Sorry, but the guy is kinda right. More than once the fight scenes dragged on, to the point that they felt like filler material, that extended game time without actually moving the narrative forward.

Add to that the fact that at crucial points the mc must lose regardless of your choices.

I am not talking about the dead ends either. But simply at crucial points in the game, the mc or his companions must wear the idiot cap, in order to create unnecessary drama.

And this happens multiple times to the point that it creates frustration.

You lose against the twins, not because of your actions but because the story required it. You fail to kill Cole, because heaven forbid the mc gets a clean victory for once.

The bad thing is I predicted both events. Would have shaken things up quite a bit, and lead the game into a new and unpredictable direction if you simply got to kill Cole, no plot armour, no Deus ex machina bullshit. But of course that could not happen. We can't have the mc actually get a clean victory?! We must have more unnecessary drama to drive the story forward!

True, I know this long before, hell I even mention It some time ago here, but It is what It is, the mc Is just a meat to be chop, chop non stop.

For me Its more about the fact that the MC seems like lack of emotions nor he did ask himself about all this shit about monsters and etc, he was like "oh Im superhuman *shrug* time to sleep *welp* and Its suck, If I was In his shoe oh boy I would ask myself MANY question I would ask, speak with everyone to understand myself AND I would as fast as I can try to speak, understand or whatever this take with my monster side, inside my head.

But the dev for some reason did not allow this.

Also MC lack of fineness made me mad, by fineness I mean the fineness In a fight, he just dump fuck go In he for the whole time from the first relased version of this game count on his regenaration, like In my opinion this SHOULD be his last sort of deffense no matter how much he can count on It, that should no happen that often.

He has also the mind read power, like imagine If I was him as well I would read and remember best fighters, superhumans, monster and god who knows, who more to make sure my mind Is sharp and I can fight In every style If needed due to the situation I am In.

Well no point for me to write more, because me, you, or the guy I replay before, no matter what we say, It Is what It Is, so just play the game the way It Is or dont at all, there Is nothing we can do expect speaking what we like or not.

I gusse some expect to much from the game I mean I know for sure that "I mc" never be even at the 30% level of the Indra, this how the mc should be, maybe not RIGHT NOW, but In the end, but by looking how dump fuck he fights make me sick.

Best creation on this site only wish i put it off until it was completed. I have noticed some complaints here and there about choices but idk how you expect to have huge story divergence in this kind of grand narrative you think your playing baulders gate 3 or someshit its so stupid. this game is made by one dude the fact that you can kill like 3 chars and the plot doesnt start breaking at the seems is impressive enough.

The 3 char you kill are not important later on, you will almost never see them If you dont kill them *welp*

I've enjoyed this game so far, but since reaching the h.e.r.o. section of the story, it's gotten soooo much less engaging. I enjoyed following the many different side-stories going on with all the different characters while the main story progressed in unison.

Now it's just a single storyline and some of the scenes are sooooooo damn long, i'm just waiting to be given a choice again.

So, it's been a while since I've first seen this.
And after ruining both my last weekend, my sleep schedule and my performance at work for the past days, I've come back to consider why I didn't try this sooner.
Until I looked through the thread and remembered.
You are all a bunch of fucking weirdos at the best of times. Even considering where we are.

With that out of the way, this has been an incredible ride and I am impressed with WW's skills with the simplest and most important technique for telling stories: foreshadowing. Up until now almost everything that happens in the game up to this point can basically be inferred from the first arc if you're attentive enough.

Still, if I picked this up during the dreamworld cliffhanger, I likely wouldn't have pushed through afterwards. Cole20.jpg hit way too damn hard.

As a closing statement: I absolutely want Steven's side story. A road trip of two veterans, one a police man and one shady as fuck, and an overpowered fairy in a world of monsters and superhumans to sort shit out for their superpowered kids just sounded increasingly hilarious ever since the fairy turned out to be a distant but very fussy parent to Alice.

It's the first time I ever started to really care about them as characters, it's given them an interesting dynamic and goal. Prior to that Amber and Liz where ok as character, but nothing special, if anything Liz's position as his first big crush never really made any sense, even the supposed similarity doesn't land with the MC having a rep for being tenacious and Liz being an emotional dead fish who sleeps around. If she had a personality similar to his mother, I would completely get it.

This is the spider web syndrome, at first you start thinking and have the illusion that you have MANY choices that have a dramatic or less significant impact on the game, but with each choice and push forward you get closer to the "middle" of the spider web.


See? In the end all paths reach the same destination.

Definitely a hot take but i agree the school parts were definitely my favorite. Now the game doesn’t even feel same anymore.

Xanthe is a true genius, but he is not wise. Looking at the plans he enacted behind HERO's back:

1) Chosen Fairy
Xanthe heard a monster body was up for grabs and was using a mob family to get it. He could have easily had Nico swoop in and nab it (she was already aiding him), or contacted the Alderman family he had worked with in the past. Instead, he wanted to continue his experiments on Klaus and garner data on his trio of superhumans.

2) SIN kids
All it took for Yun and the three other SIN kids to respect Xanthe's son was donating toys and candy. Xanthe may have had the kids' best interests at heart (i.e. survival), but he failed to treat them as human beings. They resented all of HERO for this and formed SIN with Ella.

3) Destruction of Research
Xanthe wants to evolve mankind. Rival scientists who threaten this dream have their work destroyed. For example, hiring Markus Alderman to destroy a research lab where de-monsterfication was being researched. Xanthe also performs unethical experiments on monsterfied HERO agents. As Miliken found cooperating with other political groups to be beneficial, Xanthe could have found the same to be true with other scientists.

In short, Xanthe can make the right calls but proceeds in terrible, narrow-minded ways. I would trust him with my body and life, but not my autonomy.
