ag freastal ar mheánscoil

The translation of the word college (english) into irish gives "Coláiste"
The translation of the word middleschool (enlgish) into irish gives "meánscoile"
As such, in Ireland they do not use "college" to mean middle school. they use "meánscoile" to say middle school.

Also the question was whether people use the collective noun "college"
ex "my son (who is 13 year old) is attending college (referring to the word for a middle school)"
Not the whether there are middle schools with college in their NAME.
ex "my son (who is 13 year old) is attending a middle school called Midleton College"

That all being said... this is sufficiently close to say the entire argument is likely based on a miscommunication.
Where he might have referred to "some middle schools have the word college in their name" and I misunderstood it as "in X dialect / language the proper word college means middle school"
Dude. Stop. Just. Stop.

For anecdotal value, I know probably 35-40 Irish folks (both in a personal and professional context, I had a strong crossover with Ireland early in my career). None of them speak Irish beyond perhaps the level of what you might expect of an 8 or 9 year old. Certainly none of them ever speak it conversationally, outside of the odd turn of phrase. The number of people who speak Irish as a primary language wouldn't fill a single small town. There was even a documentary some years ago about a guy who could not functionally exist living in Dublin speaking only Irish. Dublin!

Anyway, DC is from Canada, right? From context I'd guess either Quebec or eastern Ontario near Quebec where there's a linguistic and cultural overlap. So that's probably the colloquial understanding we should use when trying to figure out what 'college' means in Summerville.....all the more so because Patreon is a U.S. company, and so when they police explicit content in games it with that same understanding. They are interested in making sure people won't intuit that the main character is running around bedding minors, and that the adults aren't rewarding middle teenagers with sexual favors.....minors/mid-teens being somewhat rare on college campuses, as that term is understood in U.S./Canada parlance.

You can click on it to see it full size.

This whole off-topic conversation had nothing to do with what college means in the game. It was about some dude who said he first played this game when he was 16 and in college. A couple of people were agog that someone at age 16 was in college (which, isn't really all that unusual, honestly). One person then stated where they come from the word college could be equivalated to the US secondary. The conversation was then adulterated by one person here wanting to incorrectly argue pedantic semantics about the word college and who uses it for what.

Did the cheat to unlock the cookie jar. So really what this update actually did was remove more than half of the game content wise? Most of the characters are no longer there, and the ones that are are missing lots of scenes. Fuckin garbage ass patreon scammer

That was said many times since the first tech update; he's remaking the game.

Dude thinks he's a Hollywood producer and think it's a good idea to do a remake of his own game.

Yes. v21.0.0 is still a work in progress (as in "wip.5003") and does not include all the previous content. You can still play v0.20.16 until v21.0.0 catches up. From the developer's website:

you literally quoted me explaining how this was a miscommunication.
which is the definition of stopping.
why don't YOU stop?
do you have to get the last word in?
I guess I need to, since you keep misrepresenting the conversation you attempt to shift.

My last post to you was showing your incorrect assertion:
So I looked into it, the Irish speak IRISH, not english.
which is actually a different language.
And I posted several screenshots that address an observation that you either must not have looked into it or misunderstood what 90% and "dominant" language means... and more.

Yes, you misunderstood. Yes, you continued to double down and shift the narrative. And, even in the end, stated something that was not true.

I didn't shift the narrative.
I recognize that my side of the argument and your side of the argument were talking about different things.
I then explained explicitly what those different things were.
And thus a miscommunication.

It happens. people don't all read your mind and languages have an element of vagueness to them.
So sometimes two people talk past each other, each misinterpreting the other's words

There's community colleges that are more akin to vocational schools. But that's more like years 11 and 12 to get you into a job.

It says I need to check with Miss Bissette to see if this dictionary will suffice. It won't give me a option to ask her though. Am I missing something?

First, I assume you're playing v21.0.0-wip.5003 - What do you mean it won't give you the option?

In my playthrough, Anon already has the dictionary from the library and then walked up to Ms. Bissette on Wednesday (2 days after the first day of class) and the option about tutoring lessons was asked and Anon showed her the dictionary.
Heyo! Do anyone here has an incest patch for the tech update?
Yes. There's a link in OP to one. See my FAQ for more info: 80,603

I have the dictionary and the only thing I can say to her is "Not really" That's it. I can't figure out what to do to advance.

Then it sounds like you have already shown it to her.

Where is it telling you "I need to check with Miss Bissette to see if this dictionary will suffice" -- a screenshot would be helpful.

I just went through that whole quest and never saw that prompt. What have you done on this route so far? Let's start from there.

Which did you do first? Go to the library and get the book or go to Miss Bissette and ask about tutoring?
I had the book first, because I played v21.0.0-wip.4468.

Explain what steps of this task you have taken so far.
Also, the task order shouldn't be much different than this video I have found on YouTube with a 30 second search of your task: Even though it's from v0.20.1, it should be similar.

EDIT: I just went and played through from the start only focusing on the Miss Bissette story ... at 04:00 into my video, I got that prompt --- but I had no problems advancing the storyline.
