It is probably just two characters looking samey because WW has a style that he draws people in though, similar to lot of comic book artists that ens up drawing everyone with the same face like Ryan Ottley (one of my GOATs btw) who draws Mark and Eve from Invincible basically the exact same as his Peter and MJ.
Well, the similarity between characters put aside, you also have to look at it from the Author's POV. For example, have you ever wondered what WW wanted out of that scene back at the orphanage with Ella and the kids? Show some human side to Ella perhaps? Maybe, but also he made an effort to make this single kid stand out from the others, the red herring is having us think he's related in some way with the MC given the blindfold thing but then you look at Deus and makes you question things more.
Deus is a giant mystery within the story, we know very little from the dude and it is even debatable what his powers actually are, but we've seen this dude being able to predict monster attacks and is very much aware of what Ella's plan is and goes out of his way to keep it from HERO until it's done (which is fking sus as fuck and could hint at him coming from the future after said plan was executed).
It's also kinda sad how Elliot idolizes the MC, calling him 'Big Bro' and even claiming he wants to join Hero like him and fight monsters when he grows up. Then you see Deus openly calling out HERO for its fake ideals and how nobody gives a shit about being a Hero. Big irony if they happen to be the same.
This fucking game really has me like this everytime I play it bruh kudos to WW fr.
