Almost always the "complaining about the complaining".

Complaining at the very least is discussion. The latter is people wanting specific discussions to stop because they don't like to hear it.

In this case the discussion is very much relevant. The whole Patreon thing is the most relevant aspect of the game as of right NOW, when people come to a discussion forum think of how silly it is to tell them not to discuss something highly relevant because you don't like it. Also before anyone mentions the idea of a discussions quality, that can apply to anything, people only apply to what they don't like to hear.

I can't really say what the best idea is. In the long run finding an alternative payment method may be the best idea but at the same time the whole project could fall apart.

I pointed this out a good few pages before this shitstorm hit, and it looks like DC just "hoped" the shitstorm wouldn't affect his project as he was not prepared for it.

It's sad to say, but the policy Patreon issued was bound to happen sooner or later.
Personally, I think he should put it up to a vote. Change platform/make a new game/rewrite the story.

Making a new game is not an option seeing how much work already went into Summertime Saga. This isn't some DAZ game.

Sorry, but no. Drawing takes a lot of time. Just watch ONE of his streams: he makes a couple - at best - of complete sketches in 2 hours and a half, usually.

And He IS prepared.

And personally, I THINK he should do - and he will do - what he wants to do, because his game is his game.

I suppose so that they do not promote this kind of stuff as normal. Really just SJW stuff if you ask me. Someone here mentioned it was illegal for them to continue without banning the incest stuff. For me that is bullshit, they could be like G2A- site which does not care if the keys are stolen or legally obtained. They just keep their mouth shut, take their money and let their customers choose the seller at their own risk. Also why the sudden interest in banning these kind of games? Why they didn't removed them 1 or 2 years ago?

Always look on the bright side. Because there is a good side to what happened. Probably too many game makers put in incest as the most important attraction in their games. Completely forgetting about art, script and dialogues. Unfavorable conditions create pressure and lead to acute selection. We should remember that diamonds are created under enormous pressure

I think the same, however an interesting point that people forget is that ok, until 6000$ perhaps you more or less can say to use it on x or y, but there are multiple levels of money, I don't think that 30000$ would all go into the game each month.

Another point is that people who receive patreon money don't have a contract or something that makes them focus on the game, patreon money is a donation so even if the creator doesn't work at all nothing but ethics are in the way to do so.

Last point is that it's truly hard to determine if a creator is focusing on his/her game and working as much as he says, the most you can do here is if you are unsatisfied with the progress then don't support him. That's why it's very interesting to support finished projects, however at the same time because of the patreon model we can have extremely big adult games.

Of course not, he works full-time on this so part of it goes to living expenses. Part of it goes to his team, hosting of his own site, and likely saving for situations like this.

Captain obvious to the rescue? XD, sorry but had to say it because of your comment. I think it was pretty much implied all you said, and exactly the part you quoted was meaning for the "dead money" part, money that should just be distributed/taken because there is no reason for it to remain, it will have no use in the development.

Maker Support has been gaining much traction lately he should've gone their right after the policy changes. That aside DC has another problem he needs deal with before it gets out of hand and that's the panic this kind of set back will cause. This of thing would kill a project's community support. We've already seen folks saying "RIP SS" and "Will not support censorship" on this forum alone.
