I’m hoping the next update will have a dead end where the Eye ends up killing one or two of the captains before inevitably losing.

I like this it's a fun theory completely out of nowhere, and with Deus' (presumed) time fuckery it could easily be him the similarity is certainly there. It is probably just two characters looking samey because WW has a style that he draws people in though, similar to lot of comic book artists that ens up drawing everyone with the same face like Ryan Ottley (one of my GOATs btw) who draws Mark and Eve from Invincible basically the exact same as his Peter and MJ. Also reminds me of waaaay back when Deus was first introduced in that H.E.R.O infiltration people were theorising that he might be a future version of the MC gone back to help guide himself on the right path. I think the reason then was basically the exact same then since they also look very similar and the MC obviously has eye issues too. That is almost certainly not the case as we now know ofc (never say never) and even at the time was a huge stretch (why would a shapeshifter disguise themselves by looking almost the same but with a mask, how the everliving fuck would the MC time travel etc.) but it was fun for a time and I do think WW has drawn some people the same to tease the link before too with MC and Charlie for example (that obviously has more substance with Shopkeep calling us charlie for so long to fan the flames too) so it has a bit of precedent maybe? I do think this is probably nothing but it's something fun to think about whilst we're in-between updates if nothing else.

Well, the similarity between characters put aside, you also have to look at it from the Author's POV. For example, have you ever wondered what WW wanted out of that scene back at the orphanage with Ella and the kids? Show some human side to Ella perhaps? Maybe, but also he made an effort to make this single kid stand out from the others, the red herring is having us think he's related in some way with the MC given the blindfold thing but then you look at Deus and makes you question things more.
Deus is a giant mystery within the story, we know very little from the dude and it is even debatable what his powers actually are, but we've seen this dude being able to predict monster attacks and is very much aware of what Ella's plan is and goes out of his way to keep it from HERO until it's done (which is fking sus as fuck and could hint at him coming from the future after said plan was executed).
It's also kinda sad how Elliot idolizes the MC, calling him 'Big Bro' and even claiming he wants to join Hero like him and fight monsters when he grows up. Then you see Deus openly calling out HERO for its fake ideals and how nobody gives a shit about being a Hero. Big irony if they happen to be the same.
This fucking game really has me like this everytime I play it bruh kudos to WW fr.

It's the image quality; compressed is low resolution, while normal has high resolution.
The difference is subtle, but the normal (uncompressed) version has sharper images.

If he goes for a smallish update, perhaps.
But generally speaking, since 0.95, WW does bigger updates overall. So taking 80-90 days to finish it, considering holiday break and random delays, should put it at first days of april.

Some in the beginning in just one specific route for a few scenes, though I did see a post who claimed the dev said he would continue and implement more for the rest of romance interests so who knows.
