This new patch have 0 content. Why dont implement this new mechanic and let the rest of the content?
yes, you can play that version for full storyline, also you can only play that version for full storyline because by the time tech update already gets finished, you are already going to be 70 years old. It's been long time i haven't touch this game. Did pre-tech already complete for story line ?
This is a free game not locked behind a paywall btw. Also from what I heard dc has long since planned a "never ending" game.the devs could have wrapped it up, update the game to 1.0, stop forcing people to paying a monthly subscription via patreon to play the game, making efforts to put this on a store for instance like steam or itch.io for a single time purchase
Thanks for the video. I was not aware you had to klick several times. It was a video showing people in v21.0.0-wip.5003 back when it was released.
Like I said to the other person in the first post that I linked for you - "Then you're doing it wrong."
You want me to hand hold you?
Here it is in v21.0.0-wip.6011 - the same actions as in the previous video.
I hadn't even unzipped wip.6011 before this. I specifically unzipped it for this training video.
Was that so hard?
You're welcome.
the game is patreon funded, according to their site you can download it for free yes, the game itself is not free, without the patreons the development would stopThis is a free game not locked behind a paywall btw. Also from what I heard dc has long since planned a "never ending" game.
You're changing your argument. We all agree with most of the above. In fact, that is the whole mission of Patreon... For creators to get paid. Something repeated often in this and many other threads.the game is patreon funded, according to their site you can download it for free yes, the game itself is not free, without the patreons the development would stop
which is false in the case of this game.forcing people to paying a monthly subscription via patreon to play the game
going through their FAQs saves carrying over is not guaranteed, bugs are hard to iron out when the game gets reworked from the ground up with every build so what we have access to is not the complete game or an early access game but a beta build
i'm sorry but I strongly disagree with the 50-60% finished statement you brought up, nobody can deny the highly open endedness of the gamei feel like thats not quite 100% accurate, but i do understand where youre coming from. from the sounds of it the devs want to make a fully complete game where ALL the side characters have some kind of storyline, but i do agree the game was in a far more developed state before. that being said i would guess only around 50-60% of the content they want the final version to have was actually implemented in the original game before the tech update(s), they have a hell of a lot more planned. i do agree that keeping the monthly patreon subscription open was not the best and i do agree that the progress was alarmingly slow during that period, but i do still think there was far too much content that needed to be added before the game was complete for them to put off doing the rework/remaster until it was complete.
as for the "expansion pack/DLC". i understand the argument but if you try to actually figure out what that would mean, its just that it would mean they slowly release more and more content as development continues instead of waiting until the game is entirely completeto release the game, aka exactly what they were doing before the tech update and what they are continuing to do after the tech update. the only difference is now the game has been reworked to a point where they need to play catch-up with themselves so these "expansion packs" are actually just "catch-up packs" to get them to the point they were before the big rework, once they reach that point then it will be expansion packs as you know them.
im just as frustrated as everyone else is with this projects current state, but i also know this is likely the best course of action in the long run. after the rework, the dev team will have had to entirely rework everything behind the scenes as well such as their workflow processes (how the build is planned, how the build is prototyped, how they code, how art is implemented, how the build is tested, how is quality checked, etc.) which is going to dramatically increase development time in the short run while they adjust their entire development workflow to the changes that they will have needed to make.
yea i do agree that the long period of time it took for what is; (all things considered, as mentioned above) quite a small amount of content, is a bit extreme and quite honestly suspicious. BUT im glad the devs are tackling the game again, so hopefully development picks up a little
see changelog.Huh...i remember playing this game year's ago i remember there used to be more content...
"But I have to complain about a game I got for free and make no contributions to! They could be making the game faster!"Whoever said "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned" never met the coomers of F95.
The opposite of love isn't hate, it's indifference. The biggest insult you can give someone is to ignore them.If you don't like a game you should never drop comments because all you are doing is generating buzz for the game.
Somehow I think DC would just go back to doing it as a hobby side gig if the money dried up. If you're not contributing... the game is free. It's not your job to play hall monitor for how other people spend their money, no matter how stupid it is.the game is patreon funded, according to their site you can download it for free yes, the game itself is not free, without the patreons the development would stop
Yup. Also note, not much has changed in over 2 years.Somehow I think DC would just go back to doing it as a hobby side gig if the money dried up. If you're not contributing... the game is free. It's not your job to play hall monitor for how other people spend their money, no matter how stupid it is.
(emphasis mine)He still has ~$35-40k to lose before he gets back to his last pledge goal, which won't be soon.
He made a Patreon so that people who like the game can donate to help him make it (just like how Patreon has worked since they started), he wasn't expecting much in the early days. He also made a few builds before going to Patreon.
"He takes more than 1/2 the $", so what ? If the dudes he hired (probably with contracts) were ok with how much they get, who cares what DC does with the remaining $.
He also said he'd be willing to continue making the game even if the monthly pledges were 0$, which until proven otherwise by him stopping the dev if he gets there, is still the best reason why $ doesn't matter. Even if the entire board gets butthurt about it
Yup. You should unfollow the thread and give up hope.Is this abandon om starting to think the game developer went bankrupt
