This VN is about a man, he is the MC, and the game is from his wiev of point, that is, this game reflects his intimate feelings. This game is about his reaching manhood. He would reach some degree of maturity till the end of the game, depending from your choices. In the game there are informations about the girls: none of them are goody two-shoes. But this game is not about their adventures, (in spite of the fact, that anybody would read about Nicol's spicy adventures in her open relationship) nor about their intention making feel MC, that he is in competition with other man. Even MC doesn't bother about the affairs of the girls.Hey everyone, new here and still getting familiar with all this!All this NTR thing and how some people freak out with it gets me really confused... For example, if we make all the wrong choices in the game and end up losing our LI to another guy, what can be wrong about it? That's how it works in real life and makes it so more realistic... I've only played a couple of VN so far and what I notice is we simply don't have male competition, it's all too easy and all women act like if there are no other men in the world. For me it's much more interesting to seduce and fight for my LI, who will of course choose me in the end if I make all the right decisions...
There are some other games about the rivalry of the MC and other men, and you can decide the winner by your choices, ( eg. by your intervening), but this is not that one.

In the example mentioned, there was not a real competition. It was a conflict between an unmature boy and an alfa-male, with predictable results, the alfa-male fucked all of the women in the surrounding of the boy. If you are interested in games of competition, you have to search the games about competition. I admit, that it's not easy. He that seeks, find.

There are many games with competition like you are saying. Power Of The Vacuum, Babysitter, My Sister My Roommate are the ones that come to mind. There are many other games like this, if you search you'll find. If you don't like games where the MC don't have competition, just don't play them, you have many options to choose.

Don't get me wrong, I like good games, like SL, with a good plot, good renders and good sex scenes of course. I don't play VN looking for competition as a specific thing, neither I avoid them when they don't have it. What I am trying to say is that sometimes it looks way too unrealistic picturing a world where we seem to be the only existing man, almost like women want us not for who we are, or our decisions in the game, but just because we are the only man with who they interact. That's a bit of a turn off for me.
Just my opinion.

See I don't feel that is what is here. There are other men (Sis's BF, his father, our own dad even) but they are selfish assholes by actions and words. That checks out IRL many, many guys are absolute dickheads that treat women like shit. What makes this a fantasy game is the women don't overlook their huge flaws because of a pretty face or nice shoulders. That is what I see lacks realism. But I (and I am going to bet many others) am OK with it because my MC will do shit right (help with hotel, flirt with and also respect ms. chef and her skills, aid church girl in her schemes, make Shortcake more outgoing and ready to shine) and we will get the girls.
This is the fantasy I (we maybe) want. The tricky part is making multi-partners work while still being the "good one" you know. That again requires some alterations where the women in game are much more open to sharing the "good guy" than is realistic but again as it leads to MC benefits I am OK with those alterations.
It boils down to our "hero" being special in some way that elicits altered reactions from LI's than what might be normal. But every story ever told with "hero's journey" plot lines has a protag that is inherently "special". So it must resonate with more than half of people everywhere as that style is SUPER successful.

NTR is ok as long as it's 100 percent avoidable in a route. But I understand how some people don't want that anywhere in certain VN's. After all, some of us play them to escape from the real world a bit and get lost in a fantasy for a few hours, where we can't get NTR'd like in real life lol.

Do we know if there will be negative consequences for dating around instead of focusing on a single L.I.?
