What IS taking so long has DC even said ? I mean truly, i have tried to scan through the post but 1000's of pages is a lot to scan. so maybe a status up date on the first page would help.

The one who's rewriting all the code only works 2/3 hours a day... on weekends, probably even less than that. Pretty much expected, since they're not working full-time on this project.
Judging from the previously reported monthly progress, this "tech update" will not be released anytime soon. Q2/Q3 2025 might be a potential release date.

The funny thing is the whole time they could’ve gotten a Unity build out that would solve a lot of the issues they face in rigging 16:9 resolution support to so many damn scenes that accumulated over time. Renpy is not built to be functionally friendly for a library’s worth of sandbox scenes.
