This is a compelling idea but almost certainly not true. WW is often very sensible in the world building and especially when it comes to HERO and Bramon Xanthe. They are ruthless but sensible. So this seems... unlikely.

Firstly, it'd make no sense mathematically speaking. Level fives are rare, powerful, and essentially the main thing that HERO as an organization relies on. The rest are canon-fodder, or damn near. Any level five is someone that's managed to reach that level (which is not guaranteed even with the serum. Few reach level four, and the serum can fail. Ella got extremely lucky, it's supposed to be tailored. Which Xanthe tells you when discussing methods of evolution and explaining why yours was kind of a wild card) and has experience with their power and is an asset to the organization (There are only 12 level fives, remember) that's basically priceless.

Sacrificing a level 5 to make a new one (and potentially failing!) is like trading in a winning lottery ticket for another that's PROBABLY going to win and might win less even if it does.

Secondly, exposure to SUPERHUMAN material does not seem to have the same effect. Deryl was fully monsterified at the time.
I was thinking that, but superhumans aren't just numbers, they are individual people, trading people they deem less useful or cannot control. The equivalent of the military trying to kill Superman to empower Captain Atom, they weaken the overall superhero community but are more concerned with what power they control.

But I'm not married to the idea, I am simply thinking of ways to make the drug not be an easy skip for evolution.

How do you recommend this game to people who aren't used to eroges without them thinking you're a degenerate (impossible challenge)?
Be like me and just autistically sperg it out.

I quite literally did this yesterday and recommend it to a (new) friend. They even found a funny and timely
"I wish superhuman wasn't a porn game so i can recommend it to more people" reddit post looking it up. LOL!

Now time will tell if we will still be friends and hang out, or if I will be receiving a visit from the police. :ROFLMAO:

It's to early to say that for sure, what the MC went through was a much more organic and fitting evolution, swimming through a sea of flesh and being overwhelmed by memories.

Here's a potential plot twist, he's not given one because if he did, he would know it's made through sacrifice by gaining the memories of the sacrificed, the excuse for why he couldn't have one, was just to avoid him finding out.
It's not too early, and the MC's evolution may have been more organic (metaphorically, obviously), but why should that matter whether its organic or not?
Also, swimming and being overwhelmed by memories is irrelevant. He evolved through an overexposure to monster material (Xanthe confirmed this). It's the same method as the serum.

But I'm not married to the idea, I am simply thinking of ways to make the drug not be an easy skip for evolution.
Why? Evolution isn't supposed to be this difficult trial or something. Anyone can evolve at any time, it's literally down to luck. The difficulty is making sure you're ready for your evolution, so you get the most out of it and don't monsterfy. The serum is a good introduction to erase the luck factor.

Exactly! The game drills into your head that Evolutions can come at any time once you reach a certain level of power, and that while training and preparation can't trigger an Evolution, it will greatly reduce the chance of your Monsterfying. Bramon also goes extra miles to ensure that those he gives serums to are absolutely ready before he actually lets them use it.

Just saw this indie game trailer pop up in my Youtube recommended, and it instantly made me think of how cool a Superhuman game with a big budget could be.

Depends on how you want to make the game but imo for it to really work it would need a budget close to some GTA

It would be great if clothing options were added to our character that were consistent with how badass he is, I'm tired of him always wearing the same horrible outfit.
Yeah, I want to see the MC wearing that slick suit Markus gave us again or new longcoat+armour fashion.

I answered that question when I brought it up, this is a story, it's like asking why isn't it more common for heroes to get powers easily, it cheapens the whole thing.

No it's not irrelevant, it happens in the story for a reason, to make it more interesting. Maybe the author can still with the exposure reasoning or maybe Xanthe will later prove to be an unreliable narrator.

Yes down to luck, or effort, like how almost every superhero is made.

The serum cheapens the process by making it a pill to pop. That is usually reserved for mass produced enemy fodder, not superheroes.

That's kind of a bad take. How many arcs do we already have in the game? 20+? 30+? If we count mini arcs
There are tons of AVNs where they are several years in the making and several updates and still have not completed one arc of their game.
